I'm currently with sprint pcs and as everyone knows, they are the worst carrier as far as selection of phones are concerned. Did I read that sprint is actually going to get out a version of the Q??? The last person posted an article that stated this.

I work in the wireless industry and still cannot figure out why so many people want this phone. ya i know its thin buts its wide and tall too, this phone doesnt even have a touch screen can someone please let me in on the big secret as to why everyone wants this phone so bad

On Verizon's new Q flash site they show many many screen shots of the Q running WM5.0 for pocket pc.

I thought this device was running smartphone version?

Today's New York Times had a wonderful review of the new 700p to be released next week for Verizon. Aside from the obvious differences - Q is thinner, and the Treo will operate a Palm platform - what does this group feel will be the advantages of the Q vs. 700p?

This may seem a little shallow and probably premature, but I have to voice this concern anyway.

Is anyone else a little worried that with such a low price point that within six months of release the streets will be overrun with snotty spoiled tweenagers blatantly showing off their new ultra cool Q?

This should be a very popular device with internet, mp3, and video capabilities. But I have a concerns that soon after release there will be a huge backlash of those not wanting to associated with the latest "fad phone".

Maybe I should stick with the decidedly uncool, business-like Treo 700w/p.

Let me apologize up front if this has been posted, i didn't read it. In the June edition of Entrepreneur Magazine, about 10 pages in, there is a 1 page ad with the Q, sponsored by Verizon and a web link www.veriizonwireless.com/Q . I have had this magazine laying here for a couple of days and never yet picked it up, so sorry if i'm late to the party.

I already have a blackberry for work, but I hate using it as a phone.

I'm due for a phone replacement and don't really care if I have e-mail capability on this phone. I more or less just like the form factor, and the ability to use the QWERTY keyboard for text messages (I hate using T9 on normal phones).

My question is:
Am I REQUIRED to get the unlimited data plan with this phone? Or can I just keep a normal voice plan and use it for voice and text messages (without e-mail or web features) Will Verizon allow that? Also - I have the Web 2.0 package on my current phone for $7.99 - would that enable web on this phone?

Will the Q pair and play nicely with my MAC?

today i was speaking to some people that tried this phone out. i was very excited to hear their response and they werent too thrilled about it. they seemed to like it but they said the biggest problem was the battery life wasnt very good at all. remember it is a very thin phone folks! look at the treo, the battery is very thick and can hold a lot of juice, but with the q, im really not expecting 4 hours talk time on it. maybe jsut slightly a lil more than the razr would give you.

Right from the official Motorola Q page, the date on the Q is shown as 06/25/2006. Every other picture I've seen has had a date of 11/17/2005 so maybe this is a little hint from Moto about the release date seeing as how they are already making games about their new wonder toy...

Article in Chicago Tribune.

It's about the new Red SLVR but if you read at the end Ron Garriques, president of Motorola's mobile phone division makes this comment about the Q:
"If you don't see it within a week, I'll be depressed."
