Need help activation Verizon phone?!

I just got a Verizon phone and wanted to activate it on the Alltel network.

However, when I go online to change the ESN/MEID number over, it says this:

Unfortunately, there's an error with your request. The ESN/MEID is associated with another wireless carrier, a wireless Internet card, an analog phone, or a non-e911 compliant phone. For assistance, please call Customer Service.

I called to get the ESN changed over, and the lady asked me to do *228 to activate, which I knew wouldn't work from a Verizon phone...

((I already programed the phone with my number ssid and everything.))

Any advice as to what I can do? Anyone I can talk to to get the phone changed over?

htc pro question

hey i just got the htc touch pro, and I love it, except for a few little things.. anyhow, i have been enjoying the larger text of the received messages in my text messaging part. you know, the part that is setup like a chat room. anyways, today the font for my messages got smaller all of a sudden, not sure what setting if any I might have changed. just wondering if anyone might know what I might have done to change it, and how to change it back. also, is there a good site to go to and get cool software or programs to put on my touch pro?? maybe on changing the wall background to black? like on the htc touch pro website.. ๐Ÿ‘€

Alltel ESNs

Is there any easy way to check ESNs with Alltel?

I have checked ESNs on Sprint phones with Sprint in the past and they are highly inaccurate when you call in and ask, so wondering if it's the same with Alltel.

Some disturbing news for Alltel Employees

So here is some news to be concerned about. The direction that Circuit City is heading seems to indicate liquidation. Why is this important to me as an Alltel employee you ask? Well we just got off of a call that indicates that if Circuit City folds there is going to be a surplus of legacy Verizon employees that will be integrated into current legacy locations. Again you ask what does this have to do with me as an Alltel employee. Wel here is how. All non-essential and/or redundant Alltel locations will be closed, with the bulk of the employees at such stores not being transitioned. Legacy Alltel locations in key strategic locations will be reimaged and essential personnel (management) will be retained and sales and support positions ...

In Calling - Alltell phone on Verizon

I went to the Verizon website for " In Calling " ( free mobile to mobile ) it says my Alltel phone numbers are " In "

Does this mean I can call people with Verizon cell phones for free now ?

HTC Touch Diamond, wi-fi locked?

My Alltel rep said the wi-fi on the HTC Touch Diamond is strictly limited to Alltel Wi-Fi hot spots. Is this true? Sounds ridiculous to me.

alltel data phones with verizon network

i'm really thinking about getting the htc touch pro... wow what a sweet phone. anyways, just wondering now that everything is going to verizon what is going to happen with the data phones? i'm pretty sure they aren't going to work on the verizon network once they get it up and switched. Does it mean verizon will be "swapping" out the data phones or smartphones?? I just don't want to fork out all the money and then have a phone not work in about 6 months...... ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€

Yet another merger question!!

Please excuse my naivity but I am on the consumer end and don't have the inside knowledge that most of you here do.

My question is...I just moved over to Verizon, does anyone know how long it will be before current Alltel customers are considered as part of the Verizon "in network" calling?

Thanks in advance for your input

US Cellular to buy divested Alltel properties in these states...

Don't ask me how I know this as I can't share and if you don't believe then oh well, I'm sharing anyway. I have been told from reliable sources that US Cellular has/will buy Alltel in the following places: Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Idaho...and that's all I have confirmation of, but I'd venture to guess it would include Kansas and Nebraska as well. Only time will tell, you heard it here first!
