Are people that lazy

Whatever happened to connecting to wifi on your own, and disconnecting when it was awful on your own. I do it on my android phone and always turn off connection manager.
Wifi Assist should be off by default. That's the problem. It's not ethical to add a feature that screws your customer and then complain that they're too lazy to turn it off.

Do something sleazy that screws the customer over and then brag about how awesome you are when you fix it.
not sure how this is considered sleazy its not like Apple is getting paid for the data overages or service
...
Apple did not do anything wrong here, Phones have "connection managers" on them all the time.

People are still not going to look at this because the general population happen to be idiots when it comes to tech, all they know is how to click instagr...

Hmmm

I don't think the data counter there will do much. People obviously aren't looking where the toggle is and thus won't see the counter. If they've moved the toggle then maybe.
