Maybe
If they had a decent EVDO network, they wouldn't have to worry about WiFi
Its coming to Verizon
Theres a Pearl 2 in the "Secret" Verizon page. So I'd say its just about confirmed for VZ.
Why don't they
Actually get the damn E911 service to work.
As a Verizon dealer..
I have to say this is terrible. Man I'm going to hate taking these phones back by the boatload.
Great keyboard layout!
SIKE! What retard designed the D-Pad in the MIDDLE of the device?
Re: With....?
Circle jerk anyone?
Cheaper?
Really, how much cheaper do we need to get? You can get Razrs these days for $50 or less, what price point are they trying to create with this phone, negative?
And cmon, the biggest draw on a Razr is the thin design, subtract it and the mindless drones might realize they dont want it.
Re: Finally a wireless card for an Apple Laptop!
Verizon was the first company to come out with the Express card. Sprint was the first one to come out with the USB card. Then VZW adapted a USB one recently, which has Rev. A on it, and Sprint adapted an Express card. This article is about VZW offering a Rev. A Express card, not that they haven't had Express cards in the past. Personally, I run a USB720 Rev. A on my apple and it works great. 1.2 ...
Re: Wonderful
I wonder if they'll offer the phones at a discounted price depending on how many Adsense ads they click per month

But I'm shopping now and, at the very least, working on gaining leverage to get a sweeter deal from V...or leave.
Might as well pack your bags and leave now, Verizon doesn't budge at all on anything. You'll never gain leverage to get a better deal from Verizon. Ever. They would rather you walk, seriously.

sprint roams on verizon towers to, voice and data. so look into sprint and let me know how it turns out.
roaming is free and data is unlimited.
Everyone seems to be thinking that by having free roaming, you're getting all of Verizon's towers as well as Sprint's towers all the time and when Sprint has an overloaded or crappy tower in one area, that Verizon is going to come running to the Sprint customer's rescue. This is NOT THE ...
Re: Interesting...
Or you can just save money and buy all your phones at full price like me. And screw contracts, just pay the ETF and leave if you want to.
Re: Can we say Sport Center on the VCast TV phone
This will definitly help with sales. Heck, I think I might just go ahead and get V-Cast myself. Depends how good the programming is on there. ESPN Mobile had an awesome spread of news and info on there. If we got the whole package former ESPN Mobile users had, there's almost no way you can say no to this.
MY GOD
That's all. Oh how I wish it was CDMA
Re: SCP-8400 bug?
It's not a bug, it's a safety feature to make sure you don't hang up on someone. If you pop it open and it closes on you quickly, on every other phone it will hang up on the person. It's a good idea.
I would always reach my goals
If I set them as low as Sprint does!

We are not fooling around when it comes down to deploying 3G.
That statement is fooling around in itself. Have you seen the "3G Network" in NYC? I can't vouch for all the other cities since I haven't lived in them, but its in like, one borough. In a city of over 8 million people, they have perhaps 1/5th the people covered if even. They're missing all of Brooklyn and 75% of Queens. No Staten Island. No Bronx. Just ...

More people use GSM, more research will go into it. GSM will always be one step ahead of CDMA.
Of course, that's always been the case in the past, right?
Re: T-Mobile
LMAO!
T-mobile can't currently even reach 280 Kbps, nevermind 280 Mbps!
Re: Sprint Largest / Most Reliable Nationwide Network
Where did you get that data?
Re: Sprint Largest / Most Reliable Nationwide Network
I'm a VZW fanboy so I'm biased, but for customers who travel alot, Verizon can't be beat. If you REALLY want to read into coverage, Alltel actually has the most network by square miles, but VZW covers the most population. You're free to go wherever you like, but Verizon will rarely drop your call and have you calling into customer service the least. JD Power, Consumer Reports and the Wall Street Journal are rarely wrong.
Re: Knockdown in Round 1
What are you smoking?
If Verizon didn't care about wireless data, why did they pioneer 1xRTT and EVDO? Why did they have the largest network for data up until recently? Verizon doesnt invest frivilously which is one of the main reasons it's so successful, so if they didn't care about it why did they invest so much money into becoming the first company with true 3G technology.
Verizon isn't a threat to Sprint? You're right, it's not. We dont take ...
Re: Excellent Idea
Holy crap, that's awesome!
Talk about targeting the youth!
Re: verizon is going to be number one - then who will cingular merge with???
Total Customers : Subtract Cingular's prepaid and VZW has more.
Towers : CDMA Towers handle more calls than GSM towers
Coverage : Verizon covers the most population
Network : Everyone says they have the best network. Now T-Mo is saying they have the fewest dropped calls..whos believes that?

Yeah. They must all be deaf, blind, and dumb too...why should THEY have phones? Let's just round them up...
Exactly!
Since when
Since when do customers who have hearing aids ever need all the features on this phone? Most customers with hearing aids are part of our geriatric community and all theyre interested in is a huge display and being able to hear it. All these features will turn off those customers.
Re: oops
Continued to tell me that it wasnt able to be read. Either way, I got the Music Essentials kit and it works fine
Disney
They can't be happy about this, but they shouldve expected it..especially since they were using their network. Does anyone have any idea what Disney's subscriber base is? I'm really curious to know how many customers actually have a Disney phone.
Re: Go T-Mobile Go!!!!
I dont know what JD power and associates you're reading, but they were #1 in 3 markets. And in my market, the Southeast..they were ranked dead last.
Re: oops
Ive tried that, and it doesnt work.
WMA Transfer
Sorry for the newbie question, but do you HAVE to use the Music Essentials kit software and cable to transfer music to the phone? I tried clicking and dragging WMAs into my songs folder on the phone..but it kept saying it could not play. If I cant transfer my existing music to the phone, I might as well not have it. Thanks
Re: A990's Pricing
I'd say it would be a good year before the price starts dropping. It's samsung's flagship. When are flagship phones ever cheap witin thier first year on the market? By that time, they're no longer the flagship
Re: Expensive
You're right, they have less towers. What you didnt know was, those CDMA towers Verizon employs hold far more calls than Cingulars do. Furthermore, alot of those towers are overlapping. When Cingular bought AT&T, they got all thier towers...even if they had a tower next to another tower. Kind of useless if you ask me. Verizon's network is still stronger and thier text/pix/flix messaging packages are also much more competetive.
Oh and there is no surcharge to send one ...
Re: Razr with one year contract question
New2 doesnt apply for 1 year extentions
Re: Price
No way is it only going to be $499. Far too cheap. With the other PDA's running at $400 and $500 for consumers, the retail price isnt going to be that low. I expect it to be $500 for a new customer. Retail price, probably closer to $650

Hey man, no offense..but are you retarded? Who the hell pays $3600 for an email address. I'd think if it was really THAT upperclass, they would be able to have @millionaires.com and not @millionaires24.com
Oh thats right..probably because it's being run by an 8th grader who uses your thousands of dollars on internet porn and buying soda at vending machines.
Please..tell me you didn't really pay for that da*n account.
Re: Knock My Socks Off
Per capita, yeah we're not the richest. But have you ever seen Luxembourg? They're NOWHERE near the size of the US. If I had a million dollars and I made my own country, the per capita of my country would be $1,000,000 a person. Does that mean I'm the richest country in the world? NO.
It means I have the most money per person. Overall, the US has by far the largest economy and money of any country
Re: A Sign of hope.
I say if they can buy the FCC, buy it. Hell, the pharmaceutical companies already bought the FDA, but not telecommunications buy the FCC?

As is, most carriers will charge you to copy over contact lists from one CDMA based phone to the next, so $2 for insurance on the list isn't that bad a price.
I know I LOVE charging customers to do phonebook transfers. Get out the Cellbrite machine and you make a quick $10 for 2 minutes of work.
