Best Contact Manager Datapilot vs. Quicklink?

What works the best? I just need to sync contacts between my 9900 and Outlook. Real world experience would be helpful i.e bugs, crashing, etc. 🙄

phone gets hot

is it normal for the phone to get hot? Also, I have it in a leather case (that I got from Verizon, so it's supposed to work with the phone). Do I need to worry that I will either burn out the phone or start a fire?
It's not too hot to hold, but it is noticably hot.

Mobileweb4u price increase

I was about to renew my Mobileweb4u subsription (upgrade from 1 month to 1 year) when I noticed that they've raised the price from c. $25/year to 39.95 in the last couple of weeks. Just so you all know.

It's a great service but they seem to know it and their gouging bugged me ... so I cancelled.

9900s in stock!!!

Other people have posted about the 9900s being in stock at independent dealers. This may be the only way you can get them except through ebay. If any of you knows anyone interested in this phone, they are available in San Diego County at: Mobile Direct (619-482-3304) and Soundwave Wireless (858-292-9917). I talked to both of these stores and they have them in stock. However, you must be establishing a new contract with them. I thought about canceling my current contract but was told if I did I could not come back to Verizon for 6 months. Again, this is for new service-not upgraders!

Oh, they are free after $50 rebate.

Audiovox 9900 Discontinued?

I have a question. I went into my local Verizon store and they no longer have the Audiovox 9900 and don't appear to be getting any more. No one there was able to explain to me why it had such a short run. Does anyone know anything about this? I thought it was such a popular phone (my wife and I have them, but were thinking about getting one for a friend) and it seems odd to discontinue it before the holidays.

interseting yet odd

As many of you might already know in the VZW website...when the zipcode of 99999 was typed into the box it said shopping in null, which gave you access to the VZW page of every phone they had. Including discontinued phones and future released phones. For example with the LG 7000 the phone was in the zip code 99999, 2 weeks before its release, along with many other phones that have appeared there before release date. Now when you type 99999 it says "We currently do not have service for zip code 99999." I find that very strange. Why would verizon take that off?

?????

🤭 🤭 i realize that this topic has been exhaustingly discussed at length because i have read all of the 15 or so pages in reference to it, however, i have been very unsuccessful (to the tune of a few dollars) in sending mp3 ringtones to my 9900. i followed all of the outlined steps (even the ones on HoFo) but i always get the same "attachment dropped:< song.mid > of type:< audio/x-midi; name=song.mid >" message. i used dBpoweramp to change the clip to 24 Kbps, mono, and 22050 hz with a final size of about 88.4 KB. so basically this is an SOS because i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but anyone's help/ input would be greatly appreciated .. thanx 🙂

Get It Now

The other night I went to Get It Now on the 9900 and saw under the ringtone sites that one of them scrolled across the screen - just above the one use $1.99 - Free Expires 12/18/04.

What does this mean? Could I get ringtones free until 12/18/04? Could I get one ringtone free? Would the ringtones downloaded free not work after 12/18/04?

As I tend not to trust Verizon I did not try it just to see what would happen. Does anyone know?

Extended Battery: weight and bulk

I don't seem to be getting enough life out of my standard battery (c. 2 days with minimal use - maybe 20 minutes talk maximum). Do those of you who have the extended battery on the phone find it much bulkier and heavier than with the standard battery? I know the Audiovox 9500 (a GREAT phone) was like a small tank with the - very necessary - extended battery.

Audiovox CDM9900 plug compatible with?

I remember reading somewhere that the Audiovox CDM9900 is the same phone as another distributor's phone. I have a the Datapilot universal kit. It does not directly support Audiovox but does support Motorola, LG, Samsung, Sanyo, NOkia and Sony Ericsson.

Before I open the box, I'd like to know if I'm covered by another brand name / model.

Thanks in advance for the help!
