Verizon PalmOne Treo 650 VS Kyocera 7135

I am currently a Kyocera 7135 user with Verizon. I love the palm but the phone, ah, well, ever since I have activated it 2 years ago has dropped way to many calls. Even the signal strength is always terrible.. So before I upgrade to the PalmOne Treo 650, and spend a lot of cash again on a smartphone, has anyone had the same experience and can talk to the signal and call loss difference between the two models?

I also noticed that my signal was weaker (fewer bars) when I switched to a smartphone (Treo 650), but I'm not dropping calls as you said you are. Tech support says that it's b/c their coverage from their data towers is not as good as their digital coverage...

either way, i'm still happy, and i really like the 650.

THE BIG THING IS THAT ALL THE PDA/SMARTPHONES ARE ALL DIGITAL AND DEPENDING ON THE AREA YOU LIVE IN THAT MAY PLAY A MAJOR PART IN THAT... I USED THE MOTO V710 AND HAD GREAT COVERAGE ONCE I SWITCHED TO THE TREO 650 THE COVERAGE WAS NOT AS GOOD IN THE FRINGE AREAS BUT AROUND TOWN AND IN MY HOUSE AND MY BUSINESS I HAVE NO PROBLEMS. NOW THE DATA PART OF THE PHONE WILL ONLY WORK ON THE VERIZON 1X NETWORK SO IF YOU ARE ON EXTENDED NET YOU WILL NOT GET YOU MAIL AND SUCH.. ALSO DONT FORGET TO DO THE *228 TO HELP IMPROVE THE SERVICE ON THE PHONE.

Be aware that you didn't need a data plan with the 7135, but with the Treo Verizon will force you to choose a data plan.

I'm a heavy Grafitti user. I have a 4-way pen with a stylus in it, for example.

I went to add a new contact... I couldn't write it in, I had to move all over the keyboard, and God forbid you want to cut or copy and paste an entry. It takes three strokes to cut it and 4 to re-paste it back in. My portable is a Tablet (Acer).

For the Treo650, the stylus is there as a pointer. It's nothing more than a glorified Blackberry... I say glorified because I love the Palm OS... Although, one of my main reasons is how well it integrated pen with the applications.

Unfortunately, Verizon no longer supports Kyocera 7135 so when I dropped my phone, the insurance company sent me a Treo 650. "You'll love it. It's even better than the ...
