Did Cingular CEO just announce intent to destroy agent inderect distribution?

Here's a quote directly from Cingular CEO Stanley Sigman, Feb. 17, 2006

"From Cingular's standpoint, Radio Shack gives us an opportunity to eliminate "less productive distribution channels,"

Is he talking about agents?

Leading independent research crap and Cingualr claims

What is going on? 😳 Why is it day after day i watch the bogus crap in Cingular's commericals, reguarding dropped calls, and independent research, that no one else in world has seen. Does this leading company have a freaking name? Oh, i get it they are phantom's they only rear their heads in clouds covered in mistic skies 🙄 If its true, then why not name the researchers, why not make their findings public record? 😉 cuz, its i lie, just another lie, just like Verizon's all RED map. Cingular's and Veizon's solgan should read, "If you like politics, then you'll love our lies!" 🤣

Has anyone heard about "Old Access"

I would like to propose a new program to assist our elderly customers when activating new lines of service. This hypothesis stems from the already existing credit based "Smart Access." (T-mobile) The stipulations would require, not a credit check, but technology competence criteria. The results of failing these tech focused motor skill manuevers would end in qualifying what I propose calling "Old Access." Questions would range from what is this device I'm holding, to entering names into contacts. Upon failing assesment, we would charge a one time $200 "Old Aceess" Fee which includes activation, my 400 hours of future instruction on how to power phone on/off and how to turn up ear piece/ring volume...including paying any hospital bills for ...

Sprint's bluetoth...

Anyone know if Sprint will ever allow non-crippled bluetooth. Ever? I have a Samung A920 and would love to be able to listen to my Mp3s through the headset, but the bluetooth on the phone doesn't allow this. Any info would be great.

Is there a way to uncripple it?

You have got to be kidding me, right?

I am a Sprint customer that has a 230 dollar a month phone bill. I work in an environment where I have referred tons of people because of the gadgets I always carry with this company. I currently carry the MM-A920 and the PPC6700.

I talk on my primary about 5000 minutes a month. You mean to tell me that these phones were designed with my kind of usage in mind? Give me a break.

Sprint has always been really kind to me, and if you approach customer retention politely and state this very fact, they will usually find a way to take care of you. Just BE POLITE. And don't think that the people on the other side of the phone don't write down when you have been a jerk to them.

AT&T Buying BellSouth

Well, what do you think about this? The name Cingular will be phased out (per pre-announcement reports) & the name will be all AT&T. It's been interesting to watch, over the few years I've been in the industry, how desireable the AT&T name has been...

T-Mobile Moving Towards Two-Year Plans

Hey, gang... I just read on CNet that T-Mobile's about to start putting a lot of emphasis on signing people up for TWO years, rather than one. On March 1, apparently, they're going to start stripping away some of the good deals on phones they've offered for folks on a one-year contract.

Looks like you've got about a week if you want a cheap phone and a one-year T-Mobile contract. Just thought that might be useful info for some...

IDEN versus CDMA

Why are people so down on IDEN? Sure they don't have Power Vision or V-cast or anything like that yet, but the capability to and the speeds can be just as fast as CDMA! Let's face it IDEN has 10 times the GPS tracking ability and Excels at communication. Is this not what cell phones were invented for? I fell in love with IDEN when my employer began using them on our shop floor. The phones are user friendly and work great!!! Let's face Vezion my current provider is the CDMA leader and they may hve a great network but their phones are the most undesireable on the market and they have the worst customer service on the planet. Their sales reps are arrogant and if you have a problem with your equpment for 2 years. I hear they plan 2 try push to...

Is wal-mart, Best Buy’s and cingular’s own internet/ direct mail the end for agent stores?

Is wal-mart, Best Buy’s and cingular’s own internet/direct mailing going to lead to the end of the agent store for Cingular. Prices are getting lower and lower and the agents can't compete. I have heard that the stores will win out because we can give them the customer service they need. All I see is can you transfer my #’s on the phone I bought from Wally world? I just wanted to touch the phones before I buy them on the INTERNET. Can you offer the razr for free like firefly does? You don’t sell everything for free so I won't buy from you. What is the true view of agent stores future? A while back we all talked about the agent store's buying out corporate stores now days are bleak this Christmas season.

overused analogy

okay, I side with all the "take care of your phone" people. One thing that kinda gets to me is a common analogy:
"If my TV breaks, my cable company isn't responsible/gives me credit/a new TV"
This is true, but not the best example. Better to refer to the set-top box. It is leased, if your box goes out (cable or dish) if it is leased, it's not yours and they'll repair/replace it. If you own your equipment, then you're at the mercy of any warranty/insurance you have. Yeah, you might have signed an agreement that's longer than your warranty, but still you were notified (in writing in most cases) that there was only a manufacturers warranty for 1 yr. And even if you're under contract and your receiver (TV or cell) breaks, too bad. not the comp...

Blue Razr?

Does anyone know if/when the BLUE RAZR will be released? I thought it was supposed to come out Q4 - 2005. Also, if it does come out, will Verizon carry it? or will it only be Cingular?

Thanks
