Re: New Phone for Teens is Sext-Proof
So, teenagers being teenagers. The difference was back in your day there was no digital proof - but i'll bet you were around just as much ;)
Re: Send in the Clowns
Well.. as someone who travels the country and has an account with both carriers..
Sprint since the Nextel merger, has always been just a "do the bare minimum and use gimmicks to keep customers around", while T-Mobile actually put their money where their mouth is and ACTUALLY expanded coverage, while working on things like outsourced CS and antiquated policies.
T-Mobile ACTUALLY using Sprint's 2.5GHz and PCS holdings to it's full potential is most likely the best outcome for everyone, and will ...
Re: Snore
It's definitely better than Sprint. ANYTIME anyone calls me from Sprint.. VoLTE is either breaking up, or CDMA is so muffled I have zero idea what they're saying anyway. TRASH NETWORK
Re: 4G Plus
Some lawyer somewhere is just counting cash already thinking of this...
Re: Probably True
Yeah same here, I've had plenty of "No Service" spots on the map that my phone has still worked fine with 1-2 bars.
Re: Probably True
I've had the opposite around the Midwest, I'll go places that say they have zero service and it works fine, and it's been that way for over 10yrs with them.
I think maybe i've had the map be overly optimistic, usually it's very conservative, and i've yet to really find anywhere with totally unusable service.
Re: What on this phone
You know, iOS users do not even think about the salty samsung fans. We get it, the kia works for you but does not work for us ;)
Re: End of a Legacy
Since turning my Pixel to GSM/LTE only, i definitely have coverage gaps that would usually be filled easily filled in by CDMA
Re: No Thanks
Except I drop way more calls on my Sprint "free for a year" line than on T-Mobile or Verizon LTE (I have CDMA turned off on my VZ Pixel 2)
CDMA is only good if you give it proper capacity and cell spacing. Sprint likes to shove all of it's calls on a 1.25MHz block of CDMA in 800MHz causing it to sound super muffled and like crap on the EVRC-C Codec. I can ALWAYS tell when someone is calling ...
Re: So...
If Verizon and AT&T would actually jump on board with standards.. this would not be an issue.
Re: motorola z2 force projector
It's really up to the app developer.. not motorola
Re: Verizon sucks
It's because Verizon agreed to sell unlocked phones as part of the nationwide 700MHz license they got from the FCC.. But i'm willing to bet the're instituting this now during the republican ran FCC because they know they wont be questioned for violating the contract they agreed too.
Works great
I have the Dual-SIM version using an at&t AND T-Mobile SIM (both prepaid)
Connects to HSPA just fine on both networks and sound quality is decent.
Re: Iphone OS slows older iphones
Oh nice one.. Samsung manufactures how many phones?
Also If you want regular updates.. get a pixel. Straight from google and updates all the time, although it's nice to see the iPhone X have the same features that my Galaxy S6 had 3-4 years ago ;)
Re: LOL
They could do 5G.. The VoLTE is just because they do not have an IMS core for voice calls, has nothing to do with data.
Re: Complications
Except... that's exactly what Comcast did with Bittorrent
Let's not forget the whole letting peering points purposely go to hell just to extract $$$ from content providers.
People have a very short memory (yourself included).. These were the reasons that NN was put into place.. Because big ISP was long on their way to doing these things.
But hey, big business is going to be good THIS TIME right, since anytime we've let them be "free" before they've always just screwed the ...
Pivot anyone?
This is the same thing TWC did with Sprint back in the mid-2000s *yawn*
Pleased with what Lenovo has done with Moto
At first I was a little skeptical of Lenovo, but they've turned out to be very respectable.
I picked up a Moto Z Play last year, and i've found myself using it more than my Pixel and S7. It's a fairly solid performer with amazing battery life. If the camera were a little better i could use it 100% of the time!
So how about developing set top software..
Charter is stuck on SARA or iGuide in most spots (iGuide being *actually* usable)
Why not start using this partnership to get some new set top software going, you know something your customers will *want* to use?
Re: Crappy Network
Honestly, i get 50-100Mbps on 2500 most of the time, if this allows 2500MHz to fully penetrate a building, this is a good thing.
Usually the problem Sprint has is their network is in such high band, that indoors you are stuck on a small 5-10MHz chunk of LTE that's overloaded, this would fix that. I'm all for this.
So.. the same as the Moto Atrix?
Motorola once again, was way ahead of it's time....
Re: Dropped prices
It's GSM.. so it's decent. Surely better than Verizon or Sprint.
Re: RT Redux?
Well as long as it's 32-bit capable. I mean it's a step in the right direction i suppose, but was this not the purpose of Intel's Atom processors?
Re: I don't know
You are paying for that awful new logo that they felt the need to change
Re: $90 Per Month?
Considering the lower end Alcatel phones actually perform fairly well. I have a One Touch Fierce XL i keep as a backup and I could totally use it as my daily phone no problem.
Sure the screen is only 720p, but with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with a quad core snapdragon, it works quite well for the $110 I paid for it, actually handles multitasking better than my iPhone 6+ 128GB
Re: Trolldom at its Finest
I have accounts on Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. I hate to say it but Sprint has been extremely solid for about the last six months.
Usually i'll go places that VZW is sub 1-Mbps, T-Mobile is struggling to hold 3Mbps, and Sprint is pulling 80+Mbps just fine.
I never thought i'd see the day again when Sprint was a viable data option over Verizon/T-Mobile but it's happened.
Pandora did not evolve, this is what happens.
Pandora, while in 2000 it was AMAZING - It also had no real competitors.
Over the years, the "radio only" business model, lackluster audio quality, inflexible plans, having 10,000 ads per station, and simply not having the full music library of the others is what's killing them.
For instance, why would i pay Pandora $4/mo when I can pay the SAME thing to slacker and get the same functionality as well as a billion pre-programmed stations that I do not have ...
Re: That's always the way with Apple
Apple did not do anything wrong here, Phones have "connection managers" on them all the time.
People are still not going to look at this because the general population happen to be idiots when it comes to tech, all they know is how to click instagram or facebook and start complaining about something else that's happened that day.
Re: Remember when...
As i'm sitting here in downtown Phoenix with no service in my first floor condo, have to go out in the street to get 1-2 bars of service..
Luckily they FINALLY sent me a network extender for free after complaining for 2yrs about it
Re: Bands?
Well as a side note VoLTE "works" when calling non-Verizon users as well as i use it all the time and out west here I literally only know ~3 people on Verizon because the network kind of sucks in Phoenix (i keep because I have unlimited data/tethering)
But they need to get on using the second 850MHz block they own for LTE, as most of the phones they sell support it now, and just start winding down EvDO channels until ...
Re: Well
I take it you've never been overseas. LTE is almost non-existent in Europe, or on the PrePaid plans, it's not accessible where you can get it.
I go overseas every few months and let me tell you.. Vodafone and EE leave a lot to be desired just as much as the American carriers do, and we have quite generous data allotments compared to the other countries as well
Re: Way to parry words Verizon.
But hearing Verizon complain about this, is totally unrealistic too.
Verizon has all the $$ they've been draining from their wireline assets over the years, plus if i recall all of their 850MHz licences (a bulk of their holdings) were freebies handed out to their original parents back about 30yrs ago.
Verizon just needs to can it already and worry about finishing rolling out their "XLTE" and densifying their urban networks to make them acceptable to use in big cities again.
This ...
Re: All Carriers Will Have This
Well considering that my work-provided Verizon Wireless line cannot even work near or inside of my house in Downtown Phoenix speaks volumes about the "value" of 700/850MHz holdings (Verizon has all of the 850MHz, and a 10x10 chunk of LTE on 700MHz plus AWS here)
Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile (all PCS providers) can work inside my house just fine.
It's all about where you are and what works best for you. Verizon i'll usually get about 1-bar of 1x - Just ...
Re: Can't wait...
Well unfortunately the private companies as usual have shown they cannot responsibly handle any public infrastructure, so this in the end will be a good thing.
This will ensure the caps are properly measured (no more of this ghost data crap), plans are fairly priced (see what some people are paying for data? it's ludicrous).
In this day and age the internet is parallel to our success as a nation and letting something that's that important be self-regulated and privatized will ...
Re: What a DEAL...Cricket OWNS prepaid!!
Well considering Cricket runs on AT&T's network now, then it's a no-brainer for you to go back
Re: Bank of America...... in 2015?
I'm 26, and BofA has always been really good to me (do not remember the last time i've spent money on a fee for anything)
And, unlike my credit union the website does not randomly go down around payday due to system glitches.
Overall i'm very happy with my Cash Rewards card, my Merrill Edge brokerage, and checking account there. Most months it works out as BofA paying me to have an account there.
Re: It's All Becomes Clear...
This is going to be the 80's all over again soon.. AT&T is doing it to themselves.
I cannot believe that they were allowed to even get back together in such a large fashion to begin with. This is what was broke up almost 40 yrs ago, just for our politicians to not learn from the mistake and let it happen again.
Re: Forget you At&t
Except for at this rate, soon only one real option will exist for customers and it will be Cable the way that the land-line companies are moving.
once this happens, we essentially have an pre-1980's OG AT&T style monopoly on here and if you're not old enough to remember what that was like (I certainly am not but coming form a techy family the stories were horrendous) This is certainly not what you want to happen, and it will ...
Everything so light?
What's going on with this new trend of everything having to be so white/light? if i wanted to burn my retinas out i'd get an iPhone!
I really hope they leave an option for those of us who prefer light text on a dark background as it's just easier to read.
