the workhorse

Dec 19, 2007 by carp9280

Alright, this fon overall was and still is great. For the average person this fon doesn't leave you wanting or needing anything else.

I am the average t-shirt and jean guy who talks and texts and checks his favorite scores via the INTERNET connection on the fon when Im not in front of the TV watching the game or games in question.

The suggestive text helps me get those one liners out there when I need and has no problem sending multiple pages when I let the girlfriend really know how I feel.

Call quality has been great, even though I bought this fon off eBay and it was meant for Germany, the quad band (world fon) aspect hasn't let me down yet and I've had it for almost a year and a half. That being said Ive never been able to use the iToons function on it due to licensing issues.

The camera take awesome pictures for not having a flash if you are in an area with a good light source.

The video is great to seamless audio and visual @ 30 seconds a pop.

Never a complaint as to the battery life.

I am hard on all my toys and my fon is not an exception, I drop it, it has gotten wet several times, etc...its a great fon for someone who doesn't need all the bells and such...

Pros:

Sleek
Looks and feels great in your hand
Not a lot of people have them
Camera/video
Call Quality
Menu is easy to Navigate

Cons:

Keys may be a little small

As far as the iToons go I cant provide an opinion.

Hope this has been of some help!

Nice

For its time, this was a great little phone. There were a few drawbacks, but if you know enough technical kung-fu.. you could get this sucker to play mp3's full-length movies, even act as a cellular modem for your lap-top!

Awesome Phone!!!!

Jul 29, 2007 by slvrdude

Well Ive had this phone for almost a year now and i have to say its the best phone ive had so far....even though its already been a year..its still soooo coool!!

Pros:
Slim and Sleek
itunes...duh
easy access to memory card...
Keyboard rocks!!!: The keyboard is so attractive and looks awesome to..especially when the sun hits it!!! it might be a little small but after awhile ull get really used to it....
Speaker phone for itunes is Cool...

Cons..

Cant use songs stored on your memory card as ringtones.....that really sux....
Keyboard gets scratched up after a while...
Messaging memory sux..after i have about fifty incoming messages stored on my phone it keeps saying messaging low and thats no good....
im kinda picky about this put the phone has a security feature on it and i lock my messaging so people dont read my txt or try to txt..but every time i recieve a txt i have to insert my password..which is not good....
Phone memory is really poor...only about maybe 10 ringtones and more pics...

Other than those cons it is an awesome phone...hopefully in a later time at&t will invent a Slvr L10 or something..cuz ill buy it...hahaha.....

Had to give it up

Jun 16, 2007 by Upick1too

I am very sad to be giving up this little phone.
I called in my rights under the Lemon Law and decided on the new razor model as my replacement.
The problems I had with the SLVR were not being able to place calls. The phone would display 'calling...' and never connect. This happened while driving through heavily populated ChicagoLand, so it's not busy towers or lack of signal at all. The phone would also freeze up, not responding to any commands. Taking out the battery every other day or so was not an acceptable resolution.
There is a menu to program your own ring songs, but the legend doesn't jive. My older Motorola phone had this feature and I was able to create ring tones of Seasonal and original songs.
A cell phone user since 1994, this was my favorite so far.
Let's see how I like the Razor, as I usually don't like flip phones.

Pros;
Too many to list

Cons;
Freezes regularly.
Can't connect calls regularly

good phone with a great MP3 Player!

Apr 27, 2007 by alf9386

I love this phone! It is a great MP3 player and a great phone.

Pros:
MP3 player
Expandable memory slot
user friendly
Loud speakers
Included computer USB cable, head phone adapter, wall charger and 512mb memory card

Cons:
I had to send this phone back five times.
There was a flaw in the manufacturing of the Pink colored SLVR and so I had to have mine replaced several times, finally I got a black one and it works just fine!

Buttons are hard to use for text messages.

Impossible to have a conversation when the phone is resting on your shoulder. There is only one little voice speaker and if it is not right on your mouth the other person can not hear you!

despite its flaws- I love the phone and all the features!

Money well spent!

i just bought this phone a couple of days ago and i really like it except that the speaker is not loud enough

Awsome phone but...

Its a great phone, the only problem with it is that it doesn't carry blue-tooth versions that allow it to play music or control the music (with blue-tooth head phones). On the plus side they make USB head phones and adapters for normal headphones to USB.

Great Phone If You Are Lucky

Mar 8, 2007 by wwehavok85

I had a Cingular MOTOSLVR for about 6 months. I loved it. It had a beautiful screen and excellent features. This phone introduced me to iTunes. Overall, it was a great phone until I was having some issues with call quality and it was suggested that I exchange it. I did and regretted it. I exchanged it a total of 4 times in 3 weeks. Each time I got one, it had a new problem. They even sent me a BRAND NEW one and it had a major software issue that could not be fixed. Finally, I was given an LG CU500 and was happy.

PROS:
Beautiful Screen
iTunes
Size and Design

CONS:
The phone is great, but you have to hope you get a working one.

I just got this phone a couple of weeks ago as a replacement for my RAZR that sadly went for a ride in the washing machine I will admit I went bargin basement and went with the unbranded version but even with that it gets better service than my razr did and it just seems to be a better phone all around I love it
