"Coming Soon" posted

The message of:

"Coming Soon - The Motorola Q"

has been listed. I would expect once the SCH A970 promotion is off the website, there may be a Coming Soon flash for the Q.

Official Release of the Q confirmed today !!! It will probably such but it's new toy !!

The Q will release from VZW on the 24th, 10000%...I assure you..

I am not so concerned.. My friends in the data testing group all have it and say it sucks big time..

I like it because of it's size.

I will still get it to play with..

Which Bluetooth headset will YOU get?

I've seen this one:

But it's like 150 bucks. Do any of you use any really nice (and reasonably priced) headsets now? What are you planning on using for the Q when you get it?

Why does anybody care?

I’ve been reading all of these postings and my first thought is “why do you care?” It’s a PDA/Phone. WE never needed it before so why do you frustrate yourselves speculating when it will be available? Some of these postings are ridiculous. With the amount of time and money you will spend on this phone you could help a person in Sierra Leone or Kazakhstan or Guyana or somewhere in the world near you, eat for a couple of weeks.

I admit I need a PDA/Phone for work as well, but I don’t need all this hype about the Q. I’ll buy it if I need it when it comes out.

Another issue –
Others, and myself, especially despise those claiming to work for, or claiming to know people at Verizon or Motorola. You know you don’t and even if you do, go do ...

VZW Insiders - When Will The Q Be "Coming Soon"?

We've had a couple folks confirm May 24th as the launch date, but when will VZW post it on the B2C site as COMING SOON?

I have another 9 days to return my 9800, and I hope I don't have to use my busted @ss old phone for long before I can really get my hands on th Q.

Anybody know if the voice dialing works through bluetooth?

It doesn't on the Treo 700w, by the way...

So, what is VZW going to do....

The listing says that they have the Bluetooth open for basically whatever you want to use it for.....

Historically, VZW has shut that down, moreso on Moto phones....

Are they going to leave this one unlocked?

Love the Phone.. But How Good is Verizon?

Been watching this thread for months. I WANT this phone, but I have concerns about the service from Verizon... I travel domestically and on ocassion to europe and asia.

Can someone point me to a site that might give me a good sense of the pros / cons of Verizon's service, including their broadband capabilities as compared to the competitors?

Thanks!

Article on Microsoft Crossbow and the Q

http://australianit.news.com.au/articles/0,7204,1904 ... »

"The system is codenamed Crossbow, and Microsoft hopes to deliver it to mobile phone and personal digital assistant makers by the fourth quarter of 2006. Its launch is expected in the first or second quarter of 2007."

"One of the biggest changes will be strong support for Office 2007 and Exchange 12 for word processing, spreadsheet presentation and email applications.

Crossbow will be able to tie into Office Communicator, a new instant messaging application that will be part of Office 2007."

"All eyes are on the Motorola Q, the closest thing to an iPod-like challenger to the BlackBerry and Mobile 5."

over in the "Motorola Q Video Tour" discussion:

copy/paste functionality?

As this is not a touchscreen, I'm wondering if anyone has a feel for (or if) cut and paste works. I think this would be a major thing missing compared to the treo for those who edit documents, or copy small pieces of text around. Also, if one exists for the OS, how's the ssh client?
