Re: Well, I own both of them....
If you have read any of Blue's older posts, you would see a pattern of slamming the Android OS and Android phone manufacturers. This despite the fact that many of these phones were very positively received and thoroughly reviewed by professional sites. His posts are more often than not confrontational, in an attempt to draw a response. The very definition of bias.
Re: Development
Please don't encourage his fantasy. Blue is a known troll from way back.
Re: Well, I own both of them....
"Well, I own both of them...." and anyone who has been following your posts for the last couple years knows how totally objective and unbiased you are. Please.
What comes around goes around, Apple!
I doubt if anything already in consumer's hands would need to be replaced, but this is sweet. Apple getting a taste of their own medicine. Perhaps they'll reconsider their Sue-happy strategy.
Too late
Kodak has already announced they are getting out of the digital camera business. Go find another hurting company to kick, Apple. A__holes!
Re: Q3 At the Earliest...
Pathetic. Please stop embarassing yourself...
"Apple argues that the terms are not fair."
Waa, waa, waa. Cry me a river Apple. What comes around goes around. Payback is sweet!
Re: Experts predict
You've had a hard on against HTC for a few years now, don't you ever get tired of being wrong? HTC makes some great products, but the real loser here is the consumer. Not everyone is in love with Apple vanilla. It's sad that some twisted interpretation of patent laws rather than fair competition in the marketplace can decide our choices.
Don't bother using logic with Blue
He would much rather have others think he it's right than to actually be right.
Re: Throttling
True enough. But as of now, one of their major selling points is that they neither cap nor throttle.
Re: Throttling
Sprint does not have a cap, soft or otherwise.
Re: Stinks to be HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, Dell, etc...
"keep in mind this company hasn't produced anything groundbreaking in nearly a decade"
Wrong -- see original Droid
"Android isn't really 'open' , much of the source code remains proprietary."
Wrong -- you may have mistaken Android for Apple
"...or else they'll be trampled by Apple"
Wrong -- check latest figures for most popular OS
Facts are so darn inconvenient!
Re: Honestly
"Case closed"
More like "mind closed" when it comes to any company other than Apple. Fortunately a judge, not you, will have the final say on Apple's whining.
Btw, had a bagel the other say that was round. Maybe the English Muffin companies should file a lawsuit...

Does Samsung make a single phone that isn't crap?
No.
Hmm, I seem to remember you use to make the same (false) statements regarding HTC. Now that you've been proved wrong there, you move on to Samsung?
And as for Apple's claims that Samsung copied 'their' design -- since when is a rectangular shape with a glass screen somehow unique? Next thing you know Apple will be suing all the TV manufacturers, because after all, a ...
"... barely break 1 Mbps??"
Well I would be happy with that speed, or anywhere near it on my Incredible. In my area if I'm lucky I pull in about 400-500kbps. If 3G lived up to it's potential then I wouldn't complain, but at least 4G will give me some improvement.
Re: Told you. WiMax is a dead protocol walking.
No, it's not just you. The sheer ego of people who make statements such as "I told all of you this would happen" is simply amazing. As if we are to believe we're witnessing the Word of God.
Re: Isn't T-Mobile..
Except that Sprint has more Wimax coverage (40M people) than T-Mobile's entire customer base of 33M. Good try though.
Re: Told you. WiMax is a dead protocol walking.
Once again, you're wrong. But thanks for playing!
Re: Great news for the Vikings and the Stealers!
Why would you buy a phone from Clear rather than Sprint, since they use the same 4G network?
Re: So what's the problem?
Have you purchased a Moto X?
Re: No they aren't
Perhaps that's true where you live, but on this planet it's generally acknowledged that Verizon has better coverage.
Anyone in Rochester tried this yet?
How's it working? I'm considering an EVO, but not sure if the extra $10 is worth it. Also, one of the Sprint dealers said I could download an Android app to allow wireless tethering w/o needing to pay $30 for the Sprint Mobile Hotspot add-on. Does that sound right?
Re: $129.99
I agree that BB is another choice. My only point was that the OP's originally headline screaming "$200???" was both inaccurate and inflammatory.
$129.99
Regardless if it's a $100 rebate, it's still only $129.99, not $200 or $229. I think that's a fair price for this phone.
You're right, cause Apple is the one losing sleep over Android!
Typical Apple -- closed system, closed minds. eom
"Specs" you say?
But wasn't it just a little while ago you were scoffing at HTC phones as nothing but a collection of good specs? And now you quote the iPhone's specs? You can't have it both ways.
Re: Well, not really...
Yes, the Android OS updates will slow, but the pace of new phones with new hardware will not, at least not for awhile. Because of the multitude of manufacturers using Android, we're seeing an explosion of new devices with increasing capability. If Apple sticks to their once/year hardware updates, the iPhone will not be top dog for long, assuming this update puts it back in that position.
Well, not really...
but today is Apple's day, so let them enjoy it. Perhaps they'll even have another one in a year or so. Meantime Android will have several in the next couple months.
And it's an iPhone!
That has to be worth something, right, right? Come on guys, it's an iPhone!! Guys??....
Say "Thank you, Android!"
Apple/AT&T aren't running the show anymore.
Re: Told you.
"Told you". What are you, 10?? One person's results are statistically irrelevant, especially when presented with such obvious bias. Wait until we get some input from thousands of new EVO users, and then well see how 4G stacks up to 3G
Re: Sure, you *could* skew the numbers. We didn't.
Fair enough, but using the average is probably not the best tool for this comparison. The extremes greatly affect the result. I think the median value would be more representative of actual performance.
Should have said "Flawed conclusions" , sorry.
Dumb conclusions
By including location F, the overall average was greatly skewed. PS admits there was little 4G coverage in the burbs. The 4G signal there appeared almost non-existent, and for some reason the HSPA was the strongest. Drop location F from the test and WiMax ends up 50% faster on download, although still much slower on upload.
Re: It's not a 'feature' if it makes the phone worse.
If you want to come off as an expert, you need to back it up. Your constant criticism of Android while worshiping the iPhone means only one of 2 things: either the iPhone is perfect (it's not) or you are extremely biased (seems more likely). Respect must be earned.
Re: I read it, and it makes sense.
"Hi, I'm Steve, and I know what's good for you."
Re: two questions
I think Gingerbread is v2.3, but the biggest changes are being saved for v2.5, currently codenamed 'TheBarrel'. Google is expecting lots of celebrating when they roll out TheBarrel!
Re: This doesn't make any sense
I actually agree with you for a change (strangely enough). Just makes Google AND Verizon both look stupid.
Re: Hmm, and what of Sprint?
The N1 is actually a 3.7" screen, but it wouldn't matter as much if Sprint was getting something like the Incredible. Unfortunately I don't think they are, so it's either the EVO or one of the lesser android phone they already have.
