Nokia 6682 / 6681

So Cingular told me when I ordered my 6682 phone that to activate it all I had to do was take the SIM out of my Nokia 6230 and pop it into the new 6682. They said I would still have EDGE (set to work correctly) and that all my contacts would transfer over. Is this true? I am thinking that the differences in the OS's would make this impossible. Can any of you guru's verify that what they told me is correct? Thanks.

How long did it take you all to get your phone via mail after you ordered it? I ordered mine early early on Monday. I still have not heard a word and it is Wed. I have called Cingular and all they tell me is it is in Process. NOW wait a minute...I paid an extra $14.95 for two day shipping. How long does it take to process the dang thing? They say they will mail it via FedEx so I call them and they don't even have it there yet. Geesh. Ok..I know I have one more day before I should really bitch..haha I had to laugh tho on Monday they said it would "go out" that day. On Tue I call, they say it "Just went out TODAY." Now I call again today and they have no idea. LOL

Has anyone gotten their case yet (for those who have ordered already)? Mine is due in a few days and was just wondering since the speaker is located on the top of the phone where the power button for the 6620 is, does the case have an open slot there? Thanks in advance....

I am trying to purchase this phone for use on T-Mobiles network directly through Nokia's site, but it only says there's a Cingular version. Is this version unlocked? Or do you think it's the actual phone you'd get with a Cingular plan.

They have it there for 350 which I don't see as being too bad.

DOES THIS PHONE HAVE A BETTER SCREEN THAN THE NOKIA 6620? YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD SINCE THE 6620 HAS 65000 COLORS AND THIS PHONE HAS 262000 COLORS BUT SOME WEBSITES I HAVE SEEN SAY THEY CANNOT TELL A DIFFERENCE. DOES ANYONE WHO HAS HAD A NOKIA 6620 PRIOR AND NOW OWN THIS PHONE TELL A DIFFERENCE...THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.

How do I remove or at least change the BIG "Cingular" on the top of the screen (next to the clock). I used to have a nokia back in the TDMA days, but I think I had to change the name of the service provider or maybe enter some super secret code to get to a hidden menu.
I know it's enough with the "Cingular" ad that I've got painted on the outside of the phone, I want that space for my own expression.

Maybe somebody could point me towards a blank logo or even MMS me one?

I just got mine today, gotta say its amazing. I got the USB cable, software, headset, and like 15 manuels on how to use the thing. Just noticed that some people were not sure exactly what was in the box (ie if cingular was going to give users all the stuff). Im happy to report i got everything. 🙂

I know posting this question here is a bit one sided but I also know many of you have experience with many phones. Is the MO Razor the phone to get or should I purchase the 6682? I'm a new to Cingular customer and would buy the phone through my corp, can I get a discount on one phone only? Thanks in advance for your help.

Just got this yesterday and am trying to figure out how to have my pics/wallpaper be applied to the entire screen. As it is now, it leaves space at the top and bottom and shrinks the pic. to the middle of the screen.

The pic looks great full screen (I resized to 176x20😎, but strange to only have it in the middle.

Any way to do this?

Did any receive the WRONG data cable with this phone from cingular or is it just me?

i use to have a nokia 8390, which was tiny, but i loved how it would easily slip into my pocket.

does this one fit in a jeans pocket comfortably?

Cingular's website has it posted for $299 with a 2 year contract.

I upgraded my service (migrated) from ATT Wireless to Cingular, finally. I ordered my 6682 through letstalk.com for $249 for only a 1 year contract, not bad.

for corporate customers, at $269, your discount will vary - mine is $50 off plkus 25% off and 25% off other equipment 🙂

Any one here who can give in some leads as to how and where to get the cheapest price for 6682/6681 without any contracts...

torn between the motorola mpx220 and the nokia 6682....

any suggestions???

i know the 6682 is newer (although the mpx220 is just rereleased with a lot of fixes)... and has a better camera...

but mpx220 does have windows for mobiles...

guess it's also some of the flip vs candybar question!

can i use this phone to get my work email (usually work with outlook) - does it sync? also, since my work refuses to use VPN, how is browser support (i have to use the internet to send mail when away from the office - a pain)

If I purchase one of these without any plan.... get it Unlocked.. will it be OKAY to be used with T-Mobile (New Jersey) ???
any issues with Frequency?
