URGENT! Audiovox CDM-9900 vs Motorola v265

My wife and I are considering the Audiovox CDM-9900 and the Motorola v265. With New Every 2 through Verizon, we will get either phone free, so cost is not an issue. We've been using the same StarTAC 7868 for years (feels like a decade).

Our most important considerations are reception (must include analog), sound quality (on both ends & speakerphone), battery life.

I've heard mixed reviews on the 9900's reception, but glowing reviews about the camera & screen. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about the v265, but it's usually followed by complaints about the screen (too small, difficult to see in bright daylight). The v265 is slightly smaller than the 9900, and Motorola is a more widely known brand, so I would think it will hav...

I have the same concerns & needs as you do when shopping for a phone. I needed a tri-mode phone with good RF & easy to read internal/external displays. I had the LG VX6100 first but the bugs was so annoying that I ended up selling it on ebay. I've read the reviews on this site regarding CDM9900 but I was hesitant about getting it since Audiovox quit making cell phones; however, after looking at the V265 in the VZW store & owning a VX6100, I decided to get the Audiovox in spite of it being discontinued & never been happier. I have not had good experience with Moto phones since the V60c, & from all the different forums I've read about the V265, it does hold good RF (that's about the only positive thing on this phone), but the display is hard t...

If you can find a CDM9900 I would heartily recommend buying it while you can. It's a fine instrument. Don't concern yourself with Audiovox having dropped out of the cellular distribution business. The phone is made for them by Toshiba. Verizon Wireless is responsible for your continued satisfaction with your purchase, not the manufacturer or distributer.

I also had the StarTac 7868. That was a great phone, as durable and reliable as they come. The size was great as well. I did a good amount of research and decided to get the 9900. I also considered the moto 265 and the LG 61000. I couldn't be happer with the 9900. The screen on this phone is so far superior to the others, it isn't even close. The phone is very user friendly and has tons of features. Trust me, this is no contest. If you can find the 9900, get it! Try a kiosk at Circuit City. The verizon store I went to said they had none and they were gone. Accross the street, the CC store said the warehouse had hundreds of them and he could get me any number I wanted. So I ordered 2, one for me and one for my wife. They were de...

9900 without a doubt, as I explained in the Howardforum.

The 9900 is better no doubt, BUT, you need to do another comparison because there are no more 9900s in the warehouses. đŸ˜ĸ

Verizon has them listed on the internet as out of stock (they just changed it today). And I could not find a Verizon dealer in the state of FL that had them. ☚ī¸

I did get one today but had to try other outlets. Circuit City had ONE phone left in the entire state, and I bought it! They are over nighting it to the local store here! Nice help! That makes 3 that I have now!!! 😁

So I guess we should now be suggesting which phone to look at that is "AMOST" as good as the 9900!

So far I haven't found a substitute that has a large and brilliant screen, good camera, speakerphone that works well, voice diali...
