So to be clear...
This will work on AT&T HSDPA+ bands?
Re: "Everything about the iPhone 5 is leagues ahead of the competition"
This is a true statement...if the competition is the iPhone 4s. While it is true that ultmately the phone you choose will be based upon personal taste and need, you can't argue with fact. The fact is that you can't be unbiased and say that this phone offers more from a technology standpoint than the Galaxy S III or the HTC One X. The HTC has been out for 8 months already. The Galaxy S IV is in the ...
Sorry AT&T customers...
...you're stuck with your own crappy service instead of picking up MY crappy service. I wouldn't pay $.50 for ALL of T-mobile. I'm getting out while the getting is good.
Re: iPhone....
MUCH better idea: let me pay $600 - $1200 for my device and go where I want to. Of course this only works out when they all use the same technology.
Really? Nothing?
I can't believe that this phone has generated ZERO chatter and ZERO reviews. Mine should be here this week so I'll be the first I guess. I mean, it's no Sensation or Gx2, but for a third the price, I figure it's worth a shot. I'm just looking to replace my MT4G and G2 until the iPhone 5 drops on Sprint and then I'm out of here.

Would love to see a form factor like this with a good camera and processor.
Port?
What is the rubberized "port" on the back near the bottom?
Re: Such a nice phone...
Really? Then you must be using a 2G phone if you think AT&T is a great carrier. I was with AT&T for over 6 worry-free and problem free years until the 3GS hit and then they sropped the price of the 3G. Their network (at least in the B-more/DC market) can't handle the additional bandwidth suckers and my dropped calles have gone through the roof. So far, Sprint has performed 100% oef the time with better call quality.
Re: Pre - Hero - Moment?
I have a Pre and am amazingly satisfied. I've pretty much had every Smartphone that is currently available through AT&T and Sprint and the Pre stands out. In many ways, I think it is what the iPhone should be. There are definitely things that the iPhone does better, but the Pre continues to amaze. The Hero is woefully under powered. It feels good in the hand, and is very thin, but laggy. Maybe that will be fixed by firmware, ...
Re: No contract option?
Thanks for the replies all.
rarodrig26 - Wouldn't you also just give back the devices if you cancel within the thirty days?Every other carrier that I have done this with over the past 10 years has just taken back the device and charged me for the minutes/data used.
No contract option?
Does Sprint offer a no contract option like T-mobile's FlexPay? I am EXTREMELY hesitant to sign 2 year deal. Also, is there a "trial period" in which I can cancel if I don't like the service?

Actually Windows Mobile doesn't suck. You just have to realize that just like regular Windows on your PC, you have to reformat and start fresh at regular intervals. I had an original Q9h, and even with being diligent and running SKtools everyday it still got slow. I updated with Win Mobile 6.1 and poof back up to speed. Now I reformat with Win Mobile 6.1 every 2 months. I've backed up everything and ...
DEAR GOD - WHY??!?!?!
Did someone at Samsung take a challenge to make the most unappealing phone possible that looks like a birth control pill package? Holy Jesus this thing is fugly!!
Re: jack or nokia e71x?
You're kind of between a rock and a hard place with this one. Windows in general just sucks. Memory leaks cause the OS to slow and lag. The E71 runs Symbian60 which is supposed to be better, but I found it equally slow and laggy. Both have a lot of apps, but neither have many that are free. If a robust email program is important to you then go with the Jack. The E71 is slimmer, sexier and better ...
This thing looks HUGE
Anyone have a chance to see this live yet?
Re: Att
WOW! Quite the Verizon fanboy aren't you? AT&T's coverage is fine. I get better signal strength in both 3G and Edge than I ever did with VZW in many places. It is true that VZW outperforms AT&T in some places. To state as a fact that their 3G network is 'garbage' is a completely baseless opinion. AT&T's 3G network does eat up battery life, but so does the CDMA 3G. It all depends on where you are as to ...
Re: Don't believe the negative hype...
Actually, Skippy, it is a FACT that my signal sucks. That is not an opinion. It is my OPINION that it is the same for many iPhone users based on all of the other opinions on here as well as other boards where the people posting are more technical and less fanboy-ish. Because my opinion & experience are different than yours doesn't make me ridiculous.
Re: Review process is flawed
Um yeah, but the thing (well one of them anyway) that people are complaining about is signal strength which directly impacts calls. I had my first dropped calls in over 2 years since I have had the iPhone. That makes my phone unreliable, thus unusable and thereby a zero. It doesn't matter how "sick" the OS is, or whether it has GPS (another battery killer) or a fold out toothpick if the phone can't get and maintain ...
Re: Fanboy denial does not help the cause
fanboy.
Re: Don't believe the negative hype...
Argue analogies all you want, but the bottom line is this: I bought it BECAUSE of the 3G not IN SPITE of the 3G. When you tell me that it is 3G I expect that I can use it when I like, for as long as I like without having to turn it on or off. That being said, if having it on kills the battery in less than 12 hours it is a POINTLESS phone. Don't get me ...
Re: 2.0 update messed up my iphone
You'd be better off checking out Howard Forums. You'll find far more technical answers over there.
Seriously...
What's the point? Who buys a phone primarily for the music capabilities?
Could it be?
A Nokia that will allow me to access my Exchange server while remaining small form factor AND let's me customize? I hope this one lives up to my expectations!

General Question
Don't know if there are any RIM insiders that read these, but does anyone know if they are planning on a 3G BB any time soon?
Re: AT&T Release Date....
So the 8525 is going away completely?
Re: AT&T Release Date....
Imagine that...a delay in releasing a phone. I have long ago learned to not believe it until I can lay my hands upon it. Having had pretty much every PDA phone released for CingulAT&T and some that weren't, this is the first one that got me excited in some time. I really liked my 8125, but soon after got the BJ with 3G and once you have 3G in a good market, there's no going back. I was ...
Re: Htc needs to learn from apple
Good arguments all, but...but it's what all the cool kids have!!! After all, it's FAR more important that people see my phone and think it's cool than to have it actually DO something. I mean if I can watch videos and listen to music and text message on my phone, what good is it? Use it to make calls? PLEASE! That's like sooooo 2005!!!
Re: Still No 3G
So how long have you been working for Verizon?
Re: ummm...
No doubt!
I wish Nokia would put their time, effort and money into developing a smaller Symbian phone that got the type of reception that their phones USED to get and had the build quality that their phones USED to have. They keep putting out these crappy "designer" phones that appeal to about 1% of the population or the ultra high end phones that only 1% of the population can afford.
Nice and compact
I like this design. If I didn't a more robust work-type phone, I'd buy it. There are a few things missing or in need of an upgrade, but not bad.
Re: MYSPACE IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!
It's amazing that anyone uses myspace. It's slow, laggy devoid of dynamic content and full of 13 year old j/o's that have nothing better to do that sit around and flame each other. When I was 13, we played basketball and baseball and actually did SOMETHING with ourselves... SHEESH!
Re: do people know how to parent their children?????
That's one take, but you caould also say that when someone is specifically buying a phone for their child, why not OFFER that as an option? My guess is that it's not because why would you turn away money that you're likely to get at some point. All kids are going to screw it up at SOME point, and if VZW can make another $50 or more because some kid texts until his fingers fall off, why not? I ...
WHY??!?!??!?!?!
Why in the name of god would you bother to release a phone without Bluetooth? Top of the line everything else and no Bluetooth? It makes no sense at all. Who is advising these phone manaufacturers? I just can't uderstand why any of them even bother to release a phone without high speed data, bluetooth and a speaker phone.
SGH-D307 Can I buy from Cingular?
I have the ability to purchase this phone from the Cingular site if I re-up my contract, but is there another way? I haven't been able to locate this phonr for sale on any other site including Ebay.
Re: 6102 Email
I tried the Movamail. I got it to work once or twice, but then something changed in the settings and I couldn't connect. If my data cable ever gets here, I'm going to try Blueinbox and I'll post results here.
Re: 6102 Email
Will do. I hope to have my cable by this weekend and try things out.
Re: 6102 Email
Thanks for the info. Just ordered a data cable so I think I'll try out the Blueinbox.
Re: 6102 Email
I have posted the same question in several forums with no response. The low volume issue can be fixed. Check this foum, it's in there somewhere. It's too bad this doesn't have email since it is a really nice phone in many other respects.
