Re: Samsung D807
This is weird... when we had the D807, no one bought it. But the last two weeks I've had twenty phone calls for this phone.
Am I the only one who's noticed....
... that Motorola phones are always $50-100 more than a similarly equipped phone from the other manufacturers? Right now the original V3 RAZR is actually $10 more than the SYNC... and the SYNC is better in terms of reception, camera, internet speed, and music player. The V3x is similar in features to the SYNC... but it's $30-50 dollars more.
The Moto Q that AT&T is picking up may be a sweet phone, but if it's twice as pricey ...
Re: This is AMAZING
Heck yeah, brah!
Re: This is AMAZING
Also, you can use the Media Max plans with any PDA... they just don't tell you that. I work for them and I use Media Max with every PDA I get.
Laptop Cards
I'm looking for a comparison on Laptop Cards from all the servie providers. I know everything about Cingular's cards 'cause I work there. So I need info about T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and others.
I'd prefer the info like this:
CINGULAR WIRELESS
Technology: HSDPA/UMTS
Fallback: EDGE
HSPA speed: Up to 3.6 Mb/s
EDGE speed: Up to 120kbps
3G Coverage: Most metro cities
EDGE Coverage: Virtually everywhere you get voice coverage
Future upgradability: Speed should double in the next year to ...
Re: Languages?
Yes.
Re: Um... so who is the carrier?
I believe this phone has its own carrier with its own Operator service.
Re: assigning ringtones to callers
Did you get your phone from Cingular?
The first batch released in Cingular stores had a software issue that didn't allow for ringtones assigned to callers.
Try this. Go to Menu->Settings->Handset Information (Menu 9 *). Under Software Version you should see a string of numbers separated by dashes. If the third number is "V10a" (example: CU500-MSM3270100-V10a-Jun-04-2006-CW-US) then you have the old software. If it says something else (I'm not sure what) then you have the new software.
If ...
Re: Samsung Blackjack
You'd think they'd tell us this stuff, wouldn't you?
But until now the distinction between smartphone and PDA is a full QWERTY keyboard, which the Blackjack has.
Pretty sweet, if the $19.99 will work.
Samsung Blackjack
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a Samsung Blackjack with Cingular when it comes out. I notice it's listed as a "smartphone" instead of a PDA.
Does that mean it'll use Cingular's $19.99 internet package instead of the $39.99 PDA package?
Re: Price?
I can't speak for the date but the price isn't on Cingular's current price sheet. Hopefully we'll hear more this week.
Internet Package
I've seen this described as a "smartphone" instead of a PDA.
Does this mean that it will use Cingular's $19.99 MEdia Net package instead of the $39.99 PDA package?
If so, I'll buy one the second it's available.
Re: Are They All Crazy?
Yes.
I didn't read your post yet, but just based on the title, I'm saying yes.
:)
Re: Customer that just came in...
When I worked at Blockbuster, tons of folks would hand me cards for other video stores. Which I can kind of understand. But when I would hand it back and say "I can't take this," they NEVER figured it out until I pointed to my BBV logo on my shirt.
Re: My name is Peanut. I work for a company that sells phones.
Hi. :D
My name is Peanut. I work for a company that sells phones.
I don't program phones or set up phones, though I'll help you if you bought it from me.
I don't loan phones.
I don't sell used phones.
I don't fix phones.
I don't make the phones. I don't work for the company that makes the phones. If your problem is with the phone itself, outside the 30 day return policy, I can't do anything for you at the store level.
I have some basic customer service abilities, but there are things for ...
Re: Do you work here?
What if there are children?
Do you work here?
Anybody work in a store in which the customers try to come behind your desk and look at your computer screen when you're looking at their account?
How do you tell them that what's on teh screen is none of their damn business?
Re: Happy Birthday to meee
Kick butt. Call me in a year and tell me how drunk you got. :D
Re: Happy Birthday to meee
Happy Birthday! Mine was Sunday. How old are you? Get any neat presents? A pony perhaps?
Re: Bad Day
What a coincidence! That's the song with the kick ass video I was trying to think of!
What are the odds? :paranoid:
Re: Bad Day
That's some great original poetry, Ray. I'm impressed.
In other news, has anyone seen that kick ass music video about the guy and girl who draw on an ad to leave messages for each other? It's a sweet video, but I don't remember what song it was for.
Dang, son...
... that's a lot of money.
Re: im just going to go thru the drive thru naked next time....
I worked for Blockbuster when they did their "No More Late Fees" thing. Not only did I have to explain the new policy a hundred times per day in the store; anyone who saw me in uniform and all of my friends wanted me to explain it to them, too. I usually told them that they just beat you with chains if you returned your movies late.
Re: I thought he'd kill his kid.
And Catherine Zeta-Jones gives money to terrorists.
Re: I thought he'd kill his kid.
The president of Sprint eats babies.
Re: I thought he'd kill his kid.
yeah, every third phone we carry is ultraslim and sleek.
Re: I thought he'd kill his kid.
Sure, but then he'd have no service. And an uncool phone. So there's tradeoffs.
I thought he'd kill his kid.
I just had a customer say his kid went over on his text messages. I looked it up and his kid went 4000 over.
That was $400 on his bill!
I thought he'd kill the kid. But instead he upped the texting plan and bought his kid a new $200 phone.
I would've killed him.
Re: wtf?
It could be worse. Could you imagine working at Circuit City and selling a computer to an old person?
Re: "In my pockets"
It's because we sell an intangible product, I think. You go to Target and buy a vacuum cleaner, and you have a vacuum cleaner. A cell phone company takes money from you each month but you have nothing physical to show for it, so you feel like your $60 bill is pure profit. That's why folks don't understand the subsidised pricing and why their 9.99 line isn't up for an upgrade for the next eighteen months.
That's ...
Re: just a bad day
I had one earlier who'd received a replacement phone from the warranty department and wanted me to put it together for her... no problem. Then, before she left, she turned to me and told me that she'd spent twenty minutes on hold with them and then got cut off, and had to call back.
I nodded, smiled, and said "Is there anything else we can do for you today?"
I'm not going to apologize for the warranty department, or give ...
Re: Sony Ericsson W 600i
The 810 is on its way (probably October) and it'll be a much better phone, if not as pretty. I'd hang in with a temp phone until then.
Re: Why would I?
Yep. I work for a Cingular agent and a lot of folks buy a phone as part of a bundle with Bellsouth, get it mailed to them, and don't understand why I can't do anything with their new phone AND fix problems with their bellsouth DSL, too.
Re: "Y'all sell used phones, right?"
Sounds sweet. I may have to make one up tonight.
Re: It doesn't have...?
It doesn't have profiles, near as I can tell. And the e-mail thing bugged me at first, but I've gotten used to it. Like was said above, this phone kicks a$$, and I haven't said that about many phones.
Re: here we go again
I've seen it before. But you know what? You can get a PDA for like $20, and a prepaid phone for like $30. Or you could buy a Cingular 8125 for $550 retail. Tape the other two together and save yourself $500.
"Y'all sell used phones, right?"
No. We sell new phones. We're a f :o king phone store, not a f :o king antique shop.
Man, I need a drink.
Re: here we go again
Yep. And they want special attention, too, for buy a PDA. Sorry, pal, but your prepaid cards give Cingular just as much money as anyone else's.
Re: typical custy Haikus funny
I have an old phone.
Do you have its car charger?
