Re: Statement from Sprint
"The Sprint Satisfaction Guarantee, which is in-line with the return policies of some other major wireless carriers"
Sprint, we don't want you to be in line with other carriers, we want you to be unique!
HTC Nexus One (at&t 3G bands) + Straight Talk $45 /month plan =
Awesome!!!
:D :D :D
Anyone else having these issues?
I picked up this device on Friday, July 22
I have noticed the following:
GPS is inaccurate
WiFi drops signal, even when you set the sleep policy to never. I ended up downloading WiFi Fixer to remedy that
Screen sometimes takes more than one tap to register a selection. It also lags a bit
These issues are more on Motorola than Virgin Mobile. I though Moto made better handsets. :(
Samsung Galaxy Tab question
I currently have an HTC EVO with text and data only. Any chance I could upgrade to a Galaxy Tab without getting an ETF?
Re: Dell Streak
But Rich, you acknowledge that it IS a phone, so can you please set up a spec page for it?
:D
Hey Phone Scoop
Still waiting for Dell Streak specs, even though the phone has been out for awhile.
Sure were fast to put up this spec page. 8O
Mobile hotspot? How so?
I have the unlocked Pre 2 from HP. I haven't seen anything that states it can be a mobile hotspot. Please clarify.
Re: Sending back the Pre 2 (GSM)
I only saw it in action once or twice, nothing that really jumped out at me.
Sending back the Pre 2 (GSM)
Battery life is horrible, fully charged at 10pm, down to 70% at 6am the following morning, all in standby mode.
Despite being a little zippier, the form factor and OS have not changed enough for me to keep the Pre 2, so I am sending it back to HP. :(
Trying out the Pre 2 (GSM)
Just got the unlocked GSM Pre 2. So far what I have noticed over Pre and Pre Plus
Boot time cut in half (woo hoo!)
Programs load faster, all around, much snappier
Battery life is pretty much the same as my old Sprint Pre
The shipped back cover is Touchstone ready!
Camera is still one of the best
BB Torch Apps
I noticed that the WHERE app only had a limited free trial on the BB Torch, while on other OS platforms like Android and WebOS, this app is free.
Is this a BB thing or at&t?
Before I return the Captivate, please help
First off, the screen on this device is OUTSTANDING. I haven't seen anything quite like it. Also, the phone is thin and light, and battery will last two days at least even with moderate use.
Now, my issues are these... WTF did Samsung do to Android??? The only thing I can think of to describe it is neutering. Most of what I consider stock widgets, like analog clock, are absent. Even after replacing the Touch ...
VZW, please explain
Palm Pre+ has wi-fi hotspot for free, other phones, like the Droid X you have to pay extra.
Please explain why.
Data tethering
Is VZW going to charge extra for data tethering or wi-fi hotspot?
Amazon drops price to $99.99, waives activation fee through 08/31/2010
So the question is...do I return mine to the at&t store and buy another through Amazon and save approx. 136.00??
Maybe at&t will drop the price
Re: Questions about the Torch.... Please fill me in if you've got one...
First of all, I want to know if the phone has a status light indicator for notifications.
Yes
Also, can u still assign two different ringtones to each contact.... One for their texts and one for their calls??
I think so. I have not tried, but if you could with other Berries, you should be able to do so with this one as well.
Does AT&T offer insurance for this phone??
Yes
Re: Droid Does!
Motorola spokesperson Brenda Raney says that the Droid "doesn't have [the] hardware to support a mobile hotspot."
Re: Did you delete all the widgets on philblur before you used launcher pro?
I took mine back to the store and they were able to replicate my issues, so I did get a bum device. My local store ordered a replacement which should arrive by 7/23/2010.

It's very annoying when people that have never owned the phone and own a competing device start a thread full of fake problems just to bring it down.
Ahem, I still do own this device.
ChocoTaco369 said:We understand, you own and Evo and for some reason you feel threatened by the Droid X. Why? I have no idea, but it's sad on your part.
No feeling of threat, just stating my experience with the device I purchased.

Excuse me?
Maybe I had a bad apple. This doesn't take away that the camera on my device did not work, and that the UI was laggy.
I am very happy for all of those that received a properly working device. As for me, I am running my old Moto Droid.
Returning mine tomorrow
Nice try, but this device is too laggy for a 1Ghz processor, the EVO is much more fluid.
Also, the camera didn't work at all, and seeing I bought the last one in stock, I cannot exchange.
And this ninja blur sucks, I couldn't wait to download Launcher Pro to replace it.
Got suckered again by a great spec but poor performing device, when will I learn? :(
Re: FIX THE BATTERY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!
How long have you had the EVO? I noticed after a week or so, the battery was alot better. I do not run any task managers/killers. I have the Sense UI with news, friends feed, stocks, and weather refreshing quite frequently.
The battery life WILL get better with time
As with most, if not all batteries, it needs a break in period, so if you have had the EVO for less than a week, you may think the battery is weak. Give the battery and phone time to acclimate to each other and your usage habits.
My battery lasts over a day with moderate usage. I also do not use any task killers.
Very deceptive headline
Had me scared for a moment that the "Death Star" blew up Aldarann
Me too
I had the Droid on VZW, tried out the 3GS iPhone, and then went to the EVO. After completing that circle one more time in a week, I stopped at the EVO. Faster than the 3GS, better screen dimensions than the DROID (I am not big on the 16:9 aspect ratio the Droid seems to have).
I believe we will both be happy in the long run. :D
Re: EVO rebate deadline - be aware
I pulled the one from Sprint's website that had different dates and emailed it to my sales person. She said either rebate form would work.
Well, I am using the one with the July deadline!
EVO rebate deadline - be aware
My sales rep at the Sprint store made sure to highlight the postmark deadline of June 19th. Not sure if that has anything to do with the iPhone 4 launch on June 24th, but it is less than 30 days from purchase, so I guess Sprint is asking us to make up our minds in less than 30 days.
Tricky Sprint, very tricky.
Erratic Wi-Fi signal
I have read on AC forums that folks like me are experiencing erratic Wi-Fi signal, even in the same room as the router.
Anyone else having this issue? Any workarounds?
What gets me is this
Even a local news outlet was talking about this last night on there 5pm news. Never mentioned the EVO at all the entire launch weekend.
Not only is at&t in bed with Apple, so is the media.
Samsung Moment question
I am considering coming back to Sprint and getting the Moment. I am not too keen on the HTC sense overlay of Android, nor the extra $10 fee.
Anyways, is the Samsung Moment stock android, or is there an overlay to it, like a Samsung version of Sense or MotoBlur?
Does at&t offer this plan?
I tried navagating through the at&t wireless website and cannot find any information.
I am looking for a unlimited text and data plan with no minutes. I use my device for internet and texting, and don't wish to pay 40.00/month for minutes I'll never use.
This would be for a smartphone.
EVO 4G on its way to VZW???
I sure hope so!
Pre MINUS
So, with the recent removal of the mobile hotspot charge, I decided to buy a Pre on Verizon and giive it a try, and also give my DROID a well deserved rest.. Having used the original Pre on Sprint, I knew my way around Web OS. I received the device yesterday and activated it on my main line. Then, I updated to 1.4.
I am not sure what happened since I moved away from Web OS, but ...
Re: 2.1 Update...Thank you!
Yup, I figured out the speech to text feature and it is great.
Now, how do I type something and have the speech synthesis say it back in another language?
Re: Why oh why must the camera be so bad?
The last iPhone I had took terrible pictures, all of them, no matter the light level, came out reddish orange.
My Droid's camera takes great pics, WAAAAY better than an iPhone can.
Re: Version 2.1 summed up in two words
App drawer animation seemed glitchy when using the live wallpapers, so I do not use them.
The new weather and news widget is nice, but you can get similar through the app store.
I have gotten use to double tap for zooming, so pinch to zoom is rarely used.
I haven't figured out this text to speech thing everyone is talking about, what apps use it??
I had to reset my bluetooth connection to my car stereo after the update (Pioneer AVIC 700BT), ...

That's It?

I totally forgot my Droid was to get 2.1...

Re: Likes & Dislikes so far
I ended up returning the device, but I would still recommend it
