Not really. The $15 is a special deal. Other phones are closer to $27.

I don't like the $15 deal, because that just means after 18 months, the payoff figure is that much higher.

We can laugh all we want at the this Jerry Springer knockoff. John Legere may be a trash talker, but he is the man who brought competition to an industry controlled by 2 greedy giants. TMobile and Sprint have horrible coverage in my area, so my only options are Verizon and Att or their MVNOs and their 2nd tier proxies. Had it not been for John Legere, we would all be paying $200-300 for those overage based family plans, network expansion would be frozen and in a few years time, our network would rank as slow as Pakistans.

Yeah you're right. We would have a network that ranks on the level of Pakistan or Nigeria. It's all part of the lie we Americans we live under. We're constantly told how we're the best, yet we are almost 3rd world in a lot of ways. Our DSL/cable internet is among the slowest in the world. Asia has 1gbs internet speed. Here 20mbs is considered "blazing." The rest of the world has been using credit cards with smart chips in them for years, but here we still use swipers from 1993, because banks are too cheap to make the switchover. The rest of the world uses GSM while here most use a locked down CDMA handset that you can't take between providers and the operator tells you what phones you can use on their network. We constantly hear thi...

I take it you've never been overseas. LTE is almost non-existent in Europe, or on the PrePaid plans, it's not accessible where you can get it.

I go overseas every few months and let me tell you.. Vodafone and EE leave a lot to be desired just as much as the American carriers do, and we have quite generous data allotments compared to the other countries as well

But it is true that our consumer cable/DSL speeds are absolute garbage compared to numerous other countries.

Gotta consider the land area covered compared to other countries too though. If our entire country was the size of California then I bet our speeds would be much better.

That sounds like an excuse to me.

My girlfriend has a Cat 4 LTE device and can pull 100+ Mbps here in Canada on an MVNO (Virgin Mobile).

In the middle of nowhere, in a Hamlet (A town too small to be a town) called Jasper, in the middle of nowheresville, Ontario, I can pull 20 Mbps on Virgin's HSPA+ network.

I live in Canada, and use Virgin Mobile up here, an MVNO of Bell Mobility. My device is LTE Cat 3, and I pull 65 Mbps inside my house. My girlfriend has an LTE Cat 4 device, and she has gotten nearly 100 Mbps at times.

My father, who lives near Naperville (A suburb of Chicago) can't get the internet service he wants because his neighborhood isn't "wired" for it, so he is stuck with slow access. A buddy of mine here lives in a 30+ year old apartment building that is wired for service 5X faster than my father can receive.

I haven't seen a credit card swiper in 10+ years. Credit cards and debit cards up here in Canada usually specify in the agreement that they are not to be used with an old fashioned swiper.

The United States defin...

Besides, Sprint is the deceptive baby hiding all of their fees, punishing loyal customers with old contracts, and advertising unlimited data but throttling video at low end 3g speeds. Marcelo knows his network is complete **** and tmobile has come a long way. It truly sucks when you fall in to last place and your only hope is to sell all of your useless space to MVNOs.

Well said. Is funny how he wants to talk about T-Mobile's lease being deceptive when everything is completely clear including the fact that the $16 phones are a special. He is basically complaining that they are giving customers a deal... People need to realize that the days of phone subsidy are over. You pay for the phone you want bottom line and T-Mobile doesn't hide this like the others. The lease is just one more option so you don't have to shell out $700 all at once.

i dont see the coplaining being about the deal they actually offer/offered a deal where you can lease a phone free so i disagree on that end.

what i see hes complaing about is teh fact theyre telling custs they can upgrade 3x a year and hiding the fact that when they do theyre losing that discounted rate for the phone
