Re: Dear God, please don't tell Apple about this.
C'mon in the aggregate the imessage problem makes it seem that people who switch from Iphone become shunned by all their friends. This effect is just WAY too close to apple's marketing suggestions to be unintentional. Also, I agree, It's been like this with every apple product. Imac: Reasonable Person: "this is a slow PC for double price" Apple User: "derp" Iphone: Me: "this is a cell phone with an mp3 player glued to it for double the price of each." Apple User: "derp"
Re: Not being reversible is a feature not a bug
Your conditioning is apparent in your comment; it amounts to nothing but a rhetorical trick, and a FOOLISH ONE, AT THAT. I think the phrasing you're looking for, rather than 'simplify', is "make convenient to the detriment of those skilled and for the benefit of those unskilled." It is not what "WE" have done, but rather those who seek to exploit the weaknesses of others for their personal gain. But what's wrong about making things a bit easier for the little ...
_YOU_ don't get the point.
There is a big difference between feature phones and smart phones: They are not compatable with the systems that are used to mine metadata and so are a smart way to boycott big data. They are stylish as hell; they are a phone, not a compressed and ****ty laptop. Texting is actually MUCH faster with a T9 on a number pad. Anybody who says different never went through the golden age of texting. Swyping is ghey. Really really ghey. Snake II is ...
Re: iPhone users are required to buy a special carrying case
Just me, or did Apple not bring anything to the MWC?
Re: This is why Samsung copied Apple....
Plastic = less weight and more insulation against shock. Therfore, I would say that plastic is superior for metal in phone design.
If samsung is expecting a general rejection of android for business purposes? The risk of google conducting industrial espionage? And then we just heard about the Apple breach.. apparently there's a gaping security hole in how all of apple's software works..
Re: How dare you?
Guys, he's not missing an eye. It's so that he can switch to that eye in low-light conditions and have his pupil pre-enlarged. C'mon.
Re: Taking bets now!
Facebook has to be in decline. I hardly ever log on to that mess anymore and not many people I know do either.. is it still popular among.. any circles? I keep hearing radio announcers beg me to like their crap.. now that I see this forum topic, I'm worried. Have people actually been liking their crap???!!! 8O
Re: They can't be serious lol.
Yeah the company was run HORRIBLY for a long time there. I think you can only blame the board of directors (and whoever's money backed the majority of shares in question) for that. After sabotaging the company at exactly the right time for Windows phone to make its debut (oh ho?), those big money backers disappeared and blackberry was free to see if they could get back on their feet. A lot of people (especially in foreign markets) are wise ...
Re: who can blame t-mobile?
Mmhmm. Google is an information company. That's why they have so many apps; they pay big bucks to developers for even the ****tiest of apps (because they pluck EVERYTHING and send it to google). I'd never use one of those devices, or any of its little bitch apps, knowing that I'd automatically and undeclinably be part of an aggregate study by [insert group/company].
Well its not really legal to market in such a way, is it not?
The S5 could be a rocky road for samsung. I hear many customers each day saying how they are sick of iphones, and they just went through the "fumbling fives". Consumers are just starting to get Ess-Foures, do they really want to aspire to the Ess-Five? Iphone is going to have to name its device something other than "Iphone six" because it doesn't sound as good as the "phone phour" or the "phone phive" (alliteration, homies!). People are "sick" ...
Re: I hope it Fails
Yeah, just another tale of a weaker country getting its top buisnesses 'boarded' and scuttled for booty. Just a natural part of pirate capitalism. It happens a lot here in Canada, Americans will buy up the shares, take over the board and then rip the company to pieces for the benefit of other businesses in more 'Imperialist' countries. It's globalism, it's capitalism, it's international trade, it's wealth redistribution into the hands of the 0.001%
Re: Kill Bill switch
I bet you 50$ that the killswitch first dumps all the info to the NSA
Yup. Verizon and AT&T are the companies which actively participated in constructing the "big brother machine" during the last decade. True story. BBC ran a documentary about it, basically they installed a central computer with viewing access to the full network.. and beyond!
The only thing Apple has in mind is marketing, it's all they ever have had in store. Think about it. Original Mac: Marketing success Ipod: Marketing success Iphone: Marketing success Steve Jobs: Marketing success Nothing they ever did was really different. They have always just taken an emerging technology being developed by multiple entities and made it "sexier".
Hah Apple's now "too big to fail". Watch for a bailout in 2017.
Guys, srsly, guys.
What we need is a small, yet potent amount of plastique embedded into every mobile device, so that if someone steals it, it can be remotely operated to hilarious effect. Nothing else will avert phone thievery. Nothing.
Re: Except for a Korean court, which also struck down Samsung
Yeah, Apple is like america's last brand now. I mean, what else is there, Nike? Google is too international.
Re: WF is so invested they are paying people to USE it!
Yes! Fraud is so rampant today, the Fed prints unlimited money as it suits them, and the only thing that they have to back their monetary policy is a neverending steam of DEBT, issuing forth from the public in a great font of impulse purchases. It is the wise counsel of Bernanke which reminds us, "if that many of our people owe that much, we've got to be worth something!" Hook up the mobile phone credit! If the people ...
Re: Disregard the G Flex
Well this is a 'new tech' device. It would make sense for LG to throw one together for the consumer that wants to be ahead of the curve (hah), but it'll probably take years more for successful implementation, bit by bit. TLDR; Company can make money off releasing gimmick. Company will release gimmick (..with stats enough to say it's not just a gimmick and prevent blowback). Eventually, this will probably mean that phones in general are 5-10% more resistant to breakage due ...
Re: Other easy-phones?
Sweet! Thanks :D
Re: Facebook Home
lol. I bet facebook found that android users are more prone to use.. other sites. You know, that don't advertise/steal your information quite as blatantly? I bet you they found that they only tested postivie enough with iphone users, blind brand followers that they are :P
I have a friend who was kind of out of the loop for a while, and would like to get them a smartphone eventually. Issue is, she's not an octogenarian (so no use for the health alert features). Are there any other devices with an uber-simplified user interface (that isn't licenced by jumpstart)?
Re: North-amero-centric worldview.
Yeah its true I do have south american sympathies. Kudos to induction skillz. Times are interesting at the moment, but overall the vibe seems to be gentle change across the board. Pleased that the international banking economy has competiton now in the form of cryptocurrency. It's a very interesting development, since with this internet-based monetary system that is coming into its own under bitcoin's success-umbrella, there is no room for industry collusion and shady dealings. It's all monitored with ...
Re: North-amero-centric worldview.
LoL. I'm in Canuckistan currently, but I spent a lot of time in southeast asia. How goes it?
Re: What about Cupcake, Donut and EcClair?
See, eventually you have to realise that most of the world still uses these 'legacy' devices and still sell new in many locations around the world. I realise it's funny from a north-amero-centric worldview, but they generate just as much business as an Iphone 5s does.
Imagine if the service was called something like "Sprint Drive" - it would definitely cause issues.
But who the %&$# cares about US retail figures? Here's the breaks - nobody cares about the US market anymore. It's broke and saturated.
Re: You're like a dumb young rat
Are you paid to bash BB on forums? Cause your information is inaccurate. It's actually Apple's business that is slowing down, and BB is excellently postured against Android (for those users who aren't, uh, thirteen and with a boner for games).
You're like a dumb young rat
Why the heck are you pooping? Easy target? Your response is a cliche. Some people don't care about the ability to play the latest re-iteration of fruit ninja. Some people use their phones as phones. BBos is actually very good for, you know, the main purpose of a phone?
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
A true forum warrior. Kudos to Slammer. Ave!
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
Do you think Apple is trying to have the technology go bluetooth (the new lite version) rather than nfc?
Re: Or you can get a Windows Mobile device and get Microsoft Office for free
I use a blackberry playbook (16gb version) which I picked up for less than 100 bucks. It's super fast, easy to use, plenty powerful, and looks like anything but a toy. Although like all tablets, it is
Re: Anyone going to try out Beat Music app/service tomorrow (Jan 21st)
I'm sure the good doctor is as involved with beats music as fitty-cent is involved with vitamin water.
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
Yup. Oh lil' buddy Magnagarde, you're upset that someone's made a sweeping generalization on a web forum. One day you'll be mature enough to understand the folly of your distress (that's what forumz doo). Plus I'd bet that you've either had private education or travel experience that disqualifies you from the preconceived category in question; don't try to stick up for them, just stick out for yourself.
Re: any app like netflix for BB?
checked it out, it'l allow you to play the movies (offscreen) on a computer and it'll transmit it to the phone via wifi.
Re: Apple products have bugs?!
Apple probably has the term "App" patented. If you like a solid system, give blackberry a shot some time.
Re: im curious
Uh.. why don't you just use a free radio app?
