USB connection with new phone...suggestions?

We are looking for a cellphone from a major carrier that has a built in USB 2.0 MALE part, not the FEMALE PART It can just be so very frustrating getting halfway to school and realizing that yeah, you have your phone, it has your data, but without the cord it's useless. If I can find him a cell (we barely care about the carrier) with a built-in USB 2.0 male part he'd be all set.

let me know!

processors

I ran across this statement:

A better and/or faster processor allows apps to run faster. Raw processor speed is measured in MHz or GHz. (1 GHz = 1,000 MHz.) However some processors are more powerful than others, so even if two different processors both run at 1 GHz, if one is more powerful, it may run software apps much faster.

🙄
So what makes one 1 GHZ processor "more powerful" than another 1 GHZ processor, and how can I tell one from the other?

Embedded SIM - what's currently available or coming soon?

In April 2009 on this board I saw this article: https://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=42 79 regarding "T-Mobile Crafts New Embedded SIM".

I've googled around to see if T-Mobile, or any of the carriers, were marketing embedded SIMS today, but didn't find much new info. All the info goes back to 2009.

I'd like to incorporate an embedded SIM in a security product I am developing that's based on Ubuntu OS. Is there currently any way to incorporate a carrier's SIM and have text and data services available that a custom app could communicate with - hopefully via USB?

Thanks,

Pantech c740 adding to or editting groups??

The booklet is weak regarding how you add a contact to a group or assigning a contact to a group. Neither option is available under "options." So right now there is now way to generate a group. Anyone that can help with this?

Thank you.

Bluetooth Voice announcement?

I just got the Gravity Smart and previously was using the Tmobile Shadow with Windows. My Motorola H500 BT would announce incoming calls from my address book or the phone number if not in the AB... the Smart only announces it thru the phone speaker while the BT only rings. I downloaded the suggested apps drivesafe.ly and voice callerID but can't get to announce thru my BT...Samsung said the phone is not capable of this feature which I find hard to believe... any suggestions or help to resolve is MUCH appreciated.

BEST Android with Tmobile

I'm switching to Tmobile for cost reasons. I currently have Sprint and I LOVE the service, but I can save $90 a month and not be locked into a contract if I go to T Mobile. I currently have an Android and am not interested in anything that's not Android. I've been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy S 4G but is it the BEST? I want quality, experience, durability and reliability.

My husband also needs a phone but he hates full touchscreens and refuses to get one. Not sure how to help him. lol.

looking for help and information.

Just a couple of moments of background.
I have had a HTC touch pro (I understand what a s*&^ phone it is) I am busy and my phone takes a beating. I have had it replaced 4 times (paying the 100 deductable) and it continues to be problematic.

I totally detest the fact that the apparent cartel of service providers and phone makers coerce people into contracts and upgrades etc. I simply feel that communication is so important and I will resist all attempts to control it.

I understand that I could have just signed new contracts, cancelled them and would have been better off and gotten a new phone. However, I would be supporting a system I do not agree with .

My question is this, in a perfect world. I would like to have a phone that at ...

Better WiFi compatibility?

I've had issues with several Android devices not working well with my current wireless router. Apps time out, won't connect at all, or move incredibly slowly. I didn't suspect my router until a recent experience I had in which I connected one of my Android devices to the wifi in a restaurant I was patronizing. Quite simply, the device just flew. It worked faster and better than I had ever seen it do before when connected to my wifi network.

So my question to all of you is, have any of you had better experiences with one type of router over another with Android handsets? If so, which one or ones?

I'd appreciate any info you could provide.

Thanks!

hdmi MHL vs regular hdmi vs DNLA

What are all the differences? MHL you can only watch multi-media files vs hdmi where you can see everything that you do on your phone, on a hdmi screen? As for DNLA i personally havent seen a tv with this feature, is it still something too new?

Cells with built in USB 2.0?

(My brother is not so very into tech toys, and wouldn't think to look in a forum like this, so I am asking for him.)

We are looking for a cellphone from a major carrier that has a built in USB 2.0 MALE part (like on a thumb drive), not the FEMALE PART (like how most phones get their power, thru 'female' micro and mini USB ports. It can just be so very frustrating getting halfway to school and realizing that yeah, you have your phone, it has your data, but without the cord it's useless. If I can find him a cell (we barely care about the carrier) with a built-in USB 2.0 male part he'd be all set.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but if anybody knows of one I beg of you to let me know!

Android ePad Tablet Reviewed. Verdict: Junk

Onto the OS. Andi declares this round a tie, despite admitting that “Each time I have used an Android device [...] I’m always left underwhelmed,” and that iOS is “is very simple and quick to use/learn to use.”netbook He even works in another dig at that awful screen.

What about the rest of the hardware, the 1GHz ARM A8 that powers the ePad?10.2" Epad Android 2.2 1GHz 4GB WIFI Tablet zt 180 New It managed to surf the web but after that it would “play choppy video clips and crash when we attempted to open a racing game that looked like it had come from a Co...
