Low Fringe Reception for Razr?

My wife and I just switched from Cingular TDMA to Verizon last week and bought a pair of Verizon Razrs. She even shelled out an extra $30 for the Pink one! Anyway, so far I have been less than impressed with the reception. We have little service in our house which will probably get worse as the leaves come out on the trees. We had none with Cingular and switched to Verizon after watching many friends answer their Verizon phones and carry on perfectly normal conversations in our home.

I was on the Easter Shore of Maryland on Saturday and compared my Razr to my father-in-law’s Verizon Motorola E815 and found that he had at least one if not two more bars as we drove though some notorious fringe reception areas. His phone rang when min...

How Sturdy

Choosing between E815 and Razor 3VC for upgrade. Stories being told how delicate the Razor is, especially if accidently dropped. Any comments. Plus does it have "Vibe then Ring"/

Got H3 RAZR headset (first impression review)!!

I figured Id keep you guys posted on bluetooth headsets because Im sure some of you are as annoyed with them as I am (trying to find the right one)

Picked up the H3 yesterday, only used it a little bit, but so far so good:

1: FIT - it fits great, nice and snug to the ear, I can shake my head back and forth and it doesnt go move a bit. I think I can golf with this on (may help some of you) and take full swings without any movement. So this was a plus right away (much sturdier than the Jabra BT800 and Moto HS850)

2: SOUND QUALITY - this is great...very loud and clear. Blows away the quiet Moto HS850 and is even better than the BT800. No problem driving and hearing. From what Ive heard so far Im clear to the person on the other en...

Hearing myself talk while on a call (Verizon Razr)

I just upgraded from a Samsung A650 to a Razr V3c. I love the phone so far.

When I am talking on a call I can hear my voice as if I'm speaking into a small box. Not really an echo sound, but hard to explain.

The callers say I sound fine with no reception problems. Anyone else experience this or am I just getting used to a new handset?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

A tip on bypassing entering password to get voicemail

In case you all don't want to have to always enter your password to get your voice mail:

Just enter your cell # in your Contact list, assign a speed dial to it, then select Pause and add your password. Then to get your voice mail, all you'll have to do is press your speed dial #

That's it...sorry if you may have already known this tip. I'm just a noob discovering a my new toy!

Razr V3c Loose Button

Hi, I noticed that on my RAZR V3c the right outside button is a little bit loose, it rattles a little bit when I shake the phone. Is this something I need to be worried about, or is this the case on all of the RAZR V3c'? Thank You Very Much!

V3C message alert

Am I overlooking a setting on the RAZR that enables the phone to notify you of a new voice mail, e-mail, etc. until you acknowledge it.
My LG 6100 would beep every minute or so until you opened it. That way if you received a message in a noisy environment and didn't hear the initial beep the phone would keep making noise until you heard it.
With the RAZR I have gotten messages and had no idea that they were there until the next time I looked at the phone which could be several hours later.

Thanks

disable side buttons

Anyone know of a way to disable the side (soft) buttons? More times than not from moving around in my pocket the ringer profile gets changed (usually to alarm) and somehow the phone dialed my last called number.

Thanks, Scott

VZW Techs: Issues with Numeric Paging on Verizon Wireless

I have been having issues receiving numeric pages from within the voicemail platform. I am receiving numeric pages only when the phone number of the caller is BLICKED. If the number is not blocked (hence displayed), I never receive the numeric pages even when the system says sent successfully. Is anyone aware of this with the V3c and is there a fix? This is an issue for me with the .02 and .03 software.

Thank you...

Different colors / different versions of the v3c?

Interestingly enough - I noticed that my phone was a different shade of gray than my wifes and my friends. I mean, it doesnt scream out at you, but it is definitely noticeable when they are all on the table next to each other. Mine is clearly a lighter shade of gray than theirs (theirs are identical).

Also, I always felt that my flip was a little flimslier than theirs - after seeing the different colors, combined with the softer/flimsy(er) flip - I started to wonder if there are different versions/models out.

Mine was an original bought when it first came out - ordered through a corporate account. Both my wife and my friends phones are both replacements (something happened to their original phone, they brought it back and got brand ...

The Real Scoop on the HS850

I know this headset isn't the latest but for those of you that care, I think Ive discovered the myth of the HS850 headset volume.

If youve been confused from reading hundreds of mixed reviews about the HS850...dont pull your hair out any longer, the answer is pretty simple. Ive put in the leg work and discovered something you might want to know.

First off, if youve read these reviews you are probably aware that the headset is rated fairly high, and recommended by many (even over alot of the newer headsets) because it doesnt have that much static, it rarely drops signals, its quick, its light, its stylish, its motorola.

However, the big complaint it seems that half of the people seem to have is the volume. Its simply just NOT LOUD ...

Keypad Overheat?

I know this is an odd question, BUT has anyone noticed a problem with the keypad and/or internal screen overheating after extended periods of time talking on the RAZR?

I have an LG (6100?) that feels like I put my face on a stove top burner if I talk on it too long (ie. more than 15 min. ha), and I would like to avoid another phone like this when I upgrade.

Thanks.

A couple questions (EVDO and Battery Life)

Okay I am new to the Verizon world and am a recent switcher from Cingular (who I liked). I am very happy with me service so far and I decided to get a RAZR v3c. I already had the silver RAZR with Cingular and really enjoyed the phone. I seemed to charge my RAZR every other day with no problems. With that being said here are my questions?

1. For an average user that talks about 30min-1hr each day and sends a few text messages, will I be able to charge this phone every other day? I have read numerous posts on here that state that a RAZR V3C doesn't last all day and I find that hard to believe.

2. I kind of know what EVDO is but is it easily disabled on a RAZR if your not interested in faster speeds? If so how?

3. Lastly, are you still...

Flashing to GATW_01.0F.03P

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find instructions on flashing my phone to the new .03 software. I found the file on Howard Forums but I dont know how to flash it on the phone.

I noticed my H3 headset disconnects from my phone after being in standby mode for to long. I am not even sure if the .03 software addresses bluetooth issues. Anyhow this is the only reason I want to upgrade.

If .03 does not fix bluetooth issues I dont want to bother.

Any input on this would be great. Thanks!

how is the battery life

i purchased the razr for vzw the other week, and i went to an official verizon wireless store. the sales rep told me the phones battery does not last more than 90 min talk time and if you leave the house in the morning you should take your phone charger with you. i didn't believe him so i bought the phone and tried it for a few days. over the first 3 days i averaged 30 min talk time per day, no bluetooth usage i made sure it was off, and i ended up charging the phone 4 times in those three days. the battery would not last even 24 hours. so i was wondering if everyone else is having this problem or if it was just me, and if you are not how long do you talk on your phone for. when i returned the phone i asked the guy what is the return ra...
