I'll keep you updated, since you apparently have no life and subsist on "trolling" a minor forum for no reason other than to feel important.
Hrm...
Qi and ability to root and I may bite... might be able to live without a replaceable battery. Hard to get everything you want in a single phone these days...
Re: isn't it
They haven't blocked the iPhone from doing it... hard to argue that they are discriminating against certain things when they allow others to do it.
Did you read the article?
"Google Hangouts for iOS, which qualifies as a third-party download on the iPhone, functions properly over AT&T's cellular network."
Apple doesn't need to do anything... their app works on AT&T.
Your comment makes absolutely no sense.
They can't compete with innovation...
So they resort to lawsuits.
It's why they are down under $500 from their $700+ high... people see the lack of a future.
Keep your friends close...
Atleast, if this is true and the go in together, it's something that won't feed the patent wars between the two of them.
As well, the two current leaders will want to stem the competitors (MS and BB) in any way possible.
Lastly... keep your friends close... and your enemies closer.
Re: Too bad Apple relies on Google for Good Apps
Seriously... I hope, for Apple users, this leads to a map app that can be updated more regularly.
If Apple can swallow its pride long enough to think of it's users first.
To be honest...
You don't become rich by "giving" your money away.
For the same reason, Apple pays 2% taxes on their incomes, globally (not that other Mega-Corps aren't guilty of it as well.).
Re: Clue: Microsoft and Nokia are different companies
Surface is a tablet. We are talking about phones. Totally Different areas. Ms has not announced a phone.
Clue: Microsoft and Nokia are different companies
"How does Microsoft expect for Windows Phone to take off when they're doing the one carrier B.S. again."
1) This is a Nokia phone. Not a Microsoft phone. Just like Galaxy isn't made by Google, it's made by Samsung.
That means the decision to be AT&T exclusive is between AT&T and Nokia. Don't blame MS for this decision.
2) "Microsoft" will have other phones (I know of atleast 4-5 Windows 8 Phones in the wood works). I assume some of those will ...
Re: If Android makes a new OS...
"Apple just builds the iPhone with the user-experience foremost in their collective corporate mind."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Really? Have you SEEN iMaps? Anyone who claims "customer first" and releases that turd is an iDiot or a liar.
Apple cares about one thing: $. Never forget that.
Anyone who doesn't think this trial/verdict will get overturned ...

One of many news items that show how easy overturning this "Win" for Apple is going to be. Jury Misconduct is big big big.
Everyone knows Apple is *GREAT* at polishing existing ideas and making something POP! I hate Apple but even I will admit they make a smooth product.
The problem...
Every thing Apple has released in the recent past, including the iPhone, has been done before or has mountains of prior art. Tablet? Full screen touch phone? Multi-touch? bounce-back? ...
Re: 2 Million Sheep buying a fashion statement
2 million sheep would buy the phone simply for the fashion statement.
That doesn't change the fact that their is nothing "wow" about the iPhone 5. Everything they've added is already in other phones, and they seem to be falling further behind due to the 1 phone per year, sole provider status.
Then you add to that fact their history in the PC market, with the same decisions (hint: What was their market share in the PC market? What is their ...
But... you no longer need anything "extra"
"No PC Needed" with the new phones.
Car adapter? Radio adapter? Those aren't "Needed". Those aren't "required" to operate the phone. Chargers have always been included (wall wart with usb/30'pin cable).
What more do you "Need"? I'm not sure "need" means what you think it means.
I'd argue that previously, you could argue that a PC was needed to activate the iPhone, but the USB cable came with the phone (Even if it wasn't "standard" USB).
You could also argue that Apple was ...

Skip limit:
6 per hour
12 per day (for free users)
Quality of Stream:
From what I read, free is "64k AAC+" vs "192k MP3" for paid.
I tend to think that they both sound roughly the same in ear buds, but some might be able to tell the difference
Re: To bad...
I'm located in the US so Spotify hasn't been an option for me.
I paid for Pandora almost a year ago (Late August I think) and haven't regretted the $36 expense.
Re: To bad...
I generally don't skip, it plays in the background at work... I'll up/down-vote something I really like/hate and that gets stuff I want to listen to in rotation playing while I work.
Station Limits... I think I have ~15 stations? I'd be hard pressed to go up to 100 stataions. I could personally probably get rid of half of my stations atleast.
* Ad suppression (Not really an issue for me: AdBlock + MVPS hosts list, but still applicable on my ...
To bad...
it's so feraking expensive compared to the competition...
Spotify $5/10/month
Pandora $3/month ($36/year)
well... grooveshark is 6/9 per month which is more expensive than I thought it'd be...
I'll pay $3/month... screw playing $5-10 per month for songs I don't own.
Why?
Why announce this AFTER I get a motorola phone? **** on a shingle...
Re: Best Android on Verizon as of right now?
I'll add that to my suggestion :) A lot depends on price and availability as well. My advice, atm, will be
Incredible (100)
Droid X (150)
Thunderbolt (200)
It'll boil down to what she wants to spend and if she's able to wait (Dam impatient kids gotta have NOW NOW NOW)
Re: Best Android on Verizon as of right now?
Thanks for that.
It's more or less what I was thinking. Like buying a Vista laptop today.
Best Android on Verizon as of right now?
I'm the tech guy and a friend is asking what Android phone she should get within the next couple weeks.
She's looking at the Incredible, but I suggested there might be something newer/better.
I know the Thunderbolt (or whatever its called) is coming out next week? I think i'm going to suggest that.
Would anyone suggest anything else?
Just like...
Cars put the poor horse industry out of work.
Printing Press put the Scribe out of work
Hell... cell phones put the telegraph industry out of work.
Here's a clue: Things change. Ruining the economy? I can name dozens of things that do more to cause issues than junk sold on eBay.
One of the biggest issues, as far as I'm concerned, is crap like trying to prop up old businesses that can't survive anymore.
Blame doesn't get you more business, so you better ...
No need for that: Worlds Simplest Cell Phone will do
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/articl e-1330125/Johns-Phone-Worlds-simplest-mobile- phone-lets-make-calls.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
That makes me think
I won't consider a WM7 device unless it has Google as an option... hadn't really thought of that before
Pay twice for the same data?
Are consumers really that stupid?
F That and F U T-Mobile... F... U...
What will become of Sprint?
They will flip a switch and change the software on their equipment...
BAM they are LTE.
Isn't T-Mobile..
itself niche?
Pot meet kettle.
That's what I thought
Yeah... I'm not actually sure what the plan is to tether a dumb-phone...
I don't sell phones anymore and the changes to data fees on AT&T leaves me personally unsure about how tethering works now.
I'd say dial 611 from your phone and ask customer service.
Captivated? Android?
This phone? https://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=61 74
Android... search for instructions on how to root/tether with your particular phone.
'PDANet' is a good search to start with.
Do not "pay" for the "extra" privilege of using data you already pay for. I won't pay $20 to use data I already pay for - in addition to losing unlimited.
Android, iPhone and Blackberries can be tethered without AT&T's permission. Possibly other phones as well.
Tell me when they can...
pump out 1.21 jiggawatts...
that much isn't hard to hit...
Hell... if you download a season or two of shows, depending on the show, you can easily double that.
Download all of Star Trek? *ALL* of it? 400g.
All of Idol? 123gb.
All of Simpsons?
not that hard to push 250+ if you try.
It's easy. Here's how:
You need two programs.
http://www.slysoft.com/en/
AnyD vd + CloneDVDMobile
AnyDVD removes copy protection. Not sure how well it does with BluRay, but I've yet to have serious issues with DVD's.
CloneDVDMobile rips unprotected content into the format of your choosing - often with quick shortcuts (You can choose from stuff like "AVI", "iPhone", "Zune" etc).
They *ARE* paid programs. cant' remember how much. Got my copies a long time ago and haven't regretted it a moment.
Once ripped... either copy to SSD or transfer via usb. ...
I just can't believe you guys are backing up an 18k bill.
I just can't believe it.
I understand being behind a big bill... signed the papers, your responsible... yeah yeah yeah...
I've paid for bad signatures. I understand "you get what you sign for"
I don't understand why there aren't consumer safeguards in place for this kind of bull____ and why people actually condone this.
Look at Sprint... your bill goes to high - it gets cut... the... f... off. Simple.
I agree with you...
when you say no one agree's with you... :o
Blockquote
DOVER — Bob and Mary St. Germain say they can’t believe it. Four years after their son, Bryan, used his cellphone to connect to the Internet, the couple is still trying to fight the bill: a nearly $18,000 tab from Verizon.
Bryan, now 26, thought his family’s plan included free data downloads. It didn’t, and in August 2006, the St. Germains’ phone bill ballooned to more than 100 times the normal amount.

I'm paying attention...
I just think you are wrong.
I could also ask you:
if you think Apple's way is so right, why is their market share stalling?
If exclusive deals are so awesome, why is Android doing so well? Why is Android doing 10x better than when they were exclusive? Why did Palm fail in their exclusive deal?
There obviously is a short term benefit for Apple and AT&T to stay exclusive.
There are also obvious PROBLEMS with Apple staying AT&T exclusive.
I think the short ...
I thnk your trying...
to complicate something that's overly simple
If the iPhone is profitable for AT&T at those prices... they'll be profitable for Verizon at those prices.
If they are profitable for Apple on AT&T at those prices... they'll be profitable for Apple on Verizon at those prices.
In my opionion... Apple has more to lose than anyone. Once Android, or anything else, gains enough traction - Apple risks being marginalized yet again.
How would Apple not be profitable ...
True... *BUT*...
If you go to the same resteraunt, for *YEARS* and they've always had free drinks, you would expect a clear warning about the price change.
What happened here seems to be akin to getting "free drinks" from a resteraunt that just recently started charging for extra drinks - they didn't charge for refills before, but now they do - and the waitress didn't say "hey, we now charge for extra drinks".
I'd have issues paying for that bill AND that resteraunt ...
T-Mobile has two sets of CS...
Post-Paid CS is good, from what I'm told...
Flex-Pay T-Mobile CS... when I dealt with them as a rep... I *STILL* want to stab their eyes, 6 months after the fact.
Unless things have changed... I *HATE* T-Mobile for that reason alone.
