Motorola Q

This thing is so wide and thin they should slap some wheels on it so i can ride it to work. oh well, i will probably still try it for a bit.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to e-mail technology, etc., so forgive me if my question seems, uh... dumb. But here goes: how exactly can I get e-mail on the Q in real-time like on a Blackberry? Is this possible? Is this what they mean by "push e-mail"? If so, does this only work for syncing with Outlook Express on a PC? The reason I ask is because I have Mac and don't use Express for e-mail.. I'm wondering if the Q could be configured to have "instant" e-mail on its own server, or does it have to be "pushed" from a PC? Am I out of luck in this regard?

I just received my most recent issue of Money Magazin a few days ago in the mail. Verizon placed a full 1 page AD in it all on the Q phone. They are now wetting the pallet for all of the world. just as you would by holding a savory meaty dog treat in front of your dog. The jucies are getting stronger.

Unfortunately, I get married June 10th and go to Hawaii on the 12th. Since I can get this phone via B2B it means I can be in the first wave of Qers. I believe the announcement will be coming out on Monday that we have all been waiting for. How soon does anyone think the actual products will be in the store. another question how quickly does a comapny usually put modifications in to fix problems...do the wait a few months. I would like to get onew after the kinks have been worked out 😳

1) Does anyone know if the Q bluetooth will work with BMW phone system? The treo did only after an upgrade.

2) Does VZW still make you listen to your entire voice message before you can erase it? With Sprint you can erase a message at anytime.

I'm with AllTel now... Want to buy Q phone online at the VZW site on the 31st (assuming it's available).

Anyone know how easy this will be if I also want to transfer my phone number from my existing service provider (AllTel).

If you ahve experience with this, how long does take and how error prone is the process.

Now I was watching a video on the Q from CNET. Ed Zander, CEO of Motorola, said that on his Q he has TV. shows and movies he said that he just plugs it into his dvr and selects the one he wants to be on his Q. On the list of features it says Video formats supported: H.263, MPEG-4, GSM-AMR, AAC, WMV. Can we do that with the Verizon Version?

My corporate rep has been on the lookout for me, and sent me an email on Friday that the Q will be avail on June 5th to buy from him.

I know you can buy SDIO cards that incorporate, say a bluetooth of WiFi radio AND some memory. Is therre such a beast in miniSD format? I haven't seen one yet, but sould very much like one.

I hate my Hotmail account but everyone has it and no matter how many times I ask people to email me at Gmail, it never happens. Hotmail won't allow forwarding and I've never been able to set it to "push" like a pop3 - I noticed in the Q user manual that there are setup instructions for Hotmail - will I still have to log in to get mail or is it possible to push the messages to the Q?

I am starting my new job in 2 months which will require me having a smart phone. I would like to know does the Q require a data plan for operation? I would just like a regular plan for the next 2 months. Then when I start my new job I will switch to a data plan.

Also I know the Q isn't out yet, but I would appreciate some of you guys rating it against the Treo 700w and the LG 9800

Does anyone know if I can use (or try) to use my employee discount (which claims to be 25%) on a new phone i.e.. the Q, to save some money on the full price phone? I'm only a year into my two-year plan so I doubt I can finagle a discount that way any other way.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or has anyone ever even used their company discount?

What is the criteria for B2B and how do I get them to sell to my business. I do not have a buiness account. I need this phone I feel like a kid at Toys R Us and the freaking toy is behind the window and on the top shelf that I can not reach.. I hate that I can see this damn thing. I dont think I have ever anticipated a phone so much. It better not be overrated like the Treo 700w was. I hated that phone. But the competition will lye between the Treo 700p and the Q. The battle to me is the Treo 700p needs 2 hands to operate, and the Q just one. On the go people will love the Q. Desk Sitters and Airplane travelers will love the Treo 700p since the wndowns version was JUNK !! But im sure the Palm OS is perfect !!
