Closing phone while still using speakerphone

I want to be able to use speakerphone and then close my phone so I can be able to clip it to my belt or something without having it open all the time. I tried changing the answering and dialing settings but it did not work each time I tried it.

Is this possible?

Quality of wallpapers sent to phone

I am graphic savvy and I decided I wanted to create pretty wallpapers for my phone. I sent them using VZWPix Place and the quality of the wallpapers were cut down severely. Does anyone know how to keep them good quality?

Power on/off sounds

Does anyone know how or if you can turn off the Verizon dingy dingy song when it powers on or off??
I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!! 😁
They appear to be hard to come by, so I feel lucky. Especially since I got it FREE!!! 😎 Benefit of being with Verizon/Cellular One since 1993. (bagphone)
Thanks for your help.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on my third 9900, don't get me wrong, my raving review has not changed in the least. However the problem I had with the second phone was in regard to the GIN apps and the scheduler...the phone switched off on its own and then powered up again (no, I'm not talking about the automatic powersave mode after being idle for a few seconds) and then not only that, but I was unable to save the apps to my phone (e.g. ringtones, wallpaper...) without error messages of internal coding.
And so I am now on my third 9900, this one is refurbished, but only has 41 minutes of talktime prior to my activation...and seems to work just fine. They even sent a copy of the test results.

But has anyone else experienced the same issue with theirs, or am I the ...

Headsets for CDM-9900 (Recommendations)..?

Just recently acquired a 9900 (great phone!!) through Verizon as a NE2 upgrade to my older 9500. I'm now investigating headset and hopefully hands-free options.
In reviewing the 9900 accessory options on VZW's web site a few options-products are of interest. Products I'm targeting are:

- Jabra Earwave; Boom-type, no call ans-end
- Plantronics MX158VSP1; Boom-type, call ans-end
- Plantronics MX350VR; In-line, call ans-end

So two basic questions:

1) Jabra vs. Plantronics?
Any better quality, functionality, lifecycle of one over the other..?

2) Boom vs. In-line?
Any advantages, pointers, issues of one over the other..?

Any feedback/insights are appreciated.

URGENT! Audiovox CDM-9900 vs Motorola v265

My wife and I are considering the Audiovox CDM-9900 and the Motorola v265. With New Every 2 through Verizon, we will get either phone free, so cost is not an issue. We've been using the same StarTAC 7868 for years (feels like a decade).

Our most important considerations are reception (must include analog), sound quality (on both ends & speakerphone), battery life.

I've heard mixed reviews on the 9900's reception, but glowing reviews about the camera & screen. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about the v265, but it's usually followed by complaints about the screen (too small, difficult to see in bright daylight). The v265 is slightly smaller than the 9900, and Motorola is a more widely known brand, so I would think it will hav...

Download Pix From VZW Pix Place

I know this has been talked about in this forum, but I don't want to go through fifty something pages to find this topic. Can anyone help or clarify what happened to my picture quality when I get it from VZW pix place? I have two 9900 phones with two separate numbers and I took some pictures from one phone (around 40K in size)& send the pictures to pix place, I then send the pictures from pix place to the other phone, but when I received the pictures, it became a 5K picture. Needless to say the quality went to hell. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or did VZW brought the resolution down before sending the picture to the other phone. If so, is there a way to get around it? It ashame that this phone can take such good pictures b...

SPRINT/NEXTEL YES!

This Sprint/Nextel merger could be a great deal! If it happens good-bye VZW. I have Nextel for my business now and I recieved 30% off on phone prices and 18% off on monthly price plan. VZW wouldn't give me squat off, if this deal goes through 8 more months and I'm done with Verizon. Replacing 12 VZW cellphones with SPRINT/NEXTEL.

CDM-9900 VS. LG VX 8000

Alright Flat out, I need to know which phone i should get... should I get the cdm 9900 (the phone I always wanted to get until i saw the VX-8000 NOT vx 7000, the coming soon VX-8000, check it out under reviews.)... it should be coming out January 14-15th, but i know theres people out there that already have the VX-8000 so help me out!!!!

Delete ALL in Text Messages??

I receive a fair number of text messages throughout the day, some generated from automated systems at our company and others from public news services. I find it time consuming to delete messages one at a time.

Is there a function on the CDM9900 that will allow me to delete 'all' from inbound text messages? If so, I have yet to find it.

Thanks!

Question about display

I can't figure out a way to do this, but does anybody know how, or if it's even possible, to put your scheduler on the main display as a wallpaper? I'm not very good with remembering dates, and the alarm notices only begin an hour before a scheduled event. My old phone was nice because you could customize when to receive a notice, whether it be a day, a week, 2 weeks, etc. in advance.

MobileWeb4U free ringtones???

For anyone who has MobileWeb4U (discussed in depth in previous threads), there is a site under Fun Stuff, Humor called Bacon 2 Go that offers free ringtones.

The problem is, I can't figure out how to download them. When you click on a tone you get a screen with file information, but no option to download.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

Help with emailing ringtones.

LOL. this is bullsh*t!!! I have emailed lots of ringtones before to my phone. Given help on sending ringtones to their phones. Now it wont work anymore. I mean i still have about 5-6 ringtones on my phone, but i cant send new ones. YES, i followed all the steps. the strange thing about it is that, i tried emailing the ringtones that i already have the phone AGAIN, to see if it was the file, but umm no it wasnt. When i get the song it plays and stops right away, it doesnt actually let me listen to the song. i've tried sending a 10 sec sound clip and still no luck. Is this something that VZW is to blame or am i doing something wrong??? Or is this a new issue??? Please help???

Button color?

I have a Motorola V265 and Verizon is swapping it for the 9900...Read nothing but good things about the phone. Wondering what color the buttons are on the phone when lit. I really liked the blue ones on the V265 over the green ones on my older cell phones.

RINGTONES Downloads

I am having difficulty sending ringones from my desktop to my phone. Gumby's instructions are great but it will not work for me. Here are the steps I am taking:

1. I went to "my computer", and found "Folder Options" in the drop down menu. Under "Tools", Folder Options, clicked on the "view" tab. In "view", UNCHECKED the box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types".

2. Went to www.walmart.com, clicked on the "music" tab, and searched for the song that I wanted.

3. Right-clicked on the song and chose "Save As..." and saveed it to my desktop as .mp3

4. Went to www.goldwave.com. Downloaded their free music editor. Installed it.

5. Opened the 30-second song that I downloaded from www.walmart.com in Goldwave once I...
