Re: Eris or Droid
Just searched in the marketplace under "keyboard", got 315 matches, a lot are skins for keyboard programs and it seems like the keyboard programs cost a couple bucks - but I didn't spend a ton of time searching either.
Re: starting new contract, any way?
Ah, got ya. Thanks.
Re: starting new contract, any way?
Annoying indeed since I'd like to know what I do. But then if I dropped the VPack and went to the data, I'd lose the Nav but I don't use it much, but it's nice to have.
Oh well :-)
Re: starting new contract, any way?
But wait, according to their site, their nationwide premium still offers the VPack
Re: starting new contract, any way?
Ah, thank you for that.
While I have your ear ... how much data does that 9.99 get you ?
Right now I'm paying 99.99 for nationwide premium 900, which includes 900 minutes, of course, plus internet, unlimited text and the VCast Vpack.
I hardly use the internet and I'm wondering if I can save myself a few bucks a month by changing to a 9.99 plan, but I can't tell how much data I use monthly right now, can't find it ...
Re: starting new contract, any way?
Thanks for that Azeron .... and Texas ... what do you mean about removing and adding data, etc.,?
My old 8700 and the touch are able to be on the same plan, the touch isn't "smart" lol.
Or do mean the fact that I have to have data w/the touch? (I forget, but I think I do need the data w/the touch)
starting new contract, any way?
So, I got an EnV Touch in June of this year, which brings me to June of 2011 w/this 2 year contract.
I really would like something other than the Touch, it's a brick, I like it, but darn it's big. Used to have the LGVX8700, still have it and can switch back to it, I know this.
Was wondering if any of you know if I can sign a new 2 year contract and get promo pricing on a ...
Re: I Got It To WORK!!!!!
Does the enV3 remember the words after a period of time? I have the EnV Touch and it will remember the words you teach it for a couple hours, but then they seem to disappear from memory, very frustrating.
PLMK.

Re: Push email?
Hi, as others have stated, only a smartphone, blackberry, etc. will "push" email onto your device and let you know almost immediately if you have new mail.
With this phone you can set up email accounts and it will check every so often and alert you to a new message. There are a number of settings for the phone alerting you - I have mine set to "never" alert me when I get a new message as I don't ...
Re: T9 Texting??
It's been my experience w/this phone that switching from T9 to ABC will, in fact, put the word into the phone, however I've noticed the word doesn't STAY in the phone. Seems to be in a temporary cache or something.
Have you had success getting words to stay in the dictionary for more than a day ?
If so, what are the precise key strokes, ie Abc, type word, hit space, then go back to T9, or Abc, ...
Re: Incredible!
I agree, this is awesome!
I don't agree that it won't come though - carriers are already getting 'yelled' at for crippling different phones built in capabilities, ie GPS, but they are loosening their grips at bit (aka VZW!),
I think all it will take is a carrier or two to be an early adopter of NOT crippling the technology for others to follow suit and/or the smart folks out there who hack the phones and get us ...
Re: I'm buying a new cell phone, and I need help!
I can't help you w/an answer, but I have to say that my 8700 has been my most favorite phone EVER! I'm due for my NE2 and I'm going to get this 8700 replaced (the screen has an issue) and hang onto my credit until something appeals to me. I'm thinking of going 'smartphone' but am not sure I want that route yet.
~sigh~ I love my 8700.
New Phone Rumors?
Hi All,
I'm up for my NE2 and still struggling w/smartphone vs dumbphone, nothing seems to scream "buy me" right now and I'm wondering what the word is for models for mid to late '09? Isn't there an LG Prada or something? I think I'd like a smartphone, but not sure if I want a BB and the Omnia ~eh~ didn't really impress me.
Looking for the rumor mill. I can keep my LG 8700 until something great ...
Re: Motorola Napoleon
Is Verizon getting the Pearl Flip?
Re: still 299, worth it?
I don't throw away $ unless it's worth it. Do you use this phone? How long have you had it, likes/dislikes, etc.?
Thanks
Re: still 299, worth it?
I have, and I'm wanting to know if this is worth 300 bucks. Tx
Re: yes. definition-ish
Yes, that helps tremendously. I guess the only way to find out what I'm going to like/dislike is to use one for a while. What I hate, is when things don't work correctly and annoy me, over and over, ie if I were constantly dealing w/false positive 'clicks' w/this phone and it leading me to places I had no intention of going, I can see myself chucking it across the room :-)
Email Push Question
Looking at my first smartphone and the BB's are in the mix ... what I'm curious about is the whole email push thing. My work mail is not an exchange server. Also, if I want to check my email when I'm not at work I have to log in via a dedicated website, much like if you check your comcast or verizon personal email, you have to go to mail.whatever.com and log in w/your name and password ...
Re: still 299, worth it?
anybody, anybody .... Bueller, Bueller ....
still 299, worth it?
Looking at this, or the Omnia, or maybe even a BB, just wondering if the 299 price (that's w/my NE2 discount) is worth it?
Tx
Re: Really a Touch Screen?
One of the reviews, or cons, about the Dare was that it's not a true "touch", ie light touch, move your finger and the device responds, but that it's more of a push and touch/slide, where you have to put a bit of pressure down to get it to, say, scroll, which can mess things up and cause you to 'click' on things you were not intending to click on.
I have played w/iphones and love the response when ...
Really a Touch Screen?
Hey all,
I'm wondering if this phone is really a true touch screen, or if you have to push while touching like the Dare? (at least that's how I understand the Dare is based on the reviews I read?)
Thanks
Re: Verizon Femtocell...FINALLY!
You realize you're arguing w/somebody w/the handle "Verizon Sux", right? No matter what you do and/or say, I'm sure this Verizon hater will have nothing but bad stuff to say, I wouldn't waste my time if I were you.
Some people (not you) have nothing better to do than start fights.
Re: Plan/Bill Question
I would use it for work for certain, having access to my email, and the 'net, PLUS certain files, info, etc., would be great - that's the key, really, the MS Word files I'd need. I guess I could get a PDA w/wifi (since it's everywhere now it seems) and I could use that if I needed it, but then I'm talking carrying two things around, yuck. I should have gotten the Q when I could ...
Re: Wow it's now free for NE2 upgrade!
How did you even get to select a "connect" plan w/this phone? When I go in to upgrade, I can only select from either basic, select or PDA/Smartphone plans. I wanted to try the 900 minute connect plan for 89.99, but I can't w/this phone evidently.
I'm wondering if I upgraded my plan to the connect plan I want if I could THEN select the Omnia as a new phone w/o having to change plans again?
Hmm
Re: Plan/Bill Question
I just went online and was messing around w/VZW's upgrade your phone, etc., section and I CANNOT select the 'connect' plans if I select the Omnia as a phone.
What a joke.
Re: Plan/Bill Question
Based on what anarchy said
"...there is a new connect plan that includes 900 mins, unlimited txt, unlimitde megabytes, and mobile email. Its $89.99 for the 900 min plan.
Its not for smartphones, but great for the Dare or Versa. "
I don't understand why it wouldn't be for 'smartphones'
And, now I get that the Omnia IS a smartphone, lol, thanks for that. If it's unlimited data then it should be for any phone, right?
Re: Plan/Bill Question
Stupid Q time: Why would that not be for smartphones? And, is the Omnia a smartphone, or are only the Blackberry's w/the email pushing considering "smart".
I think I would like a PDA, but I only want to be connected to my email if I want to be, ie I don't want the thing going off every time I get a message, but if I wanted to go online and check it I could.
I wanna be connected, but ...
Re: Plan/Bill Question
Yeah, I'd be in a lot of debt if I did, giant phone bill!
I think I'll wait for being completely connected (ie an Omnia) I just can't justify the $$ right now and I pay Verizon a TON a month for cable, internet, home phone x 2 and the VZW service.
Thanks!
Plan/Bill Question
Hi All,
My NE2 is up now and I'm eligible for a discount on a new phone (w/a new 2 year agreement of course).
My plan right now is Nationwide Basic 900 (59.99 month/900 minutes) and +$10 for unlimited IN text and 500 texts to anybody on any network = 69.99/month plus fees, tax.
I'm still contemplating going w/something like the Omnia but an extra $30/month is a bit much right now for me, so I'm thinking of tweaking my plan a ...
Re: Can I use WIFI even if I don’t have the internet package?
When I look online to replace my phone it shows me the phones that are compatible w/my current plan (Nationwide Basic 900 minutes 59.99) and it shows the Omnia as one of those phones that I can use w/my plan ... I do not have data, why would it show me the phone would work?
I'm considering a smart phone also and would also not use the online enough to warrant an extra $30/month (I give Verizon enough $$ between ...
Re: LG VX8700, not sure if I should replace w/same or get a new phone
Thank you for that, do you mind if I ask what you had prior to the C3?
Re: LG VX8700, not sure if I should replace w/same or get a new phone
I'll try to get a 'hands on' feel for it, but I think I already know that I'm just going to replace the 8700 w/another one and hang onto my NE2 until something new appeals to me.
Thank you for your input and help!
:D
Re: LG VX8700, not sure if I should replace w/same or get a new phone
oh wait, that's probably the 8350 that's being phased out.
I used to have another LG that was similar in looks to this 8360 - but it was fat.
Re: LG VX8700, not sure if I should replace w/same or get a new phone
I think that is the one they are phasing out? No, maybe not? Is it as thin as the 8700?
LG VX8700, not sure if I should replace w/same or get a new phone
Looking for opinions.... I LOVE, with a capital L my LG VX8700, but a couple weeks ago the main screen stopped working correctly, sometimes it's on, sometimes it's very hard to see. With the amount of texting I do, it's a necessary part of the phone, nevermind being able to see who you are calling :-)
Right now I'm using a moto somethingorother that I HATE for various reasons, I've used LG's for so long now I'm so used ...
GPS Question
I know the GPS is locked on this vzw version phone unless you have VZ navigator, my questions are these:
1. VZ Nav is one monthly price, right? Not per minute of navigation? I'm looking at this phone w/o the data plan (or pay as you go since I only plan on popping online here and there to check email using WiFi). Other times when wifi is not available would be so few and far between ...
Re: PDA Plan/Assistance, please
It does help, thank you. I'm not certain that I want 24/7 emails coming in. I think I'd rather be able to log on when I want and check them ... so I'm thinking more of a standard PDA than one that is a phone too ? Ack, I dunno.
PDA Plan/Assistance, please
OK, I'm not new to VZW and love my little LG VX8700, it's small and works great for me.
I'm thinking of adding a PDA into my life and I'm not certain that a phone/pda is what I want or need. I think that if I have a combo unit I'm going to miss my LG's small form in my pocket/purse and always be a bit worried about a more expensive toy being snatched.
What I'd like to do is ...
free WAP on this phone?
Can anybody point me in the direction of setting up my phone for a free WAP access?
I did it a lonnnnng time ago on my 8100, but never used it, didn't really like it at the time. I'd like to try it on this phone and see if I do like it.
I know it will use airtime minutes, so I'll probably only mess w/it at night and over the weekends, unless I need something ASAP.
Thanks
