Let's talk Camera - How To's (Settings, etc.)

Okay, I have a pretty good working knowledge of cameras, but am fairly new to digital, and this is my first camera phone.

So far, I'm getting pretty decent pictures outside, but, as someone else also mentioned, indoor photos are quite grainy, and often have a washed out look.

I have played with the settings, and found the indoor pictures get better with the brightness set more towards the dark side, or left of scale. Also, it almost seems the pictures look better at the lower resolutions, 640, 320, etc.

Have you any further insights? I just got the phone and haven't decided to keep it yet (want to, but other concerns may be more important.)

Not grainy, color decent (but then the cat is sepia toned). 640x480. I have since tried one on the 8100 at highest resolution w/good lighting - no del...

I read you review of this phone. Unless I misunderstood the write up, you are mistaken in it. I get from the write up that you say that the flash on the 8100 work with shooting video too. Not that I know of.

i generally use the 640 resolution setting it reduces the camera lag and the pics come out nicely in well lit areas.
