Motorola is now accepting pre-orders for the Aura, with a price tag of 1,999.00 Two grand, and it doesn't even have 3G?! Motorols makes some bizarre design decisions sometimes.

The reason the Iphone is so thin is partly because it has no 3g capability. Sorry, I'd rather have high speed data than be able to say I have the thinnest smart phone.

No, the idea is that you use the external diaplsy and existing camera for (for example) a video conference call, with the phone closed.

The HSDPA version (V9) runs the synergy interface, the CDMA version, and the EDGE version (V8) run the linuz interface.

It's been available since early July to business customers (to which it is still restricted). I just ordered one, I should have it next tuesday.

It shows on the Cingular Premier site for the DOJ, but not on the regular Cingular site. I guess DOJ employess are considered "business" customers. A few weeks ago, the DOJ Premier site was highlighting a camera phone sale for all DOJ employess, which is rather funny, considering we can't have cameras in the building.

Hasn't been released?! You can order it right now from Motorola.

Actually, it looks like they are trying to sell to the large number of customers that cannot have a camera in their workplace.
