Man, the data is dog-slow on this thing
I'm used to the Sidekick II and the Treo, both of which deliver e-mail way faster. Yahoo Mail takes 3 to 4 minutes, just to find out the titles of the messages you have.
Maybe I'm not getting edge in my area? I certainly should be, downtown Birmingham al.

I also have that problem, with all the edge phones, and I know i'm in a edge network area...I heard a rumor that edge only worked with the data connect plans e.g. laptops, etc. but I can't get a straight answer out of my cingular rep. so I don't know. I do know what you're talking about though.

Well, if you don't have the add-on high speed data plan, then no, you are not using EDGE, you are just using your phone as a 14.4 modem.

Actually you DONT need a data plan you should be able to take full advantage of EDGE on this phone with our service. You may not be getting a good signal for edge, if possible see if local store can let you "try" their in the store and see if it works better. if so exchange by mail.
