LG VX-8100

Lately I have had a weird problem happening.

A friend of mine has T Mobile and we text message like crazy back and forth and lately something weird happens. If my text mailbox is full and they send me a message I get the alert that I have a new message from them and that I need to erase some messages to get a new one. I'll erase a few messages and then I never get the message from them at all. And I know it's from a certain person cause I have a music alert on them specifically.

What's even weirder is that it only happens with them and no other T Mobile users. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact their phone was ordered from overseas.

Anyone ever had this or something similar?

They are mobile phones are they not? I've had LG's for the past 6 years. 6 weeks ago I got my third phone. I had to replace a phone that was 3 1/2 years old as they said it had water damage. The phone came on and said the battery was dead. The counter tech at Verizon told me he believed it had water damage even though the moisture indicator didn't say so. O.K. whatever, I was due for a new phone. Got the 8100. It was in my closed backpack on my way from the parking lot into school in a rainstorm. It didn't take any direct hit. Now my headset is the only thing that will work for hearing but I cannot get a voice out. All else functions. O.K. it's water damage, maybe or that is the ultimate out. Shouldn't these things be slightly water resista...

I currently bought the miniSD card for my LGx8100. I formatted the card through my phone and its working fine. I can move my pictures and sounds into the card. I tried adapting the memory card to my laptop (using the Mobile Mate SD+ adapter) but the card isn't working. I double-clicked on my "removable disk" drive through My Computer and windows tell me to format the memory card. I do as they say, but each time I attempt to format it, there would be an error saying "windows is unable to format drive." Why does it keep say that?? I contacted SANDISK with this problem and they didn't give me an answer to fix it... ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON? Please help.. I would love to put my 1gb of memory to work with mp3s and all that happy stuf...

I just had sombody show me #646 and get info txt to you regarding your minute usage... pretty cool... this leads me to think there are many more...!? Why doesn't VZW tell you about any of these...? kind of hard to search for on forums... didn't find any threads that addressed this....

Can you move the music you download from V-Cast to you Memory card and/or computer?

i recently purchased the Razr, and i liked it at first but now i am just getting sick of the slow and laggy menu system. I have thought about switching to the lg vx 8100, what do people think about the phone?

I ordered a 8000 off ebay the other day and hooked up bitpim and was able to add songs to the main memory easy...is there a way to add mp3's and wma files (since version 7 allows u to use both) to the phones main memory using only bitpim?? At first when i looked around here they said u could but when i tried it wit my data cable it wouldnt work and i read that i would need the music kit cable that verizon is selling...so i could sync windows media player with my cable and phone...

I would prefer the menu key take me to other functions than are currently programed... I noticed that they let you change the down key, but I hate all the key strokes to get to the functions I use most, alarm, calendar, and music manager...

talked to a buddy of mine and he got the 700w for work. Someone gave him a blackberry, works better for his work. Says he want to give his wife a phone but the 700w would be too much(she might lose it too) I think that I made out alright.

I've been reading the 8100 forum since late summer and I've noticed a number of people complain about how the speaker phone doesn't work with the phone closed. Well by accident I found a way to change that. (disclaimer, worked on my 8100, and I don't know if this has already been posted)
1. turn on speaker phone 2. plug in a head set 3. make the call 4. when call connects and headset still connected close lid 5. when shut and ringing on headset, unplug headset and it should work.
Came across this when I was talking to my girlfriend and my phone dropped and my head became unplugged. Good luck sorry if it has already been posted.

I used to have LG VX 4400. I can call any of my number when the flip is closed by pressing the voice actiation button on the left side (below the volume button).

I cannot do that on my 8100. I hold it and it gives me a message "Voice memo not available!"

Any idea?

Also, now I notice I don't have on my contact a space to have voice dialling. Any idea I can do that on the VX8100?

I would love a quality set of bluetooth headphones that will work with my LG8100... I think that the above i-phono mini would work... anybody have any experience with them?

Great bluetooth headset, sounds good. The mic works a little too good though.

In have been doing the followng to achieve this.

Using DVD Shrink to come up with a VOB file of what I want to copy. Next, use AutoGK to convert the VOB file to an AVI file. Finally, use SUPER to convert the AVI file to a 3g2 file.

IT plays and I don't mind the procedure, buit the volume is very low. Any suggestions?

Hi. I just got my awesome new 8100 and am very excited about this phone's potential. Thanks to so many of you for all the advice and help so far. I have bitpim up and running and am able to import ringtones and my contacts, but for some reason, it only lets me put one pic in for wallpaper at a time. If i put in another pic, it erases the previous pic.

Any advice? I must be overlooking something very obvious....

just wondering if there's any word on when navigation will be available for the 8100. they just released it for the 9800 so it can't be long.

Telus just started offering this phone, but it's just called the LG 8100. It seems very very similar and I picked it up anyway, assuming telus' information is wrong (it is all the time) or it's a slightly different model. The colors offered seem different, buttons are layed out a bit different clr is back, the camera button is on the right of the camera and internal memory seems to be about 44 mb, instead of 32 and a bunch of minor differences with menus' apperance. The broswer version says 6.2 something.

Does anyone have any information on this phone, any search, even "LG 8100" or "LG8100" come up with information on the VX, I can't find information on this phone anywhere. Hitting 0 in the menu doesn't seem to do anything and I'm won...

someones ordered me this headset from the verizon site i was wondering if this is a good bluetooth headset anybody out there have it? if not whats a good bluetooth headset thats recommended?
