Lotus Notes on ATT or Verizon devices

I have recently joined a company that uses lotus notes for their email server, and the only immediate options given where all Blackberry devices. I have had a blackberry for the last couple of years, and really would like to try a Driod's or Iphone's. Do any of the these phones come with the ability to upload Lotus notes email server? Or have a way to use Lotus notes? I went to ATT and Verizon, and they couldn't tell me an answer.

Grasping RAM, ROM, Flash, User, Built-in, and External Memory

Hi,

I’m doing a report about Smartphones and the carriers for a non-profit organization called UCAN (www.ucan.org). I’m finding your site to be very helpful.

I’m trying to understand the seemingly interchangeable terms for memory that I find at different sites. I see RAM, ROM, Flash, User, Built-in, and External. The first and last a clear. Some phones don’t show a ROM spec but they show a Flash spec. I know that Flash memory is not RAM because it’s slower and I gather that it usually contains the OS + apps. Do some phones have the OS stored in a EPROM (i.e.ROM) instead of flash memory or are ROM and Flash the same?

Some phones show internal USER memory. I assume this to be part of either the flash memory o...

Three Quarters of You Are Using Your Phone in the Bathroom

Samsung passed along these survey results and I thought you folks might find them interesting. Of course, I would NEVER use my phone on the commode, but apparently a lot of people are okay with that :-)

16% use a phone during a funeral. 10% during the throes of passion.

Cell Site Activation - Upstate NY

I know there are many factors that go into determining this, but what's the average amount of time it takes for a carrier to turn up a new cell site? A new 4 panel array went up over a month ago in the Albany NY area, and no service yet from it. The only carrier in the area to use 4 panels per cell (2 long, 2 short) has been VZW due to their 850 & 1900mhz service. This is a shorter site and it's being used to fill a small, but densely populated area. How much reconfiguration is usually done to neighboring sites? I'm guessing they're running fiber ethernet to this site for their 4g push. These two things would probably lengthen the amount of time it takes to put it into service. Does it normally take a while to turn these up?

Also - some ...

data plans

I'm not sure if I'm wording this correctly. If we buy a data plan phone from say eBay, are we required to have a data plan thru our dealer? I would simply put a SIM card in from a flip phone, but the dealer says that AT&T will eventually find out we have a data plan phone and charge us for a data plan even though we don't want one.

NO FLASH PLAYER FOR BB??

Im sure this topic has been covered, but im a new BB user and wondering why BB's don't have flash player. and ive read that most smart phones don't have flash player. we're paying good money for the phones, shouldn't we have that already included. i know they're in the middle of getting something set up for BB to have flash, so I hope we don't have to wait too long for that upgrade.

What's your perfect Android?

I'm feeling a bit bored on a Sunday afternoon, so I thought I'd start a random thread. So, here's what I would look for in a perfect Android device, what are you looking for?

My specs:

3.9 to 4.1 inch diagonal, 480x800 or 480x854 aspect (anything bigger is too much for me)

LCD screen and NOT one of those garbage AMOLEDs
5+ MP camera (I'd tolerate an 8 MP, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker)

HDMI out port

REAL Android keys on the bottom with an optical pad (like the HTC Desire and NOT the fixed capacitive buttons on the HTC Incredible and most others)

Physical send/end keys squished down in the corners (like the LG Ally)

Display should wrap all the way to the sides of the screen (iPhone-like clearances on the left and r...

Dear Adobe,

Your Ad campaign against Apple is a joke. You are publically stating that the internet should not be controlled by any one company yet you literally BRAG about your proprietary control of web video on the internet.

Is this your way of saying "we are going to make flash open-source"? I mean, if not, knock it off!

What a huge pile of hypocrisy. wow.

Apple has every right in the world to controll what is and is not allowed on the device they have designed, manufactured and sold.

The best part about this whole ad campaign your running is that you are bashing yourself for being a closed and controlling company.

Get your buggy, defective and antique hands off of my phone and computer Adobe.

Apple doesn't want flash on it's ...
