i'm really thinking about getting the htc touch pro... wow what a sweet phone. anyways, just wondering now that everything is going to verizon what is going to happen with the data phones? i'm pretty sure they aren't going to work on the verizon network once they get it up and switched. Does it mean verizon will be "swapping" out the data phones or smartphones?? I just don't want to fork out all the money and then have a phone not work in about 6 months...... 👀 👀

if you get a Pro, "which is sweet" 😁 but if you get it now , you will be grandfathered in for 2 years and dont forget , look at V site, there data plans are more than ours so you will atleast have 2 years with a better rate, but yes our phones will work with there plans

So, if you are looking to get a smartphone and are a current Alltel customer now would be the time to do it. My contact is up the beginning of March and I plan to switch to a smartphone. I hope I will still be able to get the cheaper rate at that time.

i was already to get my touch pro today, but ran into a snag, wondering if anyone has any ideas. I talked to my local rep about getting the phone and he informed me that they are cheaper to get online... $199. Anyways, he said i could still keep my plan that me and my wife have which is the 2 lines 1000 national for $79.99. Then I could add the $29.99 smartphone internet option. I couldn't get this in the store because of the internet pricing so i called the 877 number and they said there is no way i could get a smartphone without changing into a smart choice package and lose my plan i'm on. Then they also said they don't have a $29.99 smartphone internet plan to offer me... so i don't know what to do..... any ideas??

it works like this...if u get the phone under a 2 yr contract u have to go with the smartchoice plan. However if u buy the phone at retail pricing u do not have to switch your plan at all. As far as the 29.99 month for the internet this is true....the catch is u can only add that internet price code if you bought your phone w/o extending your contract. I hope this helps...

Starting off, do not buy online. Paying for shipping is annoying, plus you get as little help as humanly possible in a retail location when you go in for help. If you want maximum service, go to a different store and pay the $279. I promise you that you won't care about the $80 when you get good service in the store, from someone who isn't a moron like the first person you spoke to. I'd be glad to hook you up myself, but then I'd be risking my ass with what I'm about to tell you.

Secondly, you can request the $29.99 data plan option. Any rep worth their paycheck will allow it when it means the difference between making the sale, and not making it. With our data quotas so low this month, the $30 in data can mean the difference betwee...
