Ok, lets set the record straight.. I like USCC, I also like verizon, that is why I have both of them right now, I am looking at going to one only, that is why I am trying both out right now. On the roaming question I asked, it was a question, my phone pops up the roam indicator when I am not suppose to be roaming, that is why I asked, I was not complaining...I did state that it would be nice if USCC could program our phones so the indicator would not come on if we are in a local area. I also said it would be nice to have a swap out plan for phones, a little complaint, but, who doesnt have a complaint.

I think USCC has execellnt coverage, specially when I am in the USCC territory, I think they are top notch in coverage in their territory...

Telephone & Data Seeks To Take Over Rest Of US Cellular
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Telephone & Data Systems Inc. (TDS) is implementing a plan to take over the remaining shares of U.S. Cellular Corp. (USM) it doesn't already own and make the company a wholly owned subsidiary, according to a regulatory filing Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The proposal will permit Telephone & Data Systems, which currently owns 82% of U.S. Cellular's common stock, at some time in the future to issue special common shares in exchange for all of the common shares of the cellular phone service unit, the filing said.

I have a question, I am on the local plan, and my phone shows the triangle when it is roaming, as I think that is correct, that is what the agent said.

well, I get 1 mile out of my town, and the triangle comes on, so, I cant believe that I cant even get 1 mile out of town and it starts roaming, so I called 611, and I got USCC. The other place is on I80 in Illinois, by Peru, Il, there is a 50 mile stretch that the triangle comes on, and when I call 611, I get sprint there, and this area is smack dab in the middle of the local coverage area.

I called USCC the next day and asked them about this, they looked up Peru, Il, area, and said, yes, that is part of your area, you can use your phone, promo minutes, ect...even thought the triangle ...

I am disappointed to see how many posts there are from what appear to be USCC employees and agents revealing confidential company information about new promotions and phone release dates.

This information is not given to the public or to be shared for two reasons.

when are we going to be getting some decent phones besides those (ptt) ones i am so sick of looking at these ugly things i have the 6100 and the 710 and those are the best phones we carrier i gave up on the 6255 i think that will never come out!!!! the 265 is just plain terrible yeah it has a camera but has any looked at the camera lately when you took a picture its terrible come on Motorola you come out with good phones for cingular or gsm for that matter why cant you come out with something cool for us and kyocera needs to come out with some better stuff i hate our currant selection the only one worth selling is the lg 6100 thats the only phone i even tell customers about when will we get better phones??????

What happens if a person goes over their 50% rule 3 months in a row?

Does USCC just shut the service down, or what?

And why does USCC not make this part of the contract, where the customer has to initial that they understand the 50% rule? It would make things less complicated, USCC has a limitation on the national plan, they should make sure the customer knows this and states so on the contract, it is kind of an important thing to know. I

I work at an Agent location in Maine, and I have many customers who are coming over from AT&T, and one thing they notice is that we do not have a very wide selection of phones. It seems to be a common point from former AT&T, Sprint and verizon customers. I mean, when you walk into a Sprint or AT&T store, they have something like 50 phones to choose from. Why don't we have more than the mere 10 phones we carry?

Don't get me wrong, by only having this many phones, it sometimes makes my job easier, but sometimes it is harder to sell becasue of the low selection. I have seriously had people come in and look at the phones and walk out saying, "You don'[t have anything for phones that interests me." I can't even get them to stay and Talk a...

i just got a lg vx 6100 on 5/6/05.i keep reading post that say that the rf is not very good on that phone & then i will see post that says it has good rf. i just want to know the truth is the rf good or bad. if it is bad rf i want to return the vx 6100 this week & get another brand of phone maybe a moto ? 😕 😕

Why is it that US Celluar does not allow Verizon to run certain features on its network? Basic things such as sending pictures and running their push to talk as well are not acessable while you are on the US Celluar network even though they are roaming partners. Does anyone know why this is? My opinion Verizon should just buy them out so that it gives both companies great perks and on the consumer side it makes things that much better. Any info will be great, thanks.

As we all already knew, a new report out today rates U.S. Cellular BEST company in terms of customer complaints. Coming in LAST place is Cingular - ATT.
Complaints per million customers :

Cingular = 288.9

U.S. Cellular = 39.4

Hi All:

I'm the proud owner of a couple of Nokia 6019i's with USC; love the service and the phones.

I've been trying to get the phones set up as modems for dialup access for my laptop, and it's quite a sage. I've gotten the CA-42 installed (not easy) and the phone set up as a modem (not easy, either), and can even get it to dial my dialup ISP. But after a second or so, it hangs up. The USC rep intimates that this has something to do with "CSD" (circuit switch data) settings, and that there is a work around, but he can't tell me what it is, and that this forum is the place to go with such questions.

Any ideas? Thanks!

This month has been sooooo slow in sales for me. I normally do very well. No one wants a cell phone. Even people who are interested in them. I can not for the life of me get them to buy. This is not normal!!

Anyone else having this problem? Looking at our numbers this month we all seem to be doing not so well. At least here in the West. Especially with the launch of the new price plans.
