Is Butler stable and compatible???
I'm using a Treo 650 on VZW. I use VersaMail and MergicVPN...no other 3rd party apps. The damn thing is as stable and dependable as I could ever wish for.
Butler, however, adds a few nice features that I'd like to have. I've heard about all the issues that some 3rd party apps cause, so I'm reluctant to get it.
Does anyone have any experience with it??? Good or bad.

I hate to say this, but you should probably do a hard reset and reinstall Acrobat. But pay attention to the apps you're re-installing because one of them could be the culprit. Put Acrobat on first, then check the stability. Add another app (assuming you had more than just Acrobat) and check stability again...and so on. Often times, another app is causing a corruption.

Versamail really doesn't "sync" w/ Outlook, it syncs with a mail account. you'll need to know the name of your mail server. depending on how your mail server is set up, you "might" need a VPN client as well. you really didn't give enough details in your post to solve this problem.

this is a really simple one...
after you've hit the "dash" button, hit the "alt" button. it'll give you a bunch of alternative symbols associated with the "dash". it defaults to the "underscore".

I'm not sure I understand the problem. You should be able to install the Palm desktop on your PC, then sync directly to it. The Mac OS really doesn't have anything to do with the Palm device.
Give it a shot first, then come back if you're still befuddled.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't do that with VersaMail. You CAN do that with WirelessSync, but if you have to use a VPN to tunnel into your corp. network, DO NOT use WirelessSync. It'll drive you bonkers. I went through it all. I bought Mergic VPN and started using VersaMail and have not had an issue since (it's been about a month.) It's not as convenient, but it's better than rebooting ...

I get a few less bars with this phone than with my LG 6000, but I still don't drop any more calls than usual (which isn't a lot, anyway.) A tech rep told me that it's because I'm pulling my signal from "data" towers with this phone. Who knows?? I have Verizon and live in Northern NJ, and work in NYC. My coverage is fantastic, everywhere from Indiana to Atlanta, and north to Boston, Mass.

I also noticed that my signal was weaker (fewer bars) when I switched to a smartphone (Treo 650), but I'm not dropping calls as you said you are. Tech support says that it's b/c their coverage from their data towers is not as good as their digital coverage...
either way, i'm still happy, and i really like the 650.

true...they ship in two days or less. i went into PA and found one at a CircuitCity Verizon counter. If you're near PA, and you can't wait, try that.

don't forget one major point:
the blackberry is a proprietary OS. the sammy is microsoft.
i'm in the same boat you're in...not sure what to get. thinking about the treo 650, but i think i'll wait for the i730. definitely not blackberry...unless my company forces one on me, which they're considering doing.

I too know many very "capable" people who have the 650 and complain constantly about the phone automatically re-booting without any input whatsoever. Obviously, they've all been Cing or Sprint. I'm hoping that VZW won't have the same issues. I've waited so long for this phone, and I've even considered jumping carriers.
