Two For One - Do I really need to be here for this?

Seriously, do I really need to be here for this today?

He wants a battery for his phone. Great! I'll be more than happy to send that to you, heck, I can even put that on your bill, however I do need a physical address to send that to.

That's apparently a problem, he doesn't have a physical address to send it to and "They sent me a free one to my PO Box before." Well unfortunately, that was WAY back when you first bought the phone and that was done through Care, not Accessories, you nitwit. They CAN send to PO Boxes, we Can Not. I'm very sorry, it's not as though that is my choice, UPS refuses to deliver to a PO Box. . . which makes sense if you think about it... that's their competition. But then you'd have to actually THINK abou...

Huh?!?!?!

First customer came in at 9:03 this morning, and I'm still confused!!

He came in wanting to get a new phone. So, I pulled up his account and saw that he was eligible for upgrade. I told him this, and he wanted to know what that meant, and also if there were any lower plans. He was barely using 150 of his 450 minutes. I told him we don't have anything lower, and upgrading would mean getting a new phone at a discounted rate by signing a new contract. He told me very firmly that he didn't want to sign a new contract. I told him that was fine, he would just be paying full retail cost for a new phone.

His response? Why should he sign a new contract when he could go somewhere else and get more minutes for less money? Umm, first, you ...

IDK, My BFF Jill!

Okay, have you guys seen the Verizon texting commercial? Well I just had a girl come into the store (11 yo) towing her mom into the store trying to get me to converse with her in txtspeak.

I need a txt speak dictionary. Anyone know a good website for one?

Now, I have thrown a lol into a verbal convo before, but never have I heard of adults trying to talk aloud like this. This crazy girl had her mother talking to her in txtspeak and was getting mad at me for not joining in.

Thank God I'm blonde, and have perfected my blank stare. It works every time.

Spit it out!!

I hate it when people come in here with a big wad of chew in their mouths and try to talk! They mumble because they can only talk out of one side of their mouths, and it takes twice as long to explain anything because you have to have them repeat everything they say! Not to mention the nasty factor of having to watch them spit every minute or so. Seriously, what is the appeal? And is it so hard to spit it out before you come in?! Not after you come in, using my garbage cans, before!!! 👿

Sorry, just needed to vent. I'm better now.

A question for T-Mobile store reps

I work in T Mo telesales and we aren't able to accept deposits over here. I was just wondering if anyone T Mo retail reps could answer a few questions for me. How often do customers requiring a deposit actually sign up for service? Do any of them ever actually tell you that telesales said they required a deposit so they are coming in to handle it and set up service? Just curious about that thanks for the input...

Phone Manuals

So old man just came in

M-Hi how are you doing today/

OG-Fine. I need a manual for my phone, do you have manuals here?

M-No sir I don't but you can find them online and print them out.

OG-So you don't carry any manuals for phones here in the store?

M-Only the ones that come with the phones.

OG-well why don't you pull one of them out of the box for me?

M-well then that phone wouldn't have a manual. 🙄

Turns out this company is a pain in the arse to deal with because we do not carry spare manuals in the stores nor have the ability to order them. Apparently offering them for free online isn't enough. 🙄

Arge

Customer comes in with a VIP mailer in his hand. He wants to upgrade a line of service on his account. I take a look at the account and see that it is an add line upgrade on a CU400. The offer is for $30 with a $30 mir. Doing quick simple math I can tell this is a non-profitable transaction and explain to the customer that he will need to go to the location advertised on the mailer. He then says

Him_"so you charge more for all your phone than them then?"

Me_"I do charge more than the special offer there."

Him_"so you charge more for all your phone than them then?"

Me_"I do charge more than the special offer there." 🙄

Did we go a third round? Why yes we did.

Perhaps he was hoping asking the third time would make...

no...I won't do it

Just had a woman bring in a phone from telesales. She wanted me to activate it. I can't. I'm not allowed. She got pissed off. She then wanted a free phone book transfer on the phone she didn't buy from me. I won't. My company made nothing from her buying a phone elsewhere.

The telesales rep lied and told her they'd give her a better deal than any local store she could go to. They sold an old woman a KRZR for $50 more than what I would have. Better deal eh?

She didn't know how to put the phone together. Fine. I put the phone together for her. She wants ME to call telesales to activate her phone for her because...get this...the telesales rep said "Go to any store with a Verizon sign and they'll do whatever you need like t...

This guy got scammed....

Had a football player for the local arena team come in (the guy was huge!!) taking a look at phones.

So I started asking questions, checking his account, etc.

He went to an indirect dealer (not exactly sure who) to sign up for Sprint less than a month ago.

He was sold a refurb Nokia 6165I for about $250. WITH 2-year contract.

This guy didn't like it for some reason and took it back to the dealer after a week, who then SOLD him an Sanyo 200 for over $100!

Clearly, the brotha didn't do his research, and the dealer probably recognized that he's on the city's team, so thought it'd be an easy sell.

I hate it when any company is deceitful, indirect, direct, or otherwise. 👿

Verizon employment

🤤 I am a former US Cellular employee now being offered a position with Verizon and I am wondering if anyone out that can give me info as far as do they honestly pay well and how do the benefits really stack up? I was making in the low 40's for USC and would like to do more than that at my next position, but I am not going to waste my time in even training for this if its not reasonable to expect over 40k a year. Also does any current VZW employee know if benefits are extended to unmarried couples? Thanks for any insight!

Porting

So, I work for a corporate cell phone company, and I came into work the other day, and our main landline work number (On ALL our business cards) and the number was in the process of being ported to Verizion. Needless to say, our phone didnt ring ALL day, and it has taken a ton of tech guys 3 days to get it fixed. But I am glad to announce, it is now fixed. I am sitting at my desk ready to answer all of the prepaid questions that always call in. BRING IT!

Fun with Passwords

M: Ok, Ms. Customer, what's the password on your account?

C: It's "spunky".

M: Are you sure? Our passwords have a limit of five characters.

C: Yes, I'm sure.

I type in the password, but since it's too long, the 'y' gets cut off, and the system accepts it.

M: Well, you were mostly right. It seems your password is actually "spunk".

C: 😳 👀 🤣

same old...but still gotta love it...

Just had a woman come in. She was so fat she literally had trouble fitting through the door. She wanted a free smart phone on a secondary line that wasn't even eligible to upgrade. They just started the account about 5 months ago. I told her the retail price.

She told me I was full of "horse sh*t" because the corp store an hour away was going to give her the phone free. I asked her to hold on a moment and I called the corporate store while she was sitting at the desk.

When I got a corporate rep on the phone, I explained the situation and inquired as to whether or not someone in their store notated the account as to the customer getting a free pda. The rep laughed, checked the account, and had me ask the customer the name of t...

Dear American Consumers {RANT}

Why is the wireless industry so much different than others to the all mighty consumer? If I called AT&T for a landline I wouldn't get a phone free, with most companies that set up landlines they would charge me for voicemail, caller ID, etc. We are similar to traditional phone companies, internet providers and cable companies in the sense that we sell a subscription service. We have a network and you pay to use it. The cable company doesn't give me a free TV and AOL never handed anyone a computer free or with a discount. Why do people think in our industry that yelling at us will sway the limitations our employers have set for us. If you start yelling at a waiter the restaurant asks you to leave. If you get all uppity at footlocker mall secu...
