LG VX-8300

This looks like a slightly modified 8100. Can't use speakerphone with phone closed, BT is still v1.1 instead of v1.2, which means it will probably still disconnect from most headsets and have static. Battery seems slightly larger but it still has the 'LG' so-so signal.

Is there any way of adding a new field for street addresses to the default fields provided in the in the LG 8300 contacts template?

I love my new LG VX8300 phone. I have one problem. I purchased a microSD card to transfer photos/MP3 music files and while the photos transferred fine, the phone will not even let me move the MP3 music onto my phone (let alone play them!). And yes, I punched in the service code at the hidden menu and enabled MP3 play, before anyone asks. A VZW rep told me I need to convert the files to WMA audio, but that doesn't make any sense if it works for people the other way. Why is this happening?

Who knows the easiest way to get to the video camera?

Has anyone else having this problem? So far it has only been while on the wireless internet or texting. I had a VX-4600 a couple years ago that did the same thing, but during calls too.

I know that I'm able to set one of my Flix to my wallpaper, but is there a reason why it goes without sound? If not, is there a way to adjust the "wallpaper volume"? 😕

Is there a way to lock the music buttons on the outside of the phone? Sometimes they are hit by accident and they start to play. It's kinda anoying

I am sorry but I am new to this phone.. Is there a way to get the name of the person that is calling (from your phone book) to be in the middle of the screen and not at the bottom?? I know it sounds stupid but my 6100 was in the middle and am use to it.

I have followed the wonderful posts in here and have activated the mp3s on my phone. I have a folder called my mp3s on my 1gb micro sd card. When I browse the phone to the card memory is shows the one song I have put in there.

I made the mp3 from a song I legally own from one of my cds. It shows in the folder but when I press the shortcut key "5" for a couple seconds, it bongs and says "location empty".

Can anyone help me? What am I doing wrong? The location certainly is not empty but maybe I have the wrong location selected.

i had this fone for 2 weeks but id know how to set my voice memo as ringtones, i dont know what the 2 diff. bars for service are for, and i dont know where to buy the memory card, the cord 2 hook up to the computer, and a clip. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

I have a LG VX-8300 and would like to use Datapilot to access the internet with it. I've installed the software on my computer and can use everything but the web connection. I've tried the connection that is in the datapilot and keep getting disconnected. Then I tried to set up a dialer and get online that way but still no luck. I have windows 98. Does anyone know how to set up the dialer for this?

I remember that sometime in June, a user posted a website that allows you to cut a ringtone and then send it to your phone. I used it all the time but I lost the name of the site. It isn't funfornobile.com so please don't give me that as an answer. If any of you can help, that would be great. Thanks.

I am impressed with all the functions of this phone except the voice command when used with the phone open and also when used with bluetooth. It does not seem to recognize my voice even when i went thru the voice training function on the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions, comments or help? I am still in 15day trial period. All else considered it is still a very good phone.

has anyone found that when using voice dial after you say: "Call Bob" the phone will list Bob and other names that it recognizes but sometimes it freezes there instead of saying "did you say bob"...has anyone else encountered this...any solutions?

News flash: no one cares if you kiss your 8100 goodnight and sleep with it under your pillow. Your review was supposed to be about the 8300.
I like both phones and, if you like the 8100 better, that's cool. But to give the 8300 a rating of one and say it's not very good is moronic and does a disservice to anyone trying to decide whether to get the phone. If the outside OLED screen improves battery life, that's fine with me.
I don't spend all day staring at my phone. If they had used the same screen as the 8100, that would be fine with me too. If a more professional appearance, greatly improved voice dialing, and stereo bluetooth aren't enough of an upgrade for you-oh well. Give your phone a hug for me.

any experts out there that could help me out with this decision. i know the 990 is expensive, but money aside for a minute, which of these phones is the better phone?

i just picked up a belt clip and man it sucks its soo hard to use you need both hands to release it,just warning all you fellow phonescoopers

I'm not very smart about all this technological stuff. But what is so great about the new flash UI or whatever it's called, like what does it do that other verizon phones dont? I dont have the phone, but I want it, so i was just wondering about this. thanks for your help.
