C. What are these charges on my bill?
Me: "we'll ma'am it seems as if the line ending in **** purchased a few applications and billed them to your account."
C: "i never gave authorization for those charges!"
Me: "the terms were located in the details of the application."
C: "shouldnt this be covered by the data plan?"
Me: "no ma'amm, these charges were billed separately, not directly from AT&T."
C: "well im not paying for it."
*facepalm*

They have to be contested within 24 hours any time after that it cant be refunded and wont be.

Didn't the latest round of Marketplace "upgrades" drop that to 15 minutes?

Also toss into this, you now have the privilege of paying sales tax on the apps. No go for me.

The carrier can refund whatever it wants, and if a customer is obnoxious he can get almost everything refunded....that is part of the terms and conditions Google would have to agree to before any carrier allows carrier billing, charges can be disputed for up to 90 days, the carrier CAN refund app purchases and WILL do so
That being said, purchases from Android Market, the Apple App Store and Blackberry App World require setting up an account with an email address, and entering a password to authorize a purchase before the charge is made
It is rather difficult for someone to claim that they made such a purchase by accident

Just like premium messaging from predicto, kgb, or some other site. I fight with these people everyday.
