My letter says my area is not involed with the VZW transition

It says my alltel account will still be serviced by alltel and will not transition in 2009. Does this mean my area is in the trust area. I'm in Sandusky OH Erie County just west of Cleveland. I'm just trying to find out if my area is going to be sold to another company.
I have great coverage with alltel and want to keep it that way.

Alltel Phones Question:

Does anybody have any idea when alltel will be getting new phones? My contract ends in April but most of their phones right now I really don't like =/ So I'm waiting for them to finally switch to vzw or for new phones, so does anybody know?

Quick Question involving Motorola Q

Hello,

I recently purchased a Motorola Q for alltel account. I am currently using the Krazr, and have the Connect 3 Pack which includes: Alltel Mobile Web, Unlimited messaging, and unlimited data minutes. When I switch my phone over to the plan I am on now (Connect 3 with family talk plan), will I be able to use the features on the Moto Q? Alltel offers the Connect 4 Pack which includes: Alltel Mobile web, unlimited data minutes, unlimited messaging, tv on demand, alltel radio basic, ringback tone subscription, and email. Would that be an upgrade available to my Moto Q once I get it activated that enables me to use the Q's features?? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Question about texting verizon

I told my daughter on feb 17th that we could now text and call verizon numbers for free. Was I wrong in this info? I checked here and called Alltel they told me I could and we had the right plan that allows it. The only thing that changed was she started texting a friend that have verizon. That number as the only different number she started texting, it is a verizon number. Now our bill is 300 dollars for texting. Is there anyway to confirm what numbers she was texting so I can prove it to Alltel that they were Verizon numbers? Any info would help thanks.

Does everyone know about this?

This is apparently public information from the Alltel Verizon site. I was unaware of it.

Alltel to Verizon Porting Process- Effective Wednesday, 1/28

With the recent close of the Alltel/Verizon merger, a new porting process is being implemented effective Wednesday, January 28th to allow heritage Alltel customers to port to Verizon without being charged an Early Termination Fee (ETF). All non-divested Customers that have 4 months or less remaining on their contract can port early in order to take advantage of Verizon products and services. There are several non-divested markets that are not eligible to port early and get their ETF waived. Cities located in these markets are:

Oklahoma – Grove and Tahlequah
Texas – Longvi...

Can not port Alltel lines to Verizon?!?!?!

I have about 10 phones on an Alltel account in Utah; I had plans to port these numbers over to Verizon because I was unhappy with the service. Now after the acquisition I'm being told that is not possible because it’s one of these divested areas or as they call it a Share market???? I want to keep the phone numbers for numerous reasons but am being told I am not allowed to port them over to Verizon... I totally feel like I’m being held hostage here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 👿 👿 👿

How long before we're Verizon?

I live in Spartanburg, SC. I've read several different article about Verizon taking over, but how long until Alltel is officially phased out and Verizon will completely take over? I've only been a customer with Alltel for five days, so of course I haven't received any kind of letter yet.

Tower usage

In our area there is fair/poor coverage. We can use our phones in part of our home but not the back part. Our church is 1/2 mile away...we can use them in the parking lot but not inside. Same where my wife works...can use outside but not inside. When I asked about this, they said alltel guarantees coverage but that doesn't count inside buildings. The only other carrier is US Cellular. I'm not a fan of theirs for other reasons.....

Anyway (sorry so long)......
[These are the only two cellular companies available to us.]

Verizon can use/bounce off of the uscellular towers whereas alltel cannot. Again, this is what we have been told.

Now that verizon has alltel will our phones start bouncing/using uscellular's towers? If so whe...

Divested till 2010 or longer

Quoted from RCR Wireless

“We’re projecting well into 2009 and through the first part of 2010,” Bowersock said.

As divested alltel/verizon employees, we were told the divest areas must be sold within 4 months of the verizon aquisition per the aquisition agreement. I guess they would have known more people would have left had they said our jobs would be in limbo for at least a year. I'ld really like to know how much of our management actually knew this wasn't the case but didn't say anything. Like the $10,000 bonus for managers and above who stayed through the aquisition but ZERO for anyone below managment.

Alltel and Verizon

I am a pretty new Alltel customer and I understand they are heavy partners with Verizon. The sales guy told me their national plan was basically Verizon and if I was digital roaming on Verizon, I would still get text messages and such as if I were in my home Alltel area. Alltel seems to have good rural coverage here in MO. Does this sound correct or was I suckered? I also noticed I have been roaming on Sprint.

Also, I have a Kyocera 5135 and reception is pretty good. Anyone have advice on phones that have good reception in rural areas?

Thanks for any information!

If AT&T

If they do buy the Alltel people who wont be moved to Verizon, then you WILL be forced out of your Phone AND plan and switched to a AT&T Plan and Phone because they will shut off CDMA and put up GSM which doesnt have as wide of a service area as CDMA.

My region up for sale?

This is bull, I live in NW Iowa, and my region is up for sale because the FCC thinks that the my region won't have enough "competition". I was perfectly happy with Alltel, and will be dissappointed if some small company will buy them out.

Anyone know say in this area if it is possible to stay with verizon?

Alltel Customers

If you havent heard, Verizon is going to use yalls My Circle type plans.

no extra charge, and you can change the numbers when you would like too.

Works for Land Lines.

And starting the 17th Alltel can call Verizon for free.

Its been Verizon calls Alltel for free, but now it will be both ways.

New phone AX 265

Don't know why, and not sure when it launches. It has been seen in a few stores, and accessories are available for it now.

It's the same phone as the LG Lotus, carried by Sprint.
