What affect will the merger/buyout/whatever have on people who still own Dealer Lines through AWS? Will the plans automatically get cancelled or will they continue on or will the be forced to move to a consumer line or a cingular dealer line or what?

Is AT&T dropping the motorola v60i? i know they have the new one with color but are they trying to drop the old version of it? Its not available online anymore and there aren't any rebates for it with a single plan?

Do anyone know if ATT wireless started using their 800 spectrum in the New York area? If not then when do they plan to roll it out.

Just wondering if theres any reps out there who just flat out refuse to credit customers any roaming charges while they are on the national plan. I mean the plan covers them only on AWS network so technically if they get charged roaming they should have to pay. But I usually give in and help them if its the first time or so. Or right in the middle of the Home Calling Area I dont hesitate. Just wondering this cause a friend of mine was going on and on about how we should never credit roaming. So how about that report from the Wall Street Journal...3000 AWS employees from Customer Care & IT will be laid off by the end of the 1st quarter. These jobs will be out-sourced to India. How do you guys feel about that? Are ya nervous or nonchalant? Do you think that AWS will let go of employees with tenure (since they cost more per hour), or let go of employees who are newer (since they have less experience)?

I'm an employee and I was nervous about the layoff when it was announced, but I'm not worried anymore since I've gotten tons of contract extensions lately...

Today was the first day i actually had customers asking about the merger. They were asking whats going to happen to their plans and stuff. 2 customers actually said they hate AWS and want to go to Cingular but if we merge they dont want to be back with AWS if they keep our policy. A few other customers were saying they are going to cancel to go to Cingular to get a new phone and that they would be seeing me in a few months after the merger but they would get a free phone. Those were my fav 😁 I would say I had about 20 customers asking about the merger. Fun day 😁

what will happen with SunCom. They are a member of the AT&T wireless family. They suck pretty hardcore, and the only reason that I use them is cuz of the Nokia Phones. I was thinking about going with sprint, cuz their phones are better and now with the number porting.

Last new thread today i swear. ;) I still think AWS should offer birthdays just like holidays. I mean its 1 day a year. And if we have it on file they get it. If not they have to call us and add it. If its not on file to f#$%ing bad. Send a notice out on the bills to let customers know. 😁

A friend of mine has a very old Nokia that is starting to flake out. She's been with AT&T for five years now. When looking at new phones, she sees that only new customers get any of the great rebates and deals. Yet, if she swtiches, she can get a free phone from any provider.

So, my question is, why would anyone stick with AT&T to pay for a new phone when they could just switch companies and get a new phone for free?

Hi all,
I am planning to switch to AT&T wireless and would like to know how good their coverage (both GSM and TDMA) is in the west coast (California, Washington, I-5 in general).
As far as the phones are concerned, I am leaning towards the GSM models - Nokia 6200/6800, Sony Ericsson T616. I am also curious about Nokia 3300 and Motorola MPx200. The only TDMA model I like is the Nokia 6560, and I read bad reviews about it here. I dont care so much about text messaging and all. Good reception is my primary concern.
Any opinions are most welcome.
