Data plan?

2yrsUp

I am starting my new job in 2 months which will require me having a smart phone. I would like to know does the Q require a data plan for operation? I would just like a regular plan for the next 2 months. Then when I start my new job I will switch to a data plan.

Also I know the Q isn't out yet, but I would appreciate some of you guys rating it against the Treo 700w and the LG 9800

Thanks

No, no data plan is needed. Only a pay as you go option which is 0$. However if you do access the web or email from your PDA then you will be charged .015cents per Kilobyte. I you never access the web or email for 2 months then dont worry. Secondly The Treo is a pocket PC, so you'll have a touchscreen to use. The Q is a smartphone so you'll only be able to use the key pads keys and buttons to navigate the device. They both do all the same things you'll need, so its a personal preference in how you want to navigate the various features.
