LG VX-8000

the vcast finally came out in my area..the 'EV' sign is constantly up and doesn't come and go as it please's anymore. now that its out, does anyone think i can get the 2 months free of vcast, because i never got it when i first got the phone.

On Friday, my 8000 which I have been using for about a month decided to conjure up a mind of it's own. I was in my home which I get a full five bars of signal (on my LG 3200) And 4 bars on my 8000 well, all of a sudden my 8000 started losing calls which has never happened to me than the problems progressively worsened. I noticed a full 4 bars of signal strength than instantly back down to none than said "searching for signal" than back up to 4 bars than repeated over and over and I could not make a call. My LG3200 had no problem. Well, I called Verizon tec support only to be told that the phone was no good. They also said that maybe my phone was picking up a bad cell tower which could be up to 30 miles away. I told them that my 3200 was per...

I am try to work with getting streaming working.. one problem is that the media player is stripped down.. is there a way to install the real version of the media player that has all the options?

Hey guys my vx8000 keeps switching to EVDO for about 2-5 seconds then the EV symbol dissappears. I know EVDO is not yet available in the Bay Area. The problem is that this has been happening for a week and my battery life sucks ass now. If I am the only one whos having this problem, should I bitch to verizon and get a new phone? Thanks a lot

the vzw rep who sold me the 8000 said there was a way to get rid of those ugly red bars but he couldn't tell me because he'd get fired. I looked on this forum but to no avail. Does anyone know how to do it? thanx!

I know this is a silly question...but, if I get this thing set up thru a WAP proxy or thru a dedicated WAP server on my home computer, can I cease paying $5/mo for "Verizon Mobile Web 2.0?" I guess the nitty gritty of my question is whether I'm paying $5/mo. for the access to check the internet on the phone or for their WAP interface.

my friend on Sprint has an LG phone and it coincidently can use my samsung charger, as well as her own LG charger, as it has 2 ports. kinda weird! wonder if i should hold onto one of my charging cords for the 8000?!? 😛

Is there any way to use the free WAP service at CRJT.Net? If so has anyone reprogramed the IP Address and port on the VX8000? I found the settings under the secret menu but Can't seem to get them to work with CRJT.net.

guys don't u think that trick to speak with the speakerfone closed is kind of lame?? I mean it only comes in handy when you're driving...but who the hell wants to carry that mic with them just to speak with it closed? lol anyways, hows the battery life on this phone??

do use VCAST you have to have the EVDO signal, right?

Can someone explain the benefit of this feature, i have turned it on at night, but i only notice the screen gets slow motion looking. What is its purpose. Thanks

I was wondering if you can tell me if this is a good deal or not....I have a V710 and want to get back to LG. I called verizon and there sending me a refurb VX8000 for only $50. I am waiting to upgrade to the VX8100 when it comes out.Did I make a good move or a stupid one. Ive never used a 8000 so I dont know.

I've been using bitpim, but its way to slow for my patience. QPST seems like a pain in the @$$, but if its faster I'll use it. Any suggestions?

I was certain that both of these screens were the same size. Now I'm not so sure. Is there anyone that has actually compared the inner screensize of these phones?

There seems to be a few companies that offer something, but what has everyone found to be the best solution for this?

Well if you realize u will see the phone comes with a handsfree microphone.... Wen u use the mic u are aloud to close the phone.. wen the phone is closed pull out the microphone and then u are talking with the phone closed...

Who else is willing to sell this phone? I'm willing to buy one.

Is there a way to define the ringtone by each group? Or do you have to take the time and do each contact individually?
