Release of the LGVX6100?

I have read varying posts as to the release of this phone. I'm going to upgrade in a few days and since the 9900 is out of stock with no intention of a new shipment (what the rep told me yesterday at the VZW store), I'm interested in the 6100. If the 6100 will actually come out soon, I'll wait...if not...any suggestions for a good camera/tri-mode phone from Verizon? Thanks.

VeRizonWirelessGuy,
I wanted to get the 9900 and still do, but the rep at the store told me yesterday that once they sell what they have, that's it for the 9900. Now I live in Hawaii, so is that just for this state? Because I've heard varying reports as to whether or not Verizon is going to keep the 9900.

It's available on the Verizon website now. Whether or not it's in the stores now remains to be seen... 🙂

The 9900 was a limited release phone, but don't ask me why because I do not know. I saw that they had received the last shipment of this phone at their warehouse over a week ago and it is sold out on many levels. I really wish that they would keep the phone longer - but I guess there is nothing I can do to change it. I would not be scared to buy the phone - so if you want one you better act fast.

Check around at exclusive agents. Some of them still have the 9900 in stock. Be warned that you'll probably pay a big chunk of change for them. It's a dope phone. The t9 takes a bit of getting used to, I prefer Moto's setup. Mobile Web 2.0 is a lot easier to use & understand. I think it feels like a very well built device. Very solid. And it's made by Toshiba, so it WILL work over the long haul.

I emailed a request of my order status placed on 10/1..recvd a response yesterday stating that another shipment of 9900's will arrive on 10/14. Not sure if that will cover current orders only or if it supplements current inventory

Does anyone know the real date for the release of this phone? I just spoke to a VZW rep yesterday on the phone in tech. support, and he said they don't know for sure.

They keep saying October 25th on the 6100 forum, though apparently a few ppl have gotten 6100s EARLY because of a screwup on the VZW website where they put up the 6100 prematurely and some ppl ORDERED it before it got taken down.

😁 😁 😁

Arrghh...I keep hearing/reading different stories. How do they know that it'll be out on the 25th? Cos when I spoke to a VZW rep yesterday, he said they don't even know yet. And doesn't it depend on the depletion of the 6000? I guess the people who took advantage of the early posting on the VZW website got lucky 😕

I'm thinking of waiting for this phone if the 9900 will be out of stock on Sunday (my NE2). If not, do you think the a670 is a good choice with it not being tri-mode?

I've heard nothing but good things about the Samsung 670, but whether it not being trimode is ok is something that you'll have to decide for yourself by looking at your local coverage map.

I myself have a Sammy 530, which isn't trimode either, and its never ever been an issue. But I live in a highly urban area (SF/SJ/Oakland Bay Area). If I were hiking/camping/driving in the far boondocks a significant amount, I think I'd really want the trimode,' just in case'.

Maybe just wait until the 25th and see? 'tis only 10 days away.

Thanks for the info. I'll see about the 670 if the 9900 is out of stock. If not, I won't mind waiting either.
