Good 4G Info Wimax vs. LTE

Wimax and LTE are not competing against each other. There is no winner/loser. They are not made to destroy each other. Wimax is going nowhere. Ultimately wimax will have more coverage. Why? Because cities will use wimax for everything from parking meters to free wimax. Cable companies will use it as last mile of service. Walmart will use it for connections from store to store. Every corporation will use it to replace wifi and a wimax phone will be able to use all those towers for free. That is the wonderful thing about wimax. The standard says any app, any device, and any founding carrier. LTE is only a cellphone standard, only going to be used by cellphones. Comparing them is like comparing current 3g cdma to wifi. Newer technology can track a cell phone user’s location within 60 feet.

Cell phone evidence helps crack 1,000s of cases

Newer technology can track a cell phone user’s location within 60 feet.

Sun Sentinel

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — To crack the case of a speeding Porsche that left two men dead in its wake, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., police turned to a crime-fighting ally: the U.S. Secret Service.

The same government agency that protects the president and zealously pursues counterfeiters played a role in the investigation by analyzing cell phone records for the car’s owner and one of his friends, police records show.

The analysis helped lead to vehicular homicide charges against the Porsche’s owner, Ryan LeVin, who is now in the Broward County Jail without bond.

is there a single, wireless earpiece that is stereo ?

I'm yet to find one that is a single, wireless earpiece that is stereo.

I want to listen to music from phone. I know I won't be able to split left and right sound, that's fine.

AND

I do want that to be STEREO / A2DP so I can connect to my laptop AUDIO, and listen to WHATEVER audio is on the laptop.

How can it be this hard to find this ?

I don't want a wraparound, or a dual ear-bud type deal.

I want a single wireless earpiece that is stereo.

Cost is not deal breaker.

can anyone please help with this little request ?!

THANKS SO MUCH !

Speaker dependent vs. speaker independent voice dialing

Can anybody speak (no pun intended) to trends in the cell phone industry re speaker dependent vs. speaker independent voice dialing? I'm interested in 1) anyone's experience with the quality/functionality of either or both technologies and 2) which direction the industry is headed.

What prompts this query is this: I have been using my trusty LG VX7000 for something going on five years. This phone is bullet proof and has as much technology as I need and WANT except for email access. I LOVE the speaker dependent voice dialing feature. I have some 20 tagged numbers wherein I previously recorded a single name. The phone operates thus: push a single hot button on the side, a pleasant female voice asks "name please", I say "John", the v...

Sprint 4G handsets

Maybe I am behind the times, but has Sprint released any non-aircard 4G devices yet, or at least plan to? I understand that their 4G is still limited to very few markets (17 more by the end of the year, hopefully), but it would be very nice to utilize the full power of spectacular 4G speeds on, say, a BlackBerry.

cdma txt question

So I have a BB Tour on big red, and I have noticed that if I send a message at the same time a message is coming in, the out going message fails. Is this a BB issue or a CDMA issue? I have never noticed the issue on any phone I have owned before I went to BB.

Discernments in 3G Data capabilities in CDMA technology.

I was wondering if EVDO Rel. 0 was considered 3G data capable compared to Rev. A? If anyone could help me out with that I'd appreciate it.

Gartner forecasts phones overtaking PCs as most common web browsing device by 2013

This is really interesting. More proof that people who just use their phone for "calls" are sad, aad, sad. And that they way under utilize their "phones". The line between smartphone & pc continues to blur!!!
