LG VX-8100

Can I download and play a game such as "Brothers in Arms 3D" if I don't have V-Cast? I'm not in the V-Cast coverage area, but it gives me the option to download. Thanks in advance.

has anyone else had this problem?

i made ringtones via bitpim, i sent them to my phone, set them as the respected ringers, and a few hours later, they are not recognized by my phone. everything else is (pics and videos). so then i rebitpim my phone and they are back only to vanish again. maybe im doing something wrong somewhere or maybe version 7 just sux, any help is appreciated. thanks mike

And do they work with this phone?

does anyone know how to get rid of the stupid default tones that come with the 8100? I use bitpim, and now I am out of room for more tones!

I took songs off of several of my cd's and added them to my V cast software. Then tried to Sync them to my phone and it said they were copyrighted. I can do this process on my daughters I-pod and there is no problem. How can I do it on my phone? I am not real knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of stuff either. Thanks in advance for any advice !

I heard it was possible and searched 9 pages of forum posts but i was wondering how to get rid of the verizon banner from the vx 8100?

I have been trying to download games that verizon says are available for my phone. When I called them the tech kept telling the lady I need to have my phone flashed. I told her I have the newest version. The following day I went to work. One of my bosses has the same phone but he has version 4 software. The games come up on his phone. Why get the newest software if you can't get the games and apps you want. 👿

I've noticed there A LOT of new phones coming out with similiar specs to the 8100. One of them is the LG LX550. Its pretty sweet. I like it way better than the 8300. I'm not sure if its coming to Verizon though. I hope it does.

I recently joined with verizon and picked a family plan to help out all of my siblings that are still in college (4). The first phone I picked for myself was a razor. The first day I had it it froze three times and I brought it back for another one. The next one I got dropped every call I received but I could make outgoing calls. I could have sworn I saw somewhere a while back a thread on this forum about someone having a hack to allow the VX-8100 to utilize ringtones stored on the MiniSD card. Currently as I understand it, you can put your custom ringtones on the phone memory in one of the
BREW folders using BitPim or QPST. However, to do this can be more involved and a pain in the a$$. If there was some way to tell the phone to look on say \My_RingTones folder of the SD card, this would make things much easier.

If someone knows of the mod needed please post it here.

Anyone know if this phone is headed for VZW or Sprint? I think it's time to get away from LG. I am mainly interested in the Bluetooth and it is 2.0. The LG BT sucks. 😎

What exactly does this mean? Does recordable voice ringtones meaning reecording something and then being able to use that as a ringtone? If so, how do you make the sounds from "My Sounds" as ringtones?

Could anyone tell me the optimal Sample Rate and/or Bitrate for converting songs to ringtones on bitpim? I know that the higher the bitrate, the better the quality, but if you get too high, it doesnt work right. I have no idea about the sample rate though and any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

LG 8100 Fan

My wife just got a new LG VX 8100. In the process of setting it up for her, I have discovered that it does not give out a reminder beep to let you know that you have missed a call. I've searched every menu and can't find anything. There is a section of alerts (email, txt, pix, etc...) but there isn't one for missed calls. I called customer service and they said that it happens automatically. It's not happening on this one, though. This function is absolutely essential to her. Does anybody have any thoughts? Thanks.

I was wantin to know i got a a950 in february, i was wantin to know if i could like trade it in or upgrade or somethin to a vx8100?, if i could how much will it cost?

I dunno if this is a new discovery but i thought i'd share this, i just found this trick earlier today. I have a old wired headset that i was testing to see if it would work on my 8100, so i turned the speakerphone on then plugged in the earpiece, closed the flip then after i removed the ear piece with the flip closed the phone still worked in speakerphone mode. I havent tested a actual call to see if the speakerphone with the flip closed effected call quality in anyway but i thought alotta people would be interested with this discovery

i dunno if this will work with bluetooth headsets tho, i ordered me one a couple days ago so ill be able to test it to see if bluetooth headsets work with this method as well.

Okay, I have a pretty good working knowledge of cameras, but am fairly new to digital, and this is my first camera phone.

So far, I'm getting pretty decent pictures outside, but, as someone else also mentioned, indoor photos are quite grainy, and often have a washed out look.

I have played with the settings, and found the indoor pictures get better with the brightness set more towards the dark side, or left of scale. Also, it almost seems the pictures look better at the lower resolutions, 640, 320, etc.

Can anyone who is really familiar with camera phones, or who has played with this one a lot more, please post some specifics about camera settings for different lighting situations?

And no, I'm not expecting high quality photos f...
