Re: Well......
You what else people value? A free and open internet. Seems he's not so worried about that one.
In other news......
I lost a nickel the other night that was never recovered. It's about the same thing.
Re: Will not connect to 4G/LTE at all.
I'd start with the basics and make sure you're phone has the right settings. Under the network options make sure it is set to cdma/lte.
More Framily Prans Preez
That may not quite be the case, while terribly named, the new Framily plans are highly innovative in their structure. One can't know for sure how long it was being developed before it's launch but it seems like it would take fresh blood to come up with the idea in the first place.
I say.........
go all out and call them the Framiree Pran.
I dont know where they operate at.......
But over that two years combimed with upfront cost you're paying $100 more than the phomes outright cost of $650......sounds like you're getting F'd in the A
Re: The real benefit is
I get that if we're talking about the big two of Verizon and AT&T. They're currently taking price gouging to a whole new level but when we're comparing unlimitied to unlimited (Sprint vs TMobile) the savings really arne't there
Re: Sarcasm?
It was sarcasm and if you look at the plan cost, Sprint's prices are the same as Tmboile's before Tmobile adds all the cost of the phone onto the plan. People who like to upgrade their phones often don't save anything with Tmobile comparitively, its the illusion of savings.
Man! these no contract plans are awesome!!!!!!!!
Instead of getting these phones at a discount of $199 total and having to deal with these silly, unfair contracts for two years, I can get my phone for $629 and then take two years to pay it off, ITS TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I can't wait to upgrade my whole family and add the $100 to my monthly bill. YES, thanks TMobile, thank you!!
Nope 16 gig for $629
The $149 is your upfront cost.
Re: Lines 3 thru 5
The customer is, not the carriers. Five lines on a family plan is much cheaper to the customer than five lines on individual smart phone plans.
Re: A situation the carrier created
They don't insist on subsidizing. You can walk in and pay full price for a phone and not have the contract extended (though it doens't typically work for brand new customers) But how many choose to go that route? I'm guessing less than 1% of 1%.
Re: What happends if the USB port is damaged?
Use the DropBox offer to keep your pics backed up, make sure your contacts are synced with Google or atleast backed up to a memory card. The better prepared for something bad happening the better off you'll be. Get TEP as well if you don't already have it.
Re: Why so negative?

that will change soon enough
I hear a lot of that speculation but its just that, speculation. If you look at the history of decision making made by Hesse as CEO, you'll know that he likes billing for customers to be simplified. Data caps are anything but.
You know who doesn't have to worry about this?
Sprint customers :o I laugh at their claim that somehow only 5% of their customers exceed 2 gigs of use a month. I'm reguarly in the 4-6 gigs of use each month and I don't use data in a way I think anyone would consider excessive.
AT&T says "Here's some great devices that allow you to do just about anything you could want through a cell phone....but please don't actually use any of it."
As long as the coverage ...
Re: We Won't Throttle, We'll Just Terminate
Streaming apps such as Netflix will use way more than a gig of data if you do so a couple of times a month. That Sprint customers can use their data to the phones themselves as much as they want without worry is hardly unnecessary or valueless.
Re: sooo what!
Amen, Advanced Task Killer should be called F#$% Up Your Phone for Free. That one app is responsible for the vast majority of problems I encounter with android phones
Re: Can you use the dock without tether charge
I've seen nothing to indicate its going to cost extra to use the feature and furthermore doing so would go against Sprint's overall billing concepts. They're not going to try to nickel and dime you to death like ATT does.
Re: wheres the hdmi output?
gotcha and awesome, I'm looking at the phone and thinking "why did they leave the hdmi off of the phone" I guess they didn't. pretty surprising but it looks like its another cable to buy as the hdmi that worked on the Evo doesn't work with the Evo 3d
Re: HDMI OUT MIRRORING
There is not a hdmi out on the phone. I was surprised that's the case but it is what it is.
Re: $10 Data Add-On Waived
*any
Re: $10 Data Add-On Waived
Sprint doesn't charge the $10 on Amy IDEN phone. They understand its an experience that's simply not worth paying extra for.
Re: EVO 3D Vs Nexus S 4G
Horrible battery issues? People put horrible settings/apps on their phones that led to battery issues so that's a different issue altogether. A typical day on my Evo gets me 12-16 hours on a single charge. That's not bad considering the phone is more a mini-laptop that makes phone calls.
I think the Evo3D is going to be an awesome device but I think the same is true for the Nexus 4G though I trust Samsung less overall as ...
Re: Its understood
My guess is that most of the people that would have gone crazy over this phone are happy with their Evo's along with quite possibly not being available for upgrades for a whole other year.
I really want to be an advocate for the phone so that I can try it out and get it for free at the same time. If I was in the position where most people are and have to pay for the phone then ...
I'm not impressed
This phone's two screen together have about an inch more of screen than an Evo turned sideways. Multi-tasking is awkward at best. I hope there isn't a flood of early adopters for this device because right now its lookin like a stinker.
To its credit, the built-in keyboard should be ok even for the fattest of fingers
Re: Poll
When a company decides to trim the fat, the higher ups are the first to go. It in itself doesn't really mean anything other than they're trimming fat.
Re: If the AT&T/T-Mobile merger goes through...
Much larger by what means? Processing power? Battery life? Screen resolution? In these terms, yes larger or much larger.
If you mean by overall size then I must question your sources. I watched engadget give them a side-by-side comparison, the size is almost identical with the Evo 3D being a tad bit thicker.
Happy about the dedicated camera button, not so much about the lack of the kickstand
Re: Looks Like a G2/Desire Z
Looks like a refinished Evo Shift +world-wide roaming- a 4G connection
Re: If the AT&T/T-Mobile merger goes through...
Enron is in no way comparable and anyone familiar with their practices and how they got to where they did knows that. Sprint's stock isn't going up due to all-of-a-sudden deregulations and extremely creative and deceptive book keeping. I don't claim stock value is the end-all, be-all of a company's financial well-being but it is a good indicator as long as the company is doing honest business and that indicator has gone up steadily for the last year ...
Re: Poll
I say yes but only because I think its to my own benefit. I see a lot of Tmobile customers that won't be able to wait to jump ship and I imagine that ATT is only going to be so nice when it comes to grandfathered rate plans and such.
Sprint becomes the de facto low-priced carrier with this move and that's a position I welcome.
With that being said, I don't think this is a move that's ...
Re: If the AT&T/T-Mobile merger goes through...
Your doom and gloom analysis doesn't match with reality. The stock price has doubled since I started working for Sprint directly a year and a half ago. Nearly $5 a share may look bad but you have to see where it was to keep things in perspective. Hesse has continually moved things in the right direction and I don't see that about to change.
Great phones and great rates are exactly what attracts customers and a ...
Re: If the AT&T/T-Mobile merger goes through...
Sprint wasn't going to have Apple dictate what it's rate plans would look like. They can keep the iPhone. I'm perfectly fine with the capabilities of Android AND our rate plans.
Re: Incorrect Transfers
you should work in a store where you can wear six or seven hats at once
Re: Worst Phone Ever Per Carrier
Mirror images of a problem. The Pre had a quality OS but the hardware was sh!t, the TP2 was built with quality hardware but Windows OS was always a huge, worthless pain
Re: Worst Phone Ever Per Carrier
good call, it didn't help that they claimed 15 days of stand-by for a battery that didn't last 15 minutes.
I haven't trusted a phone that doesn't have a replaceable battery since. **looks over at Sprint's Upstage
Re: Nice incentive but......
.....or its a smart move by a company that realizes it still needs incentive to bring customers back who left for once-horrible customer service.
And while they've scaled back the amount of overseas call centers they are still out there. At least one is in the Carribean somewhere. I'm perfectly ok with accents I can understand. Those guys never sound stressed out
RE: train its employees to lie
wanna take a guess on what network Cricket operates on? They own very of the towers they operate on. Google it. I'll give you a guess though it starts with an S
Re: 'As long as customers remember--
You go to a website and type your phone number in. I'm sure some people will forget and as a rep I wish they'd auto-apply the credit but it's still a great offer and a very simple process if they just had to have one.
Re: This is a great incentive!
Thanks for the level head John. As an employee of Sprint's and someone who's been in the wireless industry for over ten years I appreciate the changes Dan Hesse has brought to the table as well. Healthy competition is good for all parties involved. I don't think we'd see the likes of the Evo if it wasn't for the innovation of the Iphone. Verizon and AT&T customers wouldn't see their bills getting lower today if it wasn't ...
