Has anyone tried bitpim 7.36 yet?

I have 7.35 and it works great with the 8100. But I am wondering if anyone has used 7.35 yet and if so, what are the changes/improvements?

Also, I recently got an LG 4650 to replace a defective Kyocera SE47. Anyone know if either bitpim 7.35 or 7.36 will work with the 4650?

Thanks!!

Oops I meant if anyone has used 7.36 in my post (typo). So I downloaded it (couldn't wait) and it does work with 4650. Also, I want to backup contacts from 2 phones, the 8100 and 4650. Does anyone know how to do this? Seems bitpim just wants to overwrite what is already there or merge the 2 together. But I want to be able to keep the contacts separate from each other if possible.

I am new to this whole bitpim thing. Just figured it all out and was able to successfully transfer ringtones using a bluetooth adapter on my pc. It was awesome. I just realized today after reading this, that I am using 7.36. Don't know how to compare, but it works great for me.

Hi Mary,
Have you had problems w/ the new Bitpim and uploading your Phonebook? Some of my numbers didn't come out completely. Also, (I realize its a stupid question) do I need to use the filesystem, or can I just drag & drop the files onto the phone using the export thing?
I've read all the hofo nonsense and figure it out using the new bitpim.
Thanks,

Actually, the only thing I have used it for so far is ringtones, so I'm afraid I cannot help on that issue. If I get some time later, I'll play around with it a little and see what I can figure out.

I just dl the newer version 7.37 and it seems to work good. Today is the first time I used bitpim anyway. I successfully added a midi ringtone, and an mp3 as a ringtone! I get an error trying to get data from the phone for the calandar. All others seem to work.

I got a data USB cable and downloaded bitpim. That's all you need. Then follow the instructions. I'm new to this too.

Oh my, there is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooo much you can do, it's too much to go into detail. As far as Bitpim, it is a program you can download then use to put ringtones onto your phone via a Bluetooth USB adapter or a data cable. The link to download Bitpim is:

http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/#download. »

Depending on which way you are going to transfer info, you can do a search on here because there is a ton of info. I don't know how to do it via a data cable because I use Bluetooth, but most use the cable and there are a lot of instructions for it on here. Search for whatever it is your looking for and you will pull up all sorts of great info.

Any differences on 7.37 vs 7.36? I downloaded 7.36 over 7.35 just because I needed bitpim to be compatible with both the 8100 and a new 4650 that we got a couple of weeks ago.

But a question on bitpim - anybody find a way to export the contacts from 2 phones into bitpim, and keep them saved separately in bitpim? I don't want to merge them.

Thanks.

just export it to .csv file and upload it back when you need it.

Thanks arkady2k, but what is a .csv file? Is that like a word document?
