dcantin56 said: Has anyone heard anything about verizon re-launching their push to talk i heard from my verizon rep that it is going to relaunch this fall but i see nothing yet so if anyone has anything please tell me. The relaunch has been delayed... again. Nobody I've talked to has any idea when it will be rescheduled.
Sponge said: look at nokia 5185* series. :) began life in, what, 1993? Only reason they'r enot still around is lack of GPS/E911... Good riddance though... :) Well, that and the Ni-MH batteries had an unfortunate habit of crapping out pretty quickly. If it was updated with a Li-ion battery and GPS, old people would be snapping these up like so many Depends-brand undergarments.

Re: Motorola T720........
That's not what he's asking about. Yes, go into a VZW Communications Store & have the technician upgrade the firmware. It will make the phone work a lot better, but it's still no great shakes. I had one for a long time & it was nothing but problems, even with the firmware update. Sorry about your friend.
Re: Ordering New Phones off VZW Website.
You'd probably have to call Telesales (1.800.2.join.in) to get it done.
Re: lg vx4400B
The VX-4400 was the handset that really turned me around on LG. When I sold them through Sprint, I hated the brand with a passion, since all I ever got were complaints, but the VZW LGs seem to be quality devices. I bought one for my wife, and it worked great until the day I got her a VX-7000. Now, it sits in a drawer and collects dust. Oh, well.

I don't know what they will be charging, It's my understanding that the EVDO (REV 0)cards use the same provisioning as the $79.99 Unlimited National Access plan. I do know that right now you can ONLY activate one of the EVDO cards on the $79.99 plan, not one of the MB or per-minute plans. The VX8000 will ...
Re: AT&T Wireless Meltdown Explained In Detail
Yeah, this has been floating around since about April 2004. It's a great article. I printed it out & give it to every customer I know that has ATTWS. I LOVE the employee comments at the end. Classic.
Re: What Phone are YOU Using?
Motorola Timeport 270c, V60S & a Sierra 555 aircard. Pretty utilitarian, but then I'm hard on phones & don't have time to be messing with ringtones & such.
Re: Verizon WTF is up with the CDM9900 Delivery Service!
Jesus, the things been out-of-stock for what, about 10 days now? What the hell was the CSR doing letting you order that phone in the first place? If we don't have them, we don't have them.

Here's a pic with a model holding it to kind of see the scale of the phone (unless she's very, very tall :D ). http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Page=3 &Id=912 And she's pretty cute, too. I'm not big on the Lucy Liu type, but I definitely wouldn't kick that model out of bed for eating fortune cookies... lol.
VZW discoing the Kyocera 7135
Last chance to get a lousy piece of junk! Once they're all out of the warehouse, that's it, no more replenishing! 'Bout damn time, too... stupid outdated lousy not-very-smartphone [grumble]...
Re: Is Kyocera Going to Come out with a new version of this phone?
No. It will not be replaced, thank God... In fact, when remaining stocks in the VZW warehouses are depleted, that's it, they will not be restocked. Word came down yesterday.
V710 pulled from DYMAX warehouse for software issues...
Ugh. Just shoot me now.
Re: verizon text messaging
I've had messages 'hang' in the system for a few days before, but it's always when I'm sending a TXT to a Cingular customer or a Sprint customer. I've never had a VZW-VZW message hang up, and I send between 500-800 messages per month.
Re: Water damage blues
I almost always get the toilet phones. They drive me nutso. I DEFINITELY do not want to touch them in that case.
Re: kyocera k404
I'd use the Nokia if it was me. We had a ton of 414s returned due to RF issues & general crappiness, but only 1 Nokia 3589i, and that was due to customer defect, not phone problems. I really like it. I'm not at all happy that they're not going to make the phone much longer. The 6015i is the same price, but has fewer features.
Re: Will Verizon Ever Come to Jackson, MS?!
ALLTEL, I believe.
Re: Plans changed!
In the South Area, theres a $29.99 local plan that isn't advertised, it's 200 anytime minutes, 1K N&W. No LD, no MTM. As you can imagine, it's not very popular.
Re: No internet?
Mobile Web 2.0 is SO much easier to use that the older iteration... makes it a hell of a lot easier to sell. That graphic interface makes all the difference.
Re: Release of the LGVX6100?
Check around at exclusive agents. Some of them still have the 9900 in stock. Be warned that you'll probably pay a big chunk of change for them. It's a dope phone. The t9 takes a bit of getting used to, I prefer Moto's setup. Mobile Web 2.0 is a lot easier to use & understand. I think it feels like a very well built device. Very solid. And it's made by Toshiba, so it WILL work over the long ...

Buy the most feature-packed phone you can, you'll be happier in the long run. For less than $100, you'll be looking at things like the Nokia 3589i, ...
Re: Coverage in Alaska?
No. I work for VZW. I checked. The only coverage is a bit of Extended Net in Anchorage. He's SOL except for GCI.
Re: Coverage in Alaska?
So far, the only carrier I've found is a small regional called GCI.
Re: Coverage in Alaska?
Thanks for the help, twit :x
Coverage in Alaska?
My baby brother is moving to Cordova, Alaska (99574) and none of the Big 6 have coverage there. Anybody have a clue as to who to look at for cellular service? I looked at Rogers & Telus, out of Canada, but they don't serve within the US. I suppose GlobalStar or IRIDIUM would work, but they're pricey as hell. Any suggestions?
Re: kyocera k404
It's a cut-down version of the 434.
Re: Anyone think this is a horrible design?
I think the design is OK, but I agree that the prototype color sucks. Sprint sold a Sanyo 8100 that was pinkish-white... it was hideous but the pimps snapped them up.
Re: VZW Employees...Get It Now! Questions
schnozejt said: The LG 3200pp is EMS capable, therefore you can more than likely go to vtext.com and get ringtones/pics sent to your phone. Yes, this is correct. They removed GIN from the PAYG phones because you could download whatever you wanted for free, and VZW got stuck with the bill. Oops.
barryefau said: ewwwwwwwwwww then why get it? Well... it will be a good phone for older folks who aren't into downloading 'In Da Club' or who aren't going to be using the phone as a modem. It's simple, most people that had the 5185 will be familiar with the Nokia brand & menu quirks, etc. My business customers will probably go for it in bunches because it's a very inexpensive handset.
deadlydoctor said: BowWowWow said: It doesn't have Get-It-Now or web capability though, like the 3589i did. According to Verizon's page for this phone, it is indeed internet ready: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/st ore/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPho neDetail&selectedPhoneId=1573 Ummmm... no. Nowhere on that page does it say anything about being National Access ready.
fokrabb said: When will it hit the stores ? Is the sound quality (volume etc) better than the 3589i ? Not sure. It doesn't have Get-It-Now or web capability though, like the 3589i did.
Re: What's the difference?
On the 6015i, Verizon had the BREW function disabled, so no Get-It-Now & also no National Access - meaning you can't use a cable to hook the thing up to a laptop & use it as a modem. I think this is probably a mistake - the 3589i had both, and this phone is designed to replace that handset. Same price point & everything.

Re: Better than Verizon's data kit, this one really rules!
Lol. I like the stereotypical hippie on the opening splash. Based on the original posters' somewhat bizarre grasp of the English language, and his tendency to scramble tenses & possessives in his writing, I'd say the original poster was Asian, and trying to shill his product to us. Oy. I like Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools. I've been using V2.0 for a while, and it's a good setup. I hear 3.0 should be a good bit better. I've used Nokia's PC ...
