Bluetooth profiles

I would like to use the full capabilities of the Bluetooth handsfree system in my Lexus RX400h, but Verizon has crippled the Bluetooth profile on all the phones and Lexus does not fully recommend even one Verizon handset.
Has anyone had any luck 'importing' or replacing the Verizon Bluetooth profile with one that works? I'm ready to switch to Cingular or T-Mobile, both of which have Lexus approved handsets.

I have been told by a Nokia insider that the profiles for the Nokia 6256i, IF it is approved by Verizon, will not have crippled profiles. Frankly, I would wait until the phone is released to be sure, but my information source is overwhelmingly accurate. Let's hope Verizon gets off the stick and takes care of business asap!

A Nokia rep brought a fully functioning 6256i to my store, I liked it a lot. I asked her about the Bluetooth, and the particular one she had wasn't crippled. It had the new Verizon IU and the Verizon logo on it. She says it hasn't been approved yet. ☚ī¸

Nobody has been able to get any Verizon phone to upload the phonebook to many cars, most notably Lexus and Toyota.

Almost any Cingular or T-Mobile Bluetooth Enabled phone will work with those cars, though.
