LG VX-8000
Any other Bay Area vx8000 users having this issue?
Hey guys my vx8000 keeps switching to EVDO for about 2-5 seconds then the EV symbol dissappears. I know EVDO is not yet available in the Bay Area. The problem is that this has been happening for a week and my battery life sucks ass now. If I am the only one whos having this problem, should I bitch to verizon and get a new phone? Thanks a lot

i live on long island, although long island is not covered by the EVDO network, the little "EV" comes up on my phone for about 5 seconds and then flashes off again...then when i check my phone 10 min. later, its back. about your battery, if you charge it everynight the battery won't last as long(this happened to my first battery)

I live on the east bay and have been having the same problem, I believe they are in the process of testing the ev-do network in the bay area. The reason why your battery life sucks is because your phone is searching for the new network.

verizonwireless is testing their evdo towers in your area so you should be getting vcast soon congratulations just please bear with the short battery life it will get better soon on its own

On June 27th, 2005 EDVO was turned on at SFO, San Jose International, and Oakland International. ALl three air ports are on EDVO. The signal is in the area and they are testing the rest of the network. It should be up and running in 45-60 days.
