Not all of Alltel was sold to VZW. Thankfully there are still just over four million of us left.

It's the same thing with indirect. You can't judge us all by the few who make mistakes. I have people in every day from either corporate stores or CC. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. We just have to be there for the customer when they call/come in. I may not be employed by Sprint, but think of me as a cousin. I care about my Sprint customers as much as any one employed by Sprint.

VZW Question for the Uber Geeks
Apr 15, 2008, 4:24 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

I am getting more and more people coming in asking how they can keep people from reading their text messages online. They are hearing that it is possible and that their husband/wife/partner/whatever can do (or has been doing) this. I heave heard that you can, but it costs a couple hundred dollars. My question: Is this even possible? I have been telling people not to worry that it's not possible. Am I misleading them? TPTB here claim it's not ...

I agree. Sprint is kicking a$$, but unfortunately no one outside of the cellular industry knows. At least from what I see anyway.

Sounds like it. I'm pretty sure that using the headphone jack would cause the phone to think that you were using a wired headset. It must be over-riding the BlueTooth.

I have also updated my rom. After many calls to Alltel and them not answering any of my questions, I decided to take care of it myself. They won't even tell me if they are even going to work on an update, let alone a possible release date. I am running an 'unofficial' rom.

in the HTC Mogul / XV6800 / PPC6800 / P4000 forum

It doesn't matter what BT you use. It's the phone that is not working right. SPRINT'S NEW ROM HAS FIXED THIS. If you are looking at getting a Mogul and it has WM 6.0, then you'll need to upgrade (free), and you'll be fine. Sprint's newest batch of Moguls are already running the new software (with WM 6.1) so if you get one of those then it's smooth sailing!

The update is done through HTC and the carrier working together and it's usually released by both. HTC is willing, your carrier may not be. That's why Sprint has updated two or three times and Alltel hasn't updated at all.
