Re: EVO Update
If you're rooted you can use titanium backup to remove system apps. You can use visionary root or z4root for a temporary root then titanium backup. I used it on my Evo Shift to remove system apps.
Re: so i just put 2.3 on my incredible
I played with it on my Hero. It wasn't fully stable tho (camera didn't work). I liked it. The screen on and off animations were pretty cool but a little slow on the Hero. Now I have an EVO shift - can't wait until they discover perma root for it, then I can get some gingerbread in no time

This phone actually usees a new technology to reduce delayed text messaging as IDEN has been suffering in the past.
I think its a nice looking phone and a good price point for the Nextel customers.
That's true: MO-SMS (if I'm not mistaken).
Default messaging app?
Is the problem there? I haven't experienced it if so. Is it with Google Voice? If you use a third party text msging app like handsent; is there still a problem?
Re: Differences
Live wallpapers work on 2.1 doesn't have to be 2.2. I'm currently running 2.3.1 (GingerBread) on my HTC Hero and I've had live wallpapers since 2.1
If you want to get rid of apps
You can use titanium backup to get rid of system apps.
Re: deleting???
Well first option doesn't delete it, it merely replaces it
Re: deleting???
You can remove ADW launcher by either downloading another launcher (like LauncherPro) or using titanium backup to remove it (it can remove apps set as system apps).
Re: deleting???
You have to install a different ROM to get rid of it. You can use ROM manager from the market or you can go onto XDA developers forum and select one you like.
Re: deleting???
Is CyanogenMod your ROM?
Which is
what you already said in your post. Wish we could edit these things
More likely
for the curve 9330
Re: C. What are these charges on my bill?
Yes they for surely did :(
Re: Ban Kids
Google is working on that
Re: Not Ok
It works both ways.
Re: Question about a possible app
No problem :D
Ok
I have no problem with that. This will even help some find that special app they're looking for
Re: Question about a possible app
No problem :) Another app to look into is CT scheduler (free in market). This allows you to schedule silent time as well as reboots (I like to make sure my phone reboots at least once a day). CT scheduler will even run apps at predetermined times.
Re: According to our Sales manager...
I see what you're saying.
Blame Canada
Forgot my phone at home. BLAME CANADA!
Re: According to our Sales manager...
That's $1000/month per person right? Cuz if not that's not a lot to split up...
Re: Question about a possible app
There are a bunch of apps for that. You could use Tasker (a little complicated as it does tons of different tasks).
Personally I use Silent Sleep - you set the days and the times and it puts your phone on silent or vibrate only for those durations. Works perfectly for me.
Re: APKTor
Oh, and its free :D
APKTor
Search the market for this app. Setup the repositories - you will not be disappointed!
Re: Someone at Sprint has fallen and bumped their head...
Mine doesn't. Its not a fourth generation though...
Aircrack for Android?
Anyone know if this has been done yet? I was looking on XDA developers awhile ago and it was all theory.
Re: The death of iDEN
How exactly will this mean the death of iDEN/direct connect? Were talking about one on one communications via WiFi. Said communications will still need to be within 100 meters of each other to work. Direct Connect through iDEN is nationwide.
If anything it could make Direct Talk (off network walkie talkie) obsolete although the range for Direct Talk is much longer than 100 meters.
Maybe I misunderstood the article - could you explain how it kills iDEN?
Well
Is your phone rooted? If so use AutoKiller Memory Optimizer or MinFreeManager. If not rooted you can install Quick System info - it has a widget you can press to end running tasks and clear cache as well.
Re: Because putting 'buying' in quotes...
Ah! Now it makes sense..
The new app
is SO much better than the old one! Youtube videos play much faster and the orientation switching is fluid (previously mine was a bit delayed). Also I'm not having any buffering problems like I was before. HTC Hero 2.2.1 AOSP v0.8.
Re: Because putting 'buying' in quotes...
And nobody can read Spanish right?
Re: group text, aka Chat room..
Well I'm sure if you had an Android phone there would be an app available on the market lol.
Re: group text, aka Chat room..
Ah, yeah. I do miss that about having a BB. BBM rocks!
Re: post......

BBM on other OS?
So if I'm reading this correctly, you could possibly download an app on an Android phone and be able to communicate with your friends on BBM?
Re: My Apps (complete list)
Well with my phone since I have the Hero and it runs at 528mhz stock; setCPU is a must for me. I overclock to 768mhz and it makes a huge difference. Another I really use a lot is wireless tether. Hmm, so I guess my three would be: SetCPU, Wireless Tether and Music Junk (I download a lot of music). That would be a very hard choice though if I had to pick lol.
Re: My Apps (complete list)
Lol the problem is that I'm using Apps2sd and have 1gb partitioned for apps (on top of the regular onboard memory).
Mostly the apps that require root are the ones I don't want to be without (setCPU, titanium backup, ect). Honestly theres a lot I don't use - just got to go one day and uninstall those lol.
