you can change your voicemail and missed calls to www.youmail.com they will send you a text message for free who left you voice mail or who's call you missed even if your phone was off... plus you can check your voice mail online... it's so great... it does have a few small adds, but hey it's free and beats the visual voice mail cause now you can get everything online. And you can also set custom greetings ...

They never promised those features in Voyager. I got V11 as well and all it did was fix some bugs with V09 and put that dragable icons in shortcut menu. it also updated virtual voice mail and that's about it.

Just got the new version. don't see any difference between V09 and V11. Anyone have release notes? VZW rep said it has some new games and enhancements for visual voice mail. That's about it.

R u sure you have V11? I didn't hear anything about the release of that version. Can you drag the menus like in Dare? that was supposed to be V11 enhancement.

Spoke to vzw Rep and he said that even though my phone has the latest firmware, there is another one specifically for this visual voice mail that a technician needs to apply.

The original review said that you need data plan to have html browser. regular internet would only give you v2.0. Although it doesn't make sense why would a phone have two different browsers.

there is no phisical tab on MicroSD... and I've never heard it being locked. why don't you try to copy everything from the card to the pc... format the card again through the phone and put everything back... maybe there was some glitch.

is the cable faster then bluetooth? bluetooth is working at 35kbs per second with the phone. I wonder if cable will do any better.

I've used vx9800 and vx8500... it starts taking the phonebook, but then it stops the normal speed and goes into a slow upload, which doesn't do anything.
What you need to do is get the list off your phone first, then update the list on your pc with import from excel or outlook, and send the data back to the phone. If it starts behaving strange, then kill it and start again. After a few tries I got ...

if you have vcast, I believe there was a statement that any data/internet activity will be free. I was hoping, by paying for vcast, I get all internet/data including aim free. otherwize 15 bux a month is useless :-(
Charger and bitpim VX9900
I ordered the phone and can't wait to get it... meanwhile, I wanted to ask those who have it few last questions:
1. Is the charger the same as vx8100/vx8300... can something be cut off from the plug, to fit it in 9900 or it's totally different socket?
2. In bitpim, can you use some other phone's settings to manipulate 9900? or do you have to go through filesystem to upload evertying manually?

I am not asking people to choose a phone for me. I don't like 8600 because of bad battery and lack of standard headset jack. In general, it's always nice to hear someone else's opinion (obviosly not yours) about various phones and what people prefer and why.

Have you used DUN over bluetooth with 9900 or 8600? I'm using it with 8100 and I hear that newer phones are capable of tracking your data usage separately from vcast or other vzw apps, and charge you monthly fee. Where as 8100 does not have DUN by default, but can be modified through the registry and you got yourself a free Internet on occasional basis.

I have been following your reputation on LG forums and would like to get your opinion on which vzw phone you would suggest today?
I currently own vx8100 and thinking about getting something new. I don't want vx8300 because the front buttons can't read txt. Other than that it looks like a great phone replacement for 8100.
At the moment I am debating between vx8600 and vx9900. Which one would you recommend?

Battery life as 8300 or as 8100 or worse
Does the battery last as long as the 8300? or as 8100. I know it has less power, but maybe there is a software update that makes the battery just as powerful as 8300.
Questions to Phone Owners
I have few questions for the phone owners:
1. Does this phone have a regular headset jack? or do you have to use proprietary cable to connect on the bottom?
2. Does it use the same battery as 8100/8300?
3. Does it have announce alert, when the phone reads to you who's calling or texting from your phonebook? 8100 has that feature and I love it.
4. Can it be hacked to use EVDO connection through bluetooth on your PDA or Laptop, ...

Has anyone been able to download vindigo citiguide using V07? after I updated my phone to version 7. vindigo is no longer there (along with a lot of other apps) I called verizon and they are saying that they are rewriging a lot of softwares... don't know if they need to do any rewriting. But I miss this app it was very useful :-(

they've been working on it for more than 2 weeks and saying that they will fix it as soon as possible... They should have notified people that update wouldn't just erase apps, but they wouldn't be able to download new once until the issue is resolved.
V07 problems
I have to say that every time I get my phone updated there are positive aspects and then there are negative. I'm not even going to mention update to V04 when internet was lost.
V07 has increased the volume and reduced camera delay and that's about it.
Vcast apps are not available to download because the database can't figure out for 2 weeks what's going on... why the list is so small--> I wish they would have told ...

has that software been released? I hate it when my battery is low and I want to talk in the car with bluetooth... and I can't due to inability to charge and use at the same time...
btw I haven't had those problems before I upgraded the phone to the latest and greatest software... everything is bad after the upgrade (BT not working while charging, DUN not working at all.... only mp3 player is there, which I don't ...
Has anyone got DUN working with new software?
I am still recovering from the software upgrade that I did to my phone, which disabled my DUN :-( if anyone came up with anything please let me know.
